Ch 4: Facilities

The environment surrounding Base 12 was completely different from what Instructor Max and the other students had in mind. It was not in a dilapidated state, instead, it was exceptionally vibrant.

The environment and the density of Mystic Energy here were already comparable to their Base 8 or perhaps surpassed it.

What exactly happened here?

It's a pity no one was there to answer them.

"Yes, we are indeed Instructors and students of Base 8. We are here on the orders of our Dean to reclaim a few facilities since they are being wasted here."

Max hurriedly spoke. 

Although he didn't know who this person opposite him was, he understood that Emrys was not an existence he should offend.

The other students of Base 8 were also shivering, not daring to make any movements. Although they could not feel the dreadful aura on Emrys's body like Max, the cat had already frightened them a lot earlier.

"Tell me more about Base 8 and other bases, and also about the academy."

Since these people were already here, how could Emrys not try to fill the gap in his knowledge?

He only knew that the Silent Order Academy was the first-rate force in Sector E, with the principal being a War Overlord Realm warrior and the Deans being War Lord Realm warriors.

As for the rest, he has zero idea.

"You don't know?" Max was startled. He thought since Emrys was staying in Base 12, he should know about these things. He should at least know the basics.

"Should I know?" Emrys raised his brows.

Max's body shook. He hurriedly spoke, "The Silent Order Academy is one of the most ancient institutions within Sector E. It has been there for hundreds of thousands of years already. We don't even know who our academy's founder is."

"Unfortunately, as far as I know, the Silent Order Academy has always been a weak force. It may be a first-rate academy, but that's all. Above first-rate academies are Royal Academies opened by Royal Families and Sacred Academies opened by War Emperors and War Sovereigns. Compared to those academies, our academy is truly not that strong. The strongest in our academy is our Principal, a War Overlord Realm warrior."

"However, for some unknown reason, thousands of years ago, our academy opened up twelve hidden bases to train our seed students. Each of the twelve bases was given all the facilities. Each Base is led by a Dean, and students are hand-picked based on talent, physique, bloodline, or fate."

"All 12 bases train the seed students and send them to the academy after students rise to the rank of a Grandmaster before the age of twenty."

As he spoke, he looked at the students nearby.

Emrys also looked at them and observed that these students should be around 19 years old, and each one of them is a Grandmaster.

He contemplated over the words spoken by Max and understood that he maybe a War Lord, but he was still weak when it comes to truly powerful beings.

But it doesn't matter. He has the system and is destined to become powerful no matter what.

As for the facilities Max talked about, he never actually roamed around the base so he doesn't know what facilities are there.

"So, when are you planning to send these students back to the academy?" Emrys asked.

"After this training session is over, they'll be sent there." Max hurriedly replied.

"I understand. Then let's talk about the facilities. What facilities are available in Base 12?"

Max could not understand why Emrys was unaware of all these things.

Could it be that he is not actually a member of Base 12?

He could not understand many things, but didn't dare to ask. In the end, he still explained. A hint of pride entered his tone as he explained: Our academy may not be counted in ranks of those Royal and Sacred Academies, our facilities are not the slightest bit worse then what they could offer."

"Base 12 was once considered one of the strongest of the hidden bases. It was equipped with some of the finest resources the Silent Order Academy could offer. There are Cultivation Chambers, Elemental Pools, Virtual Training Hall, and Library Pavilion."

"Sadly, most of these facilities have fallen into disrepair over the years. I mean, Elemental Pools were completely destroyed and all the books were taken back to the main academy 20 years ago, so the Library Pavilion should be empty as well. But, Cultivation Chambers and Virtual Training Hall are still operational.”

Emrys nodded. He doesn't know anything about Cultivation Chambers, Virtual Training Hall, or Elemental Pool, but he could still guess a thing or two just from their names. So, he didn't ask Max to explain about these facilities in detail. He didn't want Max to know that he lacked even the basic knowledge about this world.

By now, Emrys had understood most things. However, he was still puzzled about the reason behind the establishment of the twelve bases. Why exactly did the Silent Order Academy create these hidden bases? What was their true purpose?

Shaking his head, Emrys said indifferently, "You can leave now. Whether you decide to use the remaining facilities or claim them, I don't care. Just don't disturb me." 

"Yes, yes, we'll not disturb you, not at all!"

Max and the others were relieved and immediately scrambled away. They didn't leave the base immediately Base 12, instead, they went deeper. Since Emrys had already told them to do what they wanted, he didn't care, Max decided to train these students for a bit before leaving.

Of course, although Emrys had given permission to take away the facilities if he wants, he didn't dare to.

Every facility is costly. Base 8 only have five Virtual Training Capsules. They came to Base 12 to retrieve the exactly these Virtual Training Capsules so that more people could get the opportunity to train themeselves virtually.

Since Base 12 used to be the most powerful of all bases, it had 10 Virtual Training Capsules, which is essential for any institute.

Max led everyone directly to the Virtual Training Hall.

Emrys silently watched them. Although he didn't ask for the details, it doesn't mean he didn't want to know. He decided to watch these people secretly and learn more about these facilities and how they work.
