HIS BILLION DOLLAR INHERITANCE

“Mr. Ryan, you need to do something or you might lose your uncle.”

The word kept on ringing in Ryan's mind while he was driving to deliver packages to their prospective locations.

Ryan Baker works for Express Cargo, he works as a delivery driver. Express Cargo is one of the best delivery companies in Brentwood.

Ryan had known Uncle Mitchell as his guardian, his uncle had told him that he picked him up from the street and the only thing he knew about him was the necklace he had on and that he noticed he had a birthmark on his left shoulder.

Uncle Mitchell taught Ryan how to have skills in martial arts and driving. Uncle Mitchell had always warned him to stay away from trouble and not get into a fight. 

His Uncle Mitchell has been sick for four years after losing his property due to a fire outbreak and Ryan has tried his best but it was still not enough. 

He has emptied his savings for his uncle's treatment and is now left with nothing. The house rent is due and the landlord continues to disturb Ryan for his money.

Ryan had pleaded with him to exercise patience by the end of the month he will receive his money.

He was reeling in confusion on what to do or who should ask for help, he didn't want to lose his uncle. 

He thought about going to see his boss after his delivery for help.

His boss Mr. Michael Hall, is the manager at Express Cargo. 

Ever since Ryan started working at Express Cargo, the company has been getting good reviews and more deliveries have been coming. But he still wonders why his boss Mr. Michael Hall treats him like trash all the time.

After the delivery for that day, Ryan thought about walking to his boss's office to seek help.

On getting to his boss's office he could hear a sound coming from inside his office. 

It was like a woman moaning in pleasure of being satisfied by a man.

He moved closer to the office and saw that the door was open and he was about to turn but he saw a familiar face. Ryan grabbed the doorknob and pulled the door open.

His eyes widened in surprise and shock from what he saw.

It was his girlfriend Victoria Forster. Victoria and Ryan have been dating for 6 months. He knew that their relationship was not built with money but with love. 

She was on his boss’s lap, riding his boss like someone on a horse race, and whose life depended on it.

Seeing her with his boss was something that shocked him. 

When they both saw him walk into the office, she quickly moved away from Mr. Michael. They both immediately adjusted their dresses back to normal.

“What are you doing here?” Mr. Michael asked with a harsh voice.

His eyes were brimming with anger.

“Did I tell you to come in?”

He gazed at Victoria before moving his gaze towards Mr. Michael who asked him a question.

Ryan's eyes were brewing in anger. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.

“I asked you a question?, what are you doing here and who told you to come in?” Mr. Michael yelled.

He stood rooted at the spot but never cared about what his boss was saying.

“What are you doing here Victoria?” Ryan asked.

“What does it look like I'm doing?” Victoria replied.

“I'm here to spend time with someone that makes me feel better and provides for me. Not a low-life delivery driver like you, Who couldn't even take care of himself and his dying uncle.” She cursed, as she stared at him in disdain.

“What!!” He exclaimed, he gritted his teeth and his eyes turned red in anger.

“You don't even have a dollar to your name, how do you think I can even stay with you? I was only feeling pity for you that was why I agreed and told you to keep it a secret because I don't want people to see me as a loser and with  a common dispatch driver.”  She said and laughed out loud. 

“I thought we loved each other,” Ryan asked with his voice barely above a whisper.

“Who will ever love a nobody like you.”

She moved closer to Mr. Michael and kissed His lips, While Mr. Michael held her waist tightly dragging her closer.

Ryan clenched his fist and watched her with a deadly look.

“Why did you do it? I love you so much Victoria.”

Mr. Michael mimics his statement and they both burst into laughter. 

He gnashed his teeth, as he gave them a cold look.

“What do you know about love?” she taunts.

“You don't deserve me at all. Mr. Michael deserves everything I have,” she said as she moved her hand down to her hips.

He was about to say something before Mr. Michael interjected him.

“Get out of my office now, or I will call the security on you.”

“What if I don't.” He said with an angry tone.

“I will move you out myself,” he said, as he moved closer to push Ryan but Ryan grabbed him by his collar and pushed him towards the wall. 

Mr. Michael couldn't breathe, Victoria tried harder but Ryan was too strong for her, she screamed out for help and two security guards rushed into the office.

It took some moments before they were able to remove his hand from their boss's collar. 

They held both hands apart, while he was struggling. Victoria's right hand landed on Ryan's face, The slap

“Tai”. The slap blurred His vision.

“Take this low life out of my office and make sure he doesn't come back here again,” he said impatiently.

“You are fired,” he said aloud.

Mr. Michael slumped in the velvety chair behind his desk, clutching his head.

“Now you are fired, let's see how you will get a new job and how you will take care of your sick uncle,” Victoria said.

Ryan was dragged out of the office by the security men. 

He felt betrayed by his girlfriend, his heart was tugging in pain. His mind was shrouded with disappointment, betrayal and anger.

He stood still and looked around the building, he just lost his job and the only girl he loved was seen sleeping with his boss.

He was wallowing in deep thoughts until the ringing tone of his phone jerked him out of his reveries.

He stared at his broken phone and saw a number of an unknown caller. 

The call became persistent and he decided to pick it.

“Hello,” he said into the phone.

 “Hello, Ryan, you need to come home immediately.” the caller said, with a shaky voice.
