Chapter 1
LIFE AND DEATH
A man with a face marked by years of hardship and torment looked up at the colossal blue dragon with nine severed heads. He was in an ancient jade hall that hummed with the mystery of cosmic law. Time and space divine mana flowed through the surroundings like fish gliding through a pond. It was calm, serene—and ancient. But Ethan only saw the dead colossal dragon the ancient immortals once called "Chaos Harbinger." "Cough, cough... God, I'm about to die," Ethan muttered, blood trickling from his white teeth. His insides screamed with unbearable pain. The beast was a Heavenly-level creature, yet its strength rivaled that of a Hellish beast. [ You are about to die. Choose your next course of action. ] A voice chimed in his head—soft and calm. "Fuck, I know," Ethan gritted his teeth, clutching his chest. Looking back, he saw flashes of his family and fallen comrades. They were all gone now. He wished there had never been a dungeon break—then maybe he'd still have them by his side, living as a normal man, going to work like a mundane. He remembered how his comrades were brutally slaughtered as if they were just bags of meat. The thought pushed him to the edge. Though he had mastered his emotions long ago, this one wouldn't fade. These were his close comrades—those he believed would reach the end of this bitter road with him. He cursed under his breath. Such is life. In the end, even the strongest fall. Even the old immortal who once controlled the cosmos and balanced life and death now stood on the brink of dying. Shouldn't a being who could control life and death be terrifying? Then why was he dying? How did it even begin? He remembered—just like the countless stories he read back in elementary school. It started a hundred years ago. --- The day began like any other. Children ran. Couples laughed. The world was calm—until it wasn't. A deafening boom shook Central Park. Panic spread instantly. Many thought it was a terrorist attack. But they were wrong. In the middle of the blast, a massive yellow portal appeared—circular, glowing fiercely, hovering in the air. Everything around it melted under its heat. The atmosphere turned heavy, dread filling every breath. People began backing away, terrified. Some influencers pulled out their phones to record. Thirty minutes later, the army arrived, surrounding the area with a one-mile barricade. Silence hung over the park. Then— BANG! A massive scaled arm ripped through the portal, followed by a monster with pale skin, bulging muscles, claws sharp as blades, and fangs dripping with hunger. It dropped onto all fours, radiating pure killing intent. The commander froze—then roared: "Open fire! Kill that abomination!" Gunfire rattled the air, but the bullets bounced harmlessly off its skin. ROAAAAAR! The beast lunged, ripping a soldier in half before anyone could blink. Chaos erupted. Screams filled the park as more creatures spilled from the portal. Bombs became the only effective weapons—but even then, it took ten elite operatives to bring each monster down. By the time the wave ended, over five hundred people were dead. The government declared martial law. The world, horrified, named the incident— The Doom Dungeon. --- Two months later, a reckless group snuck into the portal. Inside, they discovered another world—swarming with the same horrors, later named Skin Crawlers. Their strength, speed, and agility defied human comprehension. Yet strangely, those who fought them began to change. They started to feel and control a strange energy—mana. Some bent fire and water. Others gained monstrous strength. Some twisted their bodies into new forms. They were later known as the Awakened. For two long months they fought. Through blood and death, they learned to harness mana. In the end, they struck down the dungeon's boss, and the survivors returned to Earth. From that day onward, dungeon breaks began appearing all over the world. Years passed, and countless heroes rose. Awakened fighters grew so powerful they rivaled governments themselves. Eventually, under the pressure of martial law, a coup erupted. The military seized control, and from the ashes rose the Top Nine Guilds—the most powerful forces in the new world.

MONARCH OF SPACE AND TIME All of you are dead
Ethan arrived at the restaurant and immediately felt the dagger-like stares his friends were giving him.“Alright, I’m sorry. Drinks on me,” Ethan said, waving them off.“Nah, bro. You’re giving us a banquet,” Freddy replied.“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” Ethan sighed as he sat down. “Ten full chickens, please,” he called to the waiter.“Eh? Don’t tell me you’re the only one eating ten full chickens,” Gloria asked, puzzled.“Nah, it’s for everybody,” Ethan replied.Lynx ordered ten bottles of liquor, and the four of them drank for seven straight hours.Despite the amount of liquor they consumed, none of them got intoxicated. After awakening and learning to control mana, one could use pure mana to refine alcohol out of their system. Although it usually required a great deal of control, it was relatively easy for them.Another six hours passed as the group continued to wine, dine, gossip, and joke. By now, their table was filled with mountains of plates and empty bottles.Lynx and Freddy had

