The crew ended up spending more than half an hour discussing about the plans to infiltrate the dark tower, how to act within it, how to avoid suspicions, path to follow, and where to find certain important people inside the tower.

Most of the explanation was done by Peterson, the trustworthy assassin of Melissa's squad. His information and description were clear and vivid—better than reading it from a map.

Melissa and a few members of her squad also added to the information available. As they had been around the tower for several days, their understanding of the place was an important lesson to William and the others.

During their discussions, they had to halt several times—either when the surveillance light flashed in their direction or when actual members of the cult walked by.

They were able to finish their discussion without drawing that much attention to themselves.

After they were done discussing, they began preparing to act on the plans they had just finalized.

"Here."

Melissa brought out a black necklace from a ring worn on her finger and handed it to William. The necklace had a small, round ornamental crystal that radiated a faint glow in the dark.

"Wear this. This will help cloak your strange powers and emit something similar to mana. This way, you can easily merge with the others," she explained.

William stared at the beautiful yet grim necklace for a few seconds before putting it on.

He received a notification from the system after he had worn it.

There was no weird sensation accompanying the necklace. It felt like a normal necklace despite its special effect.

"Now that introduction and briefing are over, let's go straight to business," Melissa said.

Both groups nodded, and then they began moving together.

They divided themselves into four groups. William, Peterson, and King Julian were part of the same group. The hero especially requested to be with the king always, as his mission involved protecting him aside from conquering the cult.

Theobald went with another group, and quickly they dispersed and acted like regular cultists patrolling the fences of the dark island.

Their movement brought no suspicion to the eyes of the actual members.

When they came into contact with any of them, they greeted them, and one time William even held a discussion with one cultist who wanted to talk about the grand ritual that he claimed would begin in a few hours.

Although William was not the talkative type, he still managed to strike up a conversation, and even though he was confused, he spoke in a way that hid his confusion.

Peterson was even impressed by his ability to pull it off without sounding like a fool.

"I was ready to kill him should you slip up. Glad you didn't," the tall assassin whispered.

"Tch."

William returned his attention to his surroundings—the noise of the dark waters flowing still sounded quite clearly as they were very close to the shore. The sky remained dark since it was still nighttime.

Strolling around the fences, William realized just how big and vast they were.

They had strolled for about three hours, and they had only covered about forty percent of its perimeter.

"The cultists inside—how many are they?" William asked Peterson.

"Not much—around five thousand," Peterson replied half-heartedly.

'Five thousand wizards is not much? Just how strong is this guy?' William wondered.

"We've reached the entrance."

A few minutes after the last conversation, the group finally arrived at the supposed entrance.

"Entrance? There is no opening in sight," one of Muzez Kingdom's soldiers said, confused.

"It is a magic fence, dumbass. You do not expect a powerful magic organization such as the Gravemind Orders to have an actual opening," Peterson replied while casually strolling toward the fence. His colleagues followed him while William and company slowed down behind.

The soldier whom Peterson had insulted felt enraged. Unfortunately, after hearing about the assassin's feat, he knew he stood no chance against him. He had no choice but to calm himself.

"We should go with them," William suggested to the others who had halted, as he accompanied them toward the gigantic fence that enclosed the cult's evil.

Peterson arrived before the foreboding wall and simply walked toward it as though there were no wall at all.

'Is he crazy?' the soldier thought, cussing inwardly at the arrogant assassin's movement.

But in the next seconds, his mouth fell open, and his eyes widened in genuine surprise.

Under his astonished gaze, Peterson permeated the sturdy wall as though it were just an illusion. His colleagues behind him also passed through the wall as if it were nothing.

'Interesting,' William muttered inwardly.

He signaled for King Julian—who was just as surprised as the soldier—to come with him.

Once both of them reached the wall, they easily walked through it as though it were nothing but fresh air.

The perplexed soldier regained his composure quickly and rushed toward the wall. He shut his eyes as he let his body make contact with the sturdy fence.

He felt a strange, warm sensation as he was pulled into the dark island.

William and King Julian halted once they arrived inside. The view of the maleficent island lay bare before their eyes, sparking varied reactions within the two.

The first thing that caught their breath was the hundreds of dark-robed wizards strolling around casually—individually and in groups.

Several of them could be seen displaying their magic together, some discussed among themselves. William even spotted one wizard practicing a spell that allowed him to turn his hands into a dark, venomous snake.

Aside from the large crowd moving around, there were many houses spread across the vast island. The place felt like a city and a marketplace combined.

Their gaze also stretched far toward the maleficent tower that oversaw the entire island and its activities. It was a bizarre sight.

Noise from different activities made the place more hectic. The atmosphere held a dark presence that the king and the hero failed to understand. It was an odd feeling that welled inside them.

If Peterson and his colleagues had not come to stop them, they would have continued gawking at the maleficent and magnificent scene for hours.

Only two members were allowed to attend the meeting thus both of them were sent."The first three floors are very easy to clear, they comprise mostly of mid-level apprentice wizards with barely enough mana in their mana reserve to cast powerful spells. William and the crew could be seen strolling towards the vast water body with silent and cautious step. At the moment, each of them had a long black fabric covering their head.
