Monica’s face turned pale as she looked up, realising who the men were. Gerald was shocked to see Victor’s men; he knew he didn’t have any business with them and wondered why they came. But something in him struck when he saw Austin smiling and enjoying his meal with Charlie.

He thought about using Victor’s men against Austin.

What a coincidence?

The thug didn’t bother looking at Gerald because they came for a reason. “Come with us, Ms. Monica.”

“What for?” Monica asked. “What have I done?”

“Can’t you see I am having a good time with her, and can’t you show some respect. I am a Benson and I demand you show us some respect.” Gerald uttered, with his shoulder raised.

The thug glared at Gerald, “We know and that doesn’t scare us. We aren’t here for you; we have been asked to come with her; our boss wants to see you.”

Gerald stood from his chair; this was his opportunity to show his authority as a member of the Benson's family. “Why does your boss want to see her?”

“Her mother owes my boss a million dollars from gambling and her mother had made a deal with my boss.”

Monica’s eyes widened in disbelief, “How could her mother do such a thing?” She thought.

She knew of her mother’s gambling history, and on numerous occasions, they have had issues, but Mrs Sarah assuring her daughter she would stop, but she hasn’t.

“What are you talking about, my mother can’t make sure to deal with your boss,” Monica yelled.

Where does Mrs. Sarah want Monica to see a million dollars to clear the debt when her inheritance has been seized unless she gets married to Austin before she would get something out of it?

Their conversations were grabbing the attention of other customers.

Gerald was left dumbfounded; how could Mrs Sarah owe a lot of money gambling?

“Tell Victor to let her go; I will settle with him when I am done here.”

“Yes, you heard him.”

One of the thugs took a step forward, “You should stay out of this; we are taking her away and not even you can stop us.”

“Who do you think you are? Do you know who I am? I am Gerald Benson. My family is influential, if you touch her, you will regret it.”

He paused, “Go tell Victor that she is with me and I will come later. Don’t mess with me.”

Monica was happy she had someone like Gerald to stand for her, unlike someone who forced her dad into getting married to her. He was sitting at the other side watching the scene without uttering a word or showing any atom of concern.

Gerald wants to show off to impress Monica and also show Austin he is powerful, so he steps forward, trying to push past them. But one of the thugs effortlessly grabbed him by his shoulder and slammed him back down his seat.

Gerald struggles with the man. “Get your hands off me.” He said with a cracked tone.

Before Gerald would realize himself, the man sent a punch to his stomach. Gerard winced in pain as he fell to the ground; Monica’s confidence faded the moment she saw the incident. Her mind pounding in fear.

One of the thugs grabbed Monica as they dragged her away. Leaving Gerald as he struggles to get to his feet.

Austin, who witnessed the show, got up from his seat. After clearing their bill.

“Go home, I am behind you.” He said with his voice barely above a whisper.

Charlie nodded, as he left immediately. Austin walked straight to the thug before they could enter their car.

“I had suggested you back off,” Austin’s voice was calm but with a hint of danger.

The men paused, as they turned towards Austin. Monica cursed under her breath. She was expecting someone better, not Austin.

“Who are you? Another rich dude who thinks he is untouchable.” One of the men snarled.

“I don’t think he is rich, but he wants to play the superhero.” Another man sneered, looking at Austin with a deadly glare.

Austin narrowed his gaze at Monica, he smiled coldly. “You are right. I am not some rich dude, but you don’t mess with people I care about. I don’t care who sent you or who you think you are. I will advise you to leave her or I will make you leave.”

There was tense silence, as the men couldn’t help but laugh.

“Who do you think you are, tough guy? You saw what happened to Gerald the son of Mr. Benson. You had better stay away because you might end up with broken bones.” Another scoffed.

“Austin, this is no child’s play. You are no match for these people. You should go away, and allow me to handle it my way.” Monica was tired of watching the scene before her.

She knew she needed someone to help her, but Austin was a match for Victor; if they could hit Gerald, who then was Austin?

“You heard the lady, she doesn’t need your help. So back off.”

Before the men would turn, Austin went forward towards one of the thugs, slapping him across his face so hard that he stumbled back.

Monica’s mouth opened in shock and disbelief. She was taken aback by the sudden incident. She knew Austin had gotten himself into deep trouble for laying his hand on One of Victor’s men.

The other thugs couldn’t believe their eyes, Austin had just aroused the devil inside of them.

They were about to pounce on him when they heard a voice from behind.

“Let them go.”
