The dark clouds formed in thick heavy clusters darken and dense with water, a silver lining in between, as the sky lit up in milliseconds. The dust air swept through the estate, as the wind blew. George walked out of the Langston estate with his arms clasped against each other, his thin shirt did nothing against the biting cold. He was raging inside, his heart had been cut into a thousand pieces by the same woman he loved.
"How could you hurt me like this?" He managed to ask but it felt horrible.
Tiny droplets of rain began to fall, hitting him softly and soon the tiny drops increased to large clumps of rainfall, and in no time he was drenched.
"Who's there!" The estate security had called, pointing his torchlight at the figure approaching, George slowly raised his gaze, the security man's face widened in shock.
"Sir George?" He muttered lifting the cap of the raincoat he wore, as he watched him approach the estate gate.
"Please open the gates, Joe" George said quietly under the blazing rainfall.
"It's raining sir... where are you going? Your family kicked you out again?" He asked, feeling pity for him. "You can come stay with me..."
"Joe... I'll be fine, just open up the gates for me" George replied.
"But it's late and it's raining...."
"Joe..."George called stronger this time, Joe sighed, and then opened the gates as he watched him walk pitifully out of the estate.
The rain splashed hurt, but the betrayal hurt more. By the roadside, a car headlight flashed at him, and he quickly used his arm to block the light from entering his eyes.
Just then, a silhouette of an old man, by the aid of his cane, got out of the car, hefty men dressed in black suits, got out of the car behind, one with a black umbrella as he covered him up immediately. Others positioned themselves at the perimeter backing them.
"So they kicked you out..." the old man's voice cracked, George raised his gaze at him to meet the eyes of the old man as confession etched his face.
"Who are you?" He asked.
The old man smiled, revealing his perfect teeth, well arranged for his age but they did have dents in them. A smile, more like a smirk widened the wrinkled face of the old man.
"Welcome home, my grandson." He said briefly, "I'm sure Leo had told you about me" he said, sounding rather cocky.
"So you are my grandfather?" George asked. His game looked around, the men in black, this looked more like a Mafia setting.
The old man noticed his fears, the immediately said, "They are trained bodyguards to keep our family safe."
"How are you here?" George said
"I have always been here. And I am here to take you home."
"Home?"George frowned, "What home?"
"It's been twenty-eight years since you left home, now it's time for you to return and resume your duties. I sent Leo to help you and now it's time..."
George's frowned deepen, and the echoes of the rain had fallen silent in his ears. "I can't.... I'm with the Langston...."
"The same Langston family who threw you out."the old man cut off, looked at him, he was the striking image of his mother, his daughter now passed.
He sighed and paused before saying. "Your grandfather is old and fragile, my body cannot stand the wits of this weather....let's go home and I will tell you everything."
George stood there, there was nothing to lose, The Langstons cast him out. Even his own wife abandoned him. What are the odds that he is the prodigal grandson of a trillionaire magnate?
He had nowhere else to go, he lost both his job and wife today. Then he heard a deep sigh of relief, the cold was beginning to get to him.
"Fine.....I will go with you." He said softly, one of the men escorted him to the black SUV Jeep.
"Thank you.." the old man said, and just like that the car drove off, out of the city, heading to their destination.
The car ride was silent, just the wind blowing and the bash of rainfall against the window.
George slowly remembered Bianca, swift rage consumed him,as he clenched his fist. This didn't go unnoticed by the old man.
"Thinking about her again? I knew she was a bad choice" his hoarse voice said. George snapped his gaze at him.
"She's not! She's just confused..." he resorted, the old man stared at him, even though he was trying to mask it, his grandson was deeply hurt. It reminded him of the same look his daughter had when his father denied her pregnancy.
"Being with her would complicate your life further, trust me...and it's a good thing you both are separated."He blurts out.
"Why would you say that? "His voice trailed, "unless, you had something to do with it "
The old man chuckled, "Me? George, I have better things to do than split up a couple whose union is doomed to fail from the start."
"Doom to fail?"
"Your in-laws despised you but believe me, their hate isn't the same as the one you have already"
Confusion laced his face, "What are you talking about?" Before the old man could speak he cut in,
"And why do I need to listen to you, you abandoned me... Remember?"George looked at the old man the question had panged him, for a while, then he paused and said,
"Why now?" His voice broke the silence in the car.
The old man turned softly, "Why?"
"Why show up now? It's been twenty-eight years, don't you think you're too late?"
The old man let out a small laugh, "I am on time.... believe me if I were to come for you earlier....you would have been dead by now."
"What?" George turned in shock. The old man nodded his head, "Yes.."
"What do you mean by I'll be dead?"

Chapter 8: A New Love
The Langston open field had been decorated to the nines-or so the planners had intended. Each of the twelve ivory rose and pale gold floral pillars that marched the length of the yard, stood dressed in the most diaphanous white silk. Each floral arrangement, twined through the ivory roses, connected in three varied sizes of diamond and crystal chandeliers suspended by arches, strung over the rows of precisely arranged plump chairs spread over the lawn, their lights flickering in the light of the diminishing sun. Business moguls, politicians, and socialites alike sat face to face, awaiting the biggest wedding of the society season.Right in the center of it all sat a giant floral altar at the end of a long, white aisle, complete with white flowers. The scene could have been a wedding advertisement, and was picture-perfect.It was just not for the bride.Bianca stood at the opposite end of the white aisle from the guests and bridegroom who would be arriving in a few moments, her face a
