Logan was pissed off at the middle-aged man who was holding onto his brother’s trousers. He wanted to push him aside, but Lucas gestured to him at once to let the man be.
“Who are you?” “My name is Dexter Buffet, Sir! You have to save my daughter! You are our only hope! Please!” Lucas remained calm, staring at Dexter whose eyes were almost filled with tears that were ready to drop at any moment. “What is wrong with your daughter?” Logan asked, seeing how sad the man looked. “She was badly injured after an accident! Nobody wants her! She has suffered greatly! You have to help me! She is very important to me!” The tears finally left Dexter’s eyes, and he didn’t even bother about the pain in his knees. Lucas had a nostalgic feeling as he thought about the man’s request. Three years earlier, Lord Orson Avilla came to him in tears. The old man pleaded that he save his granddaughter Jemima who was suffering from a strange sickness. All the Doctors in the City had tried and failed, and it was only Lucas who was able to figure out what was wrong with her. He cured her instantly. “The last time I helped someone, I had a terrible experience afterward. I don’t think I can help you, Mr. Buffet. Go home…” “No, Sir! I beg you! I can do anything you want! My daughter is very rich! She owns a big company! I am sure she can pay you any amount once she gets better!” “How dare you insult my brother?!” Logan raged. “Does he look like he needs your money?! Do you know how rich and powerful he is?!” “No, Sir! I didn’t mean to insult your brother! I am truly sorry!” Dexter bowed instantly, making sure that his head touched the ground. “My darling Daisy has suffered greatly! She doesn’t deserve this!” Dexter shed more tears, looking entirely helpless at that moment. Lucas was touched, but he was still very skeptical about helping the man. Even Logan felt a little pity for him. Lucas sighed. He knew that the man was going to be very heartbroken if he didn’t agree to help him. “I will help you, but on one condition…” “Anything at all! Whatever you want!” Dexter interrupted Lucas who frowned at him. “I am sorry, Sir! Please don’t change your mind!” “I will tell you what my condition is after I am done with your daughter. Tell me where your daughter is and I will be there.” “But, Sir…” “Go home, Mr. Buffet. You heard what my brother said.” Logan interrupted Dexter who got up from the ground, told them the address, and walked into his car. Lucas and Logan watched him as he drove off until he was no longer visible. “Will you help him? He looked so forlorn Lucas.” Logan said out of pity for Dexter. “I will help him. These gifts I have will mean nothing if I can’t help people with them.” Lucas retorted shortly before they got into one of the cars they came with and left. Logan kept some of his soldiers around the Estate to make sure that Jemima or her mother were not going to be able to access the mansion. As soon as he got to Rose Haven, Lucas picked up some of the things he needed and left for the address Dexter told him. He was quick to arrive to the surprise of Dexter and his wife. They were both standing in front of their house and looking out for him. “Divine Healer?! You came!” Dexter exclaimed, ushering Lucas into the house. “I always keep to my words. Take me to your daughter.” “This way, please.” Dexter led Lucas to a room by the left corner of the building while his wife Stacy followed suit. She was relieved that there was hope for her daughter. An offensive stench hit Lucas as soon as he stepped foot into the room. But there was no one inside, just an empty bed and thick curtains covering everywhere. “Daisy? Someone is here to see you.” Dexter said. “Go away! I don’t want to see anyone!” A fragile voice muttered. It was hard to tell if it was a male or female voice. Lucas sensed pain in the voice. He had to move close to the direction instantly. He noticed that Dexter and his wife didn’t want to go into the room because of the stench while they twisted their noses, but he didn’t bother about them. “Daisy? Is that you?” Lucas said calmly, still moving slowly in that direction. The curtain in front of him was bulged, meaning that someone was hiding there. “Daisy? It’s okay. I am here to help you. Can you please come out?” “No! I can’t I don’t want to scare you! Everyone thinks I am a monster! They run away as soon as they see me!” “I won’t run. I promise.” Lucas insisted, going closer until there were just a few meters between him and Daisy. “I am still waiting for you, Daisy. I am only here to help, I promise not to run.” “Are you sure?” She asked with a voice laced with so much doubt. “Why don’t you find out yourself?” Lucas waited patiently even though it took a while before Daisy finally came out of hiding. He was taken aback as soon as he saw her, but he was able to get a grip on himself. She was seated in a wheelchair. Her face was burnt beyond recognition, causing her to look like a monster. Many parts of her body suffered the same fate. “I am so sorry, Daisy. I will make sure you smile again. No one will ever make fun of you.” Lucas moved closer to Daisy to observe her, but she had something to whisper to him. “Please take me away from here. They treat me with so much cruelty like I am not their child. I will do anything you want.”

