Chapter 6 - Source of Disaster?

Chapter 6 - Source of Disaster?

"The weapon you currently wield, what are you going to do about it?" Lucianna asked with a curious expression in her face.

"Well..." Hunter muttered as he looked at the powerful, coldly gleaming, electrically buzzing monster-sized rifle in his hand, "...I will keep it. This weapon is a bit powerful to be dumped somewhere like a piece of garbage. Although I have the option of dismantling it to hundreds of parts that can be scattered everywhere to avoid discovery, but I don't want to do so. I have fallen in love with the weapon such that I even named it 'Ten-Fanged Lightning Dragon'. Haha!"

"Hmm. That's a rather fitting name for the rifle. It's truly like a dragon." Lucianna said with the impressed nod of her head.

She then said further when she suddenly thought of something, "But Hunter, how do you explain the machinery parts that got missing?"

"Well, they aren't supposed to know unless you tell them." Hunter said and slightly giggled. While Lucianna simply rolled her eyes at him.

"Be rest assured that I am going to tell the instructors. And you will be asked to pay for the items that you converted into parts for your mechanical arms and rifle." Lucianna playfully said and cackled. While Hunter simply, softly flicked her right ear.

Because of the short-lived, minor disaster event that they passed through together, Hunter and Lucianna had bonded more than ever, becoming so close that they could be seen as best friends.

"Lucianna, you can go right ahead. I want to hide these things on me at a place that is rarely entered by anyone." Hunter said while Lucianna nodded her head.

"Alright, Hunter. Go do so. We will see when you are back." Lucianna said while Hunter immediately turned around to head to a certain place that he felt people rarely entered, as it was a large disposal place for less-useful primitive items, such as equipments and instruments used since year 2130. And the current year was year 10105. So, items from the 2130th year, down to the 9990th year, were extremely primitive for usage and were stored as junk or scraps in this place.

Once he got there like twenty minutes later, since he was trying to avoid being seen by wall-mounted, triple-camera security cams, he kept the rifle in a secured location, as well as the mechanical arms after unequipping them.

Then he immediately turned around and headed to the place that his fellow students were fully gathered at to tidy up everywhere.

They wanted to clean up the numerous piles of rubbles there were scattered here and there, as well as heaps of debris and seemingly countless shiny casings of bullets that littered on the floor.

A minute after he got there, he saw Lucianna who winked at him and continued with what she was doing.

"Hunter, why are you just coming? Where were you?" Instructor Galzael who was worried sick that Hunter had probably been killed off by the enemy soldiers that invaded the school, but was later relieved when Lucianna mentioned that she saw him, asked with slight annoyance in his tone once he arrived in front of him.

He had even been preparing for go look for him and brutally pull him by the ear to where they were all gathered at.

"Sorry, instructor." Hunter said with an apologetic look in his face. While Lucianna who was looking at them from a distance, giggled within herself and carried on with what she was doing.

Two minutes later, the whole building became heavily surrounded by large vehicles that belonged to a global paramilitary body called Global Cyborg Police.

They were cybernetically enhanced police officers who were armed with high-tech crime-fighting gadgets. Also, they were fully equipped with weapons that will fully capacitate them in combating technology-enhanced or sorcery-augmented terrorists. Besides, they had loyal powerful aliens in their ranks who were fully ready to arrest or execute on the spot, any criminal or lawbreaker.

At the moment, they were looking at the buses that belonged to Phantom Smasher which had been cleanly sliced into numerous halves by a marvelously powerful weapon that they couldn't fathom the extent of its fearsome laceration power.

The buses which had thicknesses of four to five inches, and were fully covered in extremely tough armor plates that will easily deflect armor-piercing bullet that could effortlessly penetrate through a mountain of reinforced duitanium alloy; an alloy that was ninety times stronger than steel alloy, had been sliced in an unfathomable manner along with the armored men that were within them.

Analyzing the situation before them gave them great chills, such that their bodies began to freeze within from fear of being faced with such a weapon.

Also, after observing the glittering, purple-red bullet casings that littered everywhere on the ground and radiated an aura of savageness and destructiveness, despite being only ordinary casings for bullets, they became filled with all kinds of emotions.

"It seems like someone really powerful actually interfered." A police officer said with a serious look in his face.

"But why would they interfere? Took pity on the overwhelmed institute and chose to interfere?" Another police officer asked with creased brows.

"Probably. That must have been what happened."

"But what I don't really understand is why a group of dangerously armed terrorists will show up at an institute and unleash both havoc and mayhem. Are the attacks they evilly carried out reprisal attacks against the institution, probably because of one of their members?"

