They all averted their gaze towards the voice; the thugs were shocked; the Presence of the figure was commanding and not even their boss would stand tall when someone like Ryan Daniel was.

They trembled in fear.

“Mr. Ryan,” one of the thugs said calmly.

“Let them go,” Ryan said as he stepped forward with his men standing behind him.

Victor was no match for Ryan, not even the Bensons or any other families in the city. Mr Ryan is known to be the richest man in the city and is feared by the underground bosses as well.

No one messes with him, and he stands to see the next day, with just a phone call, Victor or anyone would vanish from Earth.

“Our boss demanded that we come with her.” One of the thugs managed to spill.

Ryan raised his brow, “She is my business partner and I can’t allow you to take her in such a manner. Whatever business she has with Victor should be settled amicably.”

The thug tried to touch Austin, and Ryan’s face turned red. “Don’t you dare?” He warned, then composed himself to avoid creating a scene. “Let him go, tell Victor to come over to the mansion. I have something important to discuss with him. You can leave now.”

Monica couldn’t help but heaved a sigh of relief, she couldn’t have imagined what would have happened to her if not for Mr. Ryan. She thought about her mother, and she knew she had to ask for help from Mr. Ryan.

“Mr. Ryan. They have my mother captive. Please, help me.” She pleaded.

“Is that true?”

The thugs nodded in response.

“Then tell Victor to set her free.”

The thugs immediately left; Monica turned to face Mr. Ryan. “I can’t thank you enough, you just saved my life.”

“It’s fine. I came the moment I received a call from someone.”

Who could have called him?

That moment Gerald stepped outside of the restaurant, he had blood gushing from the side of his mouth from the slap.

Seeing Gerald, Monica concluded it was Gerald who called Mr. Ryan. She embraced him the moment he came closer.

Gerald tilted his head, he was surprised by her gesture.

“Thank you, I knew you wouldn’t allow them to take me away. You called Mr. Ryan.”

Gerald took the opportunity, but deep down he knew he didn’t. "I couldn’t stand and watch them take you away.” He replied.

Austin let out a light cough, “Still taking credit for something we knew you didn’t do.”

Monica narrowed her eyes at him, “You should be thanking him for calling, Mr. Ryan. If not, those men would have taken you away.”

“Victor can’t do more than a dead rat; if we had gone, he would have set me free before we even got to his hideout.”

“I hate braggarts. You should be ashamed of yourself.” She sneered.

Monica felt frustrated by Austin’s words, she wished her father never made the mistake of bringing him into her life. He is nothing but a lowlife and shameless dude.

She felt nothing but embarrassed.

Inwardly, Gerald felt happy. Things are working out for his good. He was shocked to see Mr. Ryan; he knew it would have been impossible if he tried calling Mr. Ryan for help, something his father couldn’t think of doing.

He wished things should continue this way so he could win Monica over completely.

But when would she see the truth?

Monica rolled her eyes disdainfully at Austin, “Mr. Ryan, I apologise on his behalf. He has been like that since I knew him. You shouldn’t blame him; his poverty-stinking life has eaten a large part of his brain.”

Mr. Ryan’s jaw tightened. Seeing how She was talking made him want to slap her. His fist clenched by his side, his face twisted but he held his composure.

Austin wasn’t letting it go; Gerald was always taking credit for his work. “If there is anyone who needs to apologise it should be Gerald. He should as well thank me for buying much time; if they had taken you, Mr. Ryan wouldn’t have come to your aid.”

“You are so arrogant,” she snapped. “It’s enough.”

Monica was beginning to regret knowing Austin; with his attitude, she didn’t wish for even her enemy to come an inch closer to Austin.

Austin frowned at their comments but remained calm, convincing her it would be pointless.

Mr. Ryan stepped in, “It’s alright, Ms. Monica. You can go home; I will talk with Victor, and whatever business brought, this won’t happen again.”

Monica knew she couldn’t raise that amount of money to pay for what her mother did. She was disappointed in her mother for going back to her old habits.

“Thank you, Mr. Ryan. I really appreciate what you have done for me.” She whispered in gratitude.

Before she left she rolled her eyes disdainfully at Austin. While Gerald stopped,

“Mr. Ryan, I appreciate you for helping me.” He said in gratitude before rushing to catch up with Monica.

Austin shook his head, “He is nothing but a fool.”

When Austin got home, Mr. Ryan tilted his head slightly. “How did you know I was there? Who called you?”

Mr. Ryan sighed softly, “Charlie called me.”

Austin raised his brow as his gaze moved to Charlie, who hid his face from his master. “I am sorry; I was worried that something might happen to you.”

He took a deep breath and nodded. “It's fine.”

Charlie hoisted his head, he sighed in relief. At first, he was scared Austin might scold him for What he did, but the opposite happened.

Austin and Mr. Ryan walked into the car, his guard left the two men to discuss.

“Mr. Ryan, I want you to clear the debt of Mrs. Sarah.”

He nodded in understanding, “Yes, I will do that.” He replied.

After, Mr. Ryan left. He went straight to the casino. His car was parked outside, as he waited for Victor. Just then, a tall man walked out of the casino and made his way towards Mr. Ryan.

The door was parted open for him, as he sat beside him. “Mr. Ryan you sent for me.”

“Yes, Victor.” He retorted. “I came to make a deal with you. Earlier, this evening. Your men had an encounter with someone which I know you haven't heard of.”

Victor frowned, his heart was boiling in rage. “Do you want us to kill him?”

“No, I want you to stay away from him.”

“Mr. Ryan, you know it's not possible. He ruined my plan, you know what I am capable of doing. I heard you stopped my men from bringing him over to me. That's not how things are done.”

Mr. Ryan's lips curled into an evil smirk, he could tell Victor wasn't aware of the risk involved if he should lay a hand on Austin.

“I don't want to know how you operate, but I am warning you, Victor. You have to decide, I pay you the money Sarah owes you, and we forget about everything, or you lose everything, including the casino.”

Victor, who was known for being ruthless, had now found himself in a web. His face turned crimson.

Would he like to go against Mr Ryan and risk everything he had worked for, or would he agree to his demands?

He trembled as a cold sweat ran through his body, “I will take the money and forget anything ever happened.”

“That's alright, I will double your money. And don't dare try to double-cross me.”

Mr. Ryan retrieved his phone, inputted a few details and then pressed the enter key. Immediately, Victor's phone beeped from the notification. He took a glance at his phone screen.

“$3 million has been sent to your account.” Mr. Ryan informed.

Victor nodded, “I will do as you said.”

With a light bow, Victor stepped out of the car and waited until the car was out of sight before he walked inside the casino.

His mind raced through several thoughts, “Why would he want Me to stay away from that young man? Are they related? Does the young man have power just like him?” He asked himself inwardly.

He knew not to mess with Mr. Ryan. He was like a mountain that covered his existence. He called his gang for an urgent meeting.

Don’t let him twist your pain into some spiritual delusion.” Dr. Clifford said angrily.“Mr. Churchill, you should put an end to the young man, he is trying to brainwash you into believing his fake stories. Never, he is trying to do something fake so you will get to reward him.”Austin smiled, “What’s cruel is denying a soul her peace. She’s not evil.”“I can handle this, your son is suffering from an autoimmune disease. And not some spirit thing. Dr. Oliver and I will handle this, you can send the man away. Besides you said the priest did his job.”The priest was a well-respected man, whom Vincent paid millions of dollars just to come over to his house.