The Messengers
The four men were marveled that their revered leader didn’t do anything even after he was slapped very hard by Scarlett across his face. He staggered backward, rubbing his left hand on his cheek without saying a word. Scarlett was ready to hit him again. “What are you doing here?!” She was furious, fuming in an intense rage. Lucas turned to his mother and gave her the kind of look that was eager for an explanation. The leader of the group was rubbing his cheek, and as some point, he looked at his companions who were expecting him to react. “We are here to see the Divine Healer, Scarlett. We were told that he lives here now.” Lucas stepped forward. “Who are you?” He was still curious, and since his mother was not prepared to say the reason why she hit the man, he didn’t bother to ask. “My name is Seth, Divine Healer, and these are my companions. We are the messengers of the Emperor of Narmia. We travelled all the way from the East to see you.” From what the leader of th

Logan was beginning to pay attention to his brother, but each time he turned to his wife, she shook her head to dismiss Lucas’s claim. “My wife is not a child, Lucas. I am sure you must be mistaken.”“No, I am not, Logan. She is pregnant and needs all the attention she can get. I am guessing this is your first son.” Iris laughed hysterically, and Logan had to force himself not to join her. “First, you said I was pregnant, and now you already know the gender of the child you claim is in my womb.” “Hmm-mm.” Lucas’ confidence was unwavering, and to help resolve the issue, Briana decided to step in.“I have a pregnancy test kit!” She announced, avoiding her mother’s eyes.Scarlett furrowed her brows. “What do you need that for?!” She asked, but Briana was already on her way out of the living room. She returned as soon as she could and handed the kit over to Iris. “I think this will tell us the truth, Iris.”Iris scoffed. “There is no way I am doing any stupid test! In the midst of everything that had been going on, no one considered what Lucas had to say.His silence was considered a consent to everything that Vance said, but that wasn’t the case. “Don’t I have a say in this, Mr. Phoenix?” He finally broke his silence, expression a little displeasure while he stared with a smirk.Vance took a deep breath. “I know how this sounds, Lucas Foden. But this is the only thing that will make me happy. Marry my daughters, and you will give me profound peace.”“All of them?” Lucas inquired, and the old man nodded. “Yes, all of them.” Lucas scoffed. “I don’t think I can handle your three daughters all together, Mr. Phoenix.” He looked at Lara and her sisters, and because they were still upset, they rolled their eyes at him one after the other. “I have some other things to do, Mr. Phoenix. We are done here since the purpose of my coming has been fulfilled.”The Divine Healer was ready to leave, but the old man was still desperate. “Please, Lu
Marry Them
Lucas forgot that he was in a hurry to leave. “You knew my father?” He asked, and Vance nodded with a smile. “We were best of friends, Lucas. Your brother didn’t tell you?” Lucas shook his head, unable to fight the urge to hear more from the old men.Vance turned to Lola. “Why didn’t you tell me Lucas Foden was the Divine Healer?” He didn’t look pleased with his daughters, and none of them had any excuse for their omission.”"We are sorry, Father.” Lara apologized on behalf of his sisters, but their father wasn’t bothered anymore. “I am sorry for what happened to you, Lucas,” Vance had an emotional look in his eyes, staring with wide eyes. “That was a long time ago, Mr. Phoenix.” Lucas forced a smile, not certain of which of his ordeals the old man was speaking of. Just then, the old man made a decision that was about to change the fate of his three daughters. He cleared his throat, and when it seemed like he was not going to be able to get rid of the clog that gripped h

Vance gasped as soon as he heard those words that resonated with echoes of hope and recovery in his ears.“The Divine Healer is here?!”His eyelids flickered, but his blinded eyes were not going to see Lucas. “Are you sure you brought him, Lola? I heard he was killed in a fire.” “He is standing right here in front of you, Father,” Lara assured, turning to Lucas with an assuring smile. Vance nodded, and then he started gripping, trying to sit up.The two stewards behind him quickly grabbed him and helped him up.“Divine Healer? If you are truly here, please save me!” His voice was laced with pangs of pain, but he still tried as much as he could to hold onto the hope that his daughters had given to him. Lucas stepped closer to the old man, still making his observations while everyone turned their attention to him. “Your Brain, Mr. Phoenix.” “What about his brain?” Lola asked the same question that her father would have asked if it had been possible for him to get rid of th

Logan had gone to remind Lucas about his promise to the Phoenix sisters. He knocked on the door twice, and then he pulled the handle. “Going somewhere?” He inquired, seeing that Lucas was fully dressed that early morning.“I made a promise to Lara and her sisters, Logan. I don’t intend to go back on my words.” Lucas was already on his way out of the large bedroom, and Logan joined him at once. On their way striding along the hallway, Lucas looked at the portraits of his father hanging in different spots on the walls.A heavy sigh left him, but he was distracted by the appearance of his sister.Briana was curious. “Where are you going so early, Lucas?” She was worried that he was leaving them, especially as she saw the brown portable box he was carrying. Lucas chuckled softly, amused by the look on her face. “Cheer up, Briana. I am not leaving.”“So where are you going?” Briana returned her gaze to Lucas since Logan didn’t look like he was going to answer her question.“So