"Must be. Must certainly be. Because I can't think of any other substantial reason."

"Anyway, we would still carry out more investigations. We have to understand what strongly urged the terrorists to show up here and unleash hell."

"Perhaps after our investigation, we would find clues that will lead us to our answers."

As they spoke, vehicles that contained construction workers and were closely followed behind by large construction machines, arrived at the institute and quickly got to work to make constructional repairs to the whole place.

After the corpses of students, instructors and terrorists were moved away, the principal of the academy appeared before the students with a heavy sombre look in his face and said, "Students, I am really sorry about the chaotic brutal event that occurred and you had to experience. I am really sorry."

"However, I am here to tell you that the remaining perpetrators of this crime, no matter how powerful they are, will definitely not go unpunished. They will be fished out soon and thrown into unbearably cold cells where they will await judgements that will cause their lives to cease!"

As soon as he said that, he gestured at an instructor behind him who immediately walked forward to appear before the student, "Since construction is currently going on to fix or replace the structures that were savagely destroyed by terrorists' attacks, I declare the institution closed till further notice."

"But once constructional repairs are complete, and our instructors have re-organized themselves, you will be alerted and later sent the date for resumption. So, for now, go home and stay within your homes. You are dismissed!"

Lucianna quickly came to Hunter's side and said with a smile in her face, "Hunter, since the institute would probably take like a whole month to resume because of constructions and re-organization, can I come to your place, like during the weekends?"

Before Hunter could reply and probably say no, Lucianna said further, "I want you to teach me how to build things. I seriously, can't be compared to you, when it comes to crafting or making really advanced tech or mechanical stuffs. I thought I was better than everyone, until I realized I was only a small spark of flame before a dazzling giant fireball that could illuminate every corner of our vast world with its light."

Hunter looked at her once she mentioned that and said with a certain expression in his face, "Alright, Lucia. You can come."

"But make sure to come along with lots of parts, engineering toolboxes and a forge." Hunter said immediately.

"Yea, I will certainly come with relevant items that you will need to give me proper lessons on mech building. Don't worry." Lucianna said and produced a bright radiant smile in her face.

While Lucianna and Hunter were having discussions with one another, someone was looking at them from afar with a certain look in his face, before he said to a thirty-year old man that had intense black eyes and a large, black octahedral crystal that was embedded at the center of his forehead which emitted a cell-withering and blood-corrupting purple-black radiance, "Khiv, are you sure that's the boy that will become a boundless source of problems to all of us in the future?"

"Yes, that's the boy. And not just us, he will become a problem to this world itself. He is a herald of great calamity, a bringer of catastrophic doom. It's best to take him out now in his cradle and eliminate the disaster that he will bring upon this world!" The young man called Khiv, said with a look in his face.

"Hmm." The man that stood before Khiv and wore an enormously bulky armor, such that it was twelve times the size of a large body armor, and was equipped with numerous powerful weapons; from the top of his massive helmet down to the gigantic metallic soles of his large armor boots, muttered with a certain expression in his face.

Still looking at Hunter as he seriously conversed with Lucianna, he suddenly aimed his right hand that was covered with a massive armor gauntlet at Hunter.

Then a long-range plasma cannon suddenly ejected from the top of the gauntlet in the next second and began to power up to shoot off a focused beam of super-heated plasma at Hunter.

"Khiv, are you really sure that's what the boy will do? Bring disaster upon our world?" The armored man who was named Black Armor, asked with a certain expression in his face. He had a really strong feeling that he was about to do the wrong thing.

"Well, the visions l got were vague. I saw him graduate from this institute and suddenly become the fearsome spiritual leader of a group of fierce, red-eyed mechanical monsters. Next was him becoming a powerhouse that majority of the forces in the world allied with to ravage and destroy every region. Then boom, I saw him emerge from a gigantic explosion of flame, metal and lightning that shattered Earth to countless fragments." Khiv said and shook his head, once he recalled the terrifying vision he suddenly had five days ago.

Hearing that, Black Armor simply produced a smile in his face and lowered his right arm. While the long-range plasma cannon that previously ejected from the top of his enormous armor gauntlet, collapsed back in.

"That's too vague for my liking, Khiv. I can't put an end to an innocent boy's life, simply because we want to eliminate a future source of troubles and disasters." Black Armor said.

Then he continued with an indescribable glow emitting from his eyes, "Anyway, we can keep watch over him. Monitor him for any anomalies. Once he is looking up to be the doombringer that you spoke about, I will be the first to reduce his head to bits. But for now, he is a harmless individual. And what are we if we are scared of a little challenge?"