MONARCH OF SPACE AND TIME what's that girls deal
Ethan and Lynx had finally reached their rooms, and the first thing Ethan did was call Freddy and Gloria.“I am having a tequila,” Gloria said over the video call. It looked like she was in a bar.“Damn, that was fast. You couldn’t even wait for us,” Ethan chuckled.“I looked around, and I couldn’t find you guys,” she said, shrugging.“Eh, what about Freddy?” Ethan asked.“I don’t know. I thought I heard he was going to the lounge,” she replied.“No, I can’t find him here,” Ethan said.“Look, we have to stay together. I’m afraid the ‘rest’ they said we’re here for is more than that,” Ethan added.“What do you mean?” Gloria asked, confused.“Seriously? I thought you knew,” Ethan said, disappointed.“No, mister, I don’t fucking know. That’s why I fucking asked you,” she snapped, annoyed that Ethan underestimated her.“Okay, okay, let me explain,” Ethan continued. He then told her what he knew, which shocked her.“Eh, I have an Ascended bodyguard with me, but his shift is almost over. I’

MONARCH OF SPACE AND TIME TOO SLOW
Ethan stared at the trio for a bit, then sheathed his Death Blade. Seeing what Ethan did shocked not only the trio but also Lynx."You are wasting my time. Step back," Ethan said calmly.Silas looked at Ethan and laughed."Just like what Alex said. Arrogant to the core. But too bad—you’re going to die anyway," Silas said."Oh, I’d like to see you try," Ethan chuckled.Like a breeze, Ethan passed the trio standing at the front door. The trio felt chills instantly. They couldn’t even react in time. When Ethan reached the main door, they rushed backward in shock as if death itself had walked past them."How? Why couldn’t I sense him when he passed us? Is that some type of technique or aspect?" Silas thought, gritting his teeth as cold sweat dripped down his face."Like I said, you’re wasting my time," Ethan said casually."Shut up, doofus. It’s just some movement technique. You’re dying today, man!" Silas cursed.Lynx watched from the side. The way Ethan handled the situation genuinely i

MONARCH OF SPACE AND TIME SPLURGE
A pair of feet came down from the chopper. Figures followed suit as they began walking in random paths.Ethan stretched his body as he looked at the state-of-the-art city. High-end cars moved through the streets like electrons moving through a cable. Tall, towering skyscrapers that screamed of high-status class were everywhere.Right now, they were still on the Eternal Dawn Star Ship, and this city was the Residential Zone. Even though this was his second time coming here, Ethan was still flabbergasted. This city was the size of New York. On the side roads were middle- to high-class citizens; you wouldn't even find a single low-class person here. The Axion Guild was much more powerful than he thought. He also heard rumors that there were other star ships like this, but their names and locations were kept confidential."Damn," Freddy said, moping around like Ethan."First let's get something to celebrate," Gloria added, hitting Ethan on the back. "You're paying for my tequila," she sai

MONARCH OF SPACE AND TIME END OF THE FINAL TRIAL
Ethan and the group walked on the silent street. The street was deserted, and there were rotting corpses of beasts in the area. The sun was blazing hot, which made Ethan wonder how the Axion Guild and the military managed all of this."God, why is it so deserted?" Gloria asked, cleaning her sweat."You don’t have to worry. No one can escape Ethan’s senses," Freddy said."We’ve got three figures tailing us from the back. They’re all at middle-stage Awakening," Ethan said, hands in his pockets."Well, that shouldn’t be a problem," Gloria said."The problem is they’re being used as bait," Lynx said."Why would anyone do that?" Freddy asked."It’s simple. We’re walking in the open. They probably think we’re formidable enough to do that, so they’re being cautious," Ethan said."So why are we walking in the open?" Lynx asked curiously."Because I want to draw out the big fish," Ethan said.[Congratulations, your Intelligence has increased by 20][Sub Attributes: Intelligence 140, Charm 50,

MONARCH OF SPACE AND TIME THE THING
In the dark room, figures that radiated an oppressive aura were seen watching a wide screen. On the top-left corner was a list of cadets all numbered from 1 to 100. It was the ranking table, and on the top list Ethan was overtaken by a girl named Chloe. Chloe was first, Ethan was second, and third place was taken by Alex."Seems your boy was overtaken by a girl," the calm one laughed. The bold one grunted as he gave the calm one a sharp gaze."Pull up the file of Chloe for me," he said."Yes, sir," a voice sounded behind him.Immediately, the figure swiped his bracelet and a holographic screen hovered before his face. He ran the holographic keyboard swiftly. In less than ten seconds, a photo came up together with information."Her name is Chloe Starforge. There is not much information on her, but it was said she is an orphan. Both parents died in a Xeridian ambush on the far east of Stellar Nexus, on a planet named Artemis," the voice said."Interesting," the calm one said. They had h
