Chapter 1: Mr. Peasant
Langston's Estate was buzzing with music, with different lights flashing through the windows; it was nighttime already. The party reeked of alcohol and recklessness. George stood at the end of the living room, with a tray clasped around his chest. His face looked tired and hungry but his master wouldn't let him go."Hey! Page boy.....drinks!!" Marcus yelled, trying to turn up the music. But George didn't move; he stood, starry-eyed, at the estranged son of the Langston family, Marcus. He was more like the degenerate of the family with his flamboyant behavior and Playboy status. Even with that, the Langston family stopped placing him as the Heir of the Langston Estates, and even George's wife, his sister works herself up to keep the family afloat."Didn't you hear me, you lowlife!!!" Marc called again, George swallowed the lump at the back of his throat, "Your parents and grandmother would be back, they wouldn't like this. " George managed to say, he didn't want to be the one who would
Chapter 2: No Marriage
Bianca walked into her parents' room, furious, with bloodshot, red eyes."Why didn't you two do anything??" She questioned, as soon as she got in, the look on their faces threw her off."What are you talking about?" Her father requested, in a deep frown."Grandma humiliated my husband!" She said, "Or didn't you see it?""Your husband? You think your grandmother is pleased with your little escapade with him?" Her mother fired back."You got married to him without our consent, did you? So deal with the consequences." Bianca clenched her fist."I am twenty-five years old. I'm not a kid and for the record, I love my husband." She said firmly."But does he love you?" Her grandmother's voice said from behind, with the gentle thud of the shut door."Why would you say that? You don't know him and you haven't even given him the benefit of the doubt." She answered back. Her grandmother smiled, then turned back facing the beach painting hanging on the wall, her hands crossed behind her back, she
Chapter 3: Goodbye George
The wheels of the stretcher screeched along the hospital hallway. Bianca held on to her grandmother's hand as the other nurses wheeled her into the emergency room. She looked like one who had just jumped out of a tornado, her hair was a mess, and her makeup was ruined. She had been crying all through the ambulance ride. With her clasped hand, she prayed that her grandmother was fine. Sighting the waiting chairs, she sat in one of them, her hand running through her hair."Babe?" George's voice echoed, she slowly lifted up her gaze to meet her husband's, her eyes filled with tears, she stood up abruptly, slammed into his embrace, bursting into tears."I'm sorry...." his soothing voice weakened her the more. "It's all my fault."She immediately shook her head in denial. "Don't say that...you were only protecting me...""Now look, your grandmother is fighting for her life right now."Just then, approaching steps were heard, and they both turned to see her family rushing towards them."Mo
Chapter 4: In Exile
The dark clouds formed in thick heavy clusters darken and dense with water, a silver lining in between, as the sky lit up in milliseconds. The dust air swept through the estate, as the wind blew. George walked out of the Langston estate with his arms clasped against each other, his thin shirt did nothing against the biting cold. He was raging inside, his heart had been cut into a thousand pieces by the same woman he loved."How could you hurt me like this?" He managed to ask but it felt horrible.Tiny droplets of rain began to fall, hitting him softly and soon the tiny drops increased to large clumps of rainfall, and in no time he was drenched."Who's there!" The estate security had called, pointing his torchlight at the figure approaching, George slowly raised his gaze, the security man's face widened in shock."Sir George?" He muttered lifting the cap of the raincoat he wore, as he watched him approach the estate gate."Please open the gates, Joe" George said quietly under the blazi
Chapter 5: Mr. Whitemore
The look in the old man's eyes was rather confusing. Then his wrinkled face shifted to a smile."You will know soon enough...that sometimes the things we see are not what it seems like." He said quietly. He rested his back on the car seat. George stared at him for a moment, "He knows something that I don't.." his thought said inwardly, "So.....Whitemore.....how rich is Whitemore?" George was throwing off his gaze at the window. He noticed they had driven past a gate and the serenity looked heavenly, it was night but he could see the beauty of the greenery."Rich? That's an insult.." the old man scoffed. "We are money itself" he boasted, and just immediately, the car drove into the vast beauty of a kind view. The Whitemore build stood tall and Eminent, the golden light casting off its beauty. The building looked like the house of a British king, with the same structure and design. From the marble pillars to the gold-lit windows and the center fountain, it was just perfect. The car ca
Chapter 6: Where's your Wife
The silence in the living room was more deafening than the silence in her heart. Her voice trailed, as she finally asked,"Why? Where's your wife?" she noticed the change in his countenance. He took a sip of the wine he had in mid-air, "She's getting married." He told her carelessly."Getting married? How is your....oh..my head hurts" she said rolling her eyes as she held her temples."Well, got divorced today..." he announced, Lily stared in disbelief, "Your wife divorced you?" Trying to wrap her head around the possibility. "What happened?" She managed to ask, "Don't know....but would you go on a date with me?""George, do you think it's wise to attend the wedding?" she asked, he smiled, taking another sip, "I want to see the man she chose over me" he answered, looking at her, all he saw was pity in her eyes."Don't feel sorry for me, I should have known, her money-hungry family would get to her."Lily sighed, "Well, I guess we're not so opposite...I too have family issues. To thi
Chapter 7: A Wedding Anniversary
Two weeks later.....It's been two weeks since George was last kicked out of the Langston residence, and the experience has been both thrilling and dark. George sat in his study room, going through some files of the company. It had been like this ever since, Leo dumped a whole bunch of company files for him to review the whole day, and left him hanging. His phone buzzed with notifications, and he abandoned the files immediately opening his phone to see the notification popped up on his phone, "wedding anniversary to the love of my life"The calendar read, his heart clenched, and all the hurt he had buried the past few days just kept coming back.He tossed his phone to the other side, only if they were still together, he had planned and reserved a date for them tonight to talk to her about his real identity and gift her an anniversary present."What are you lost in thought about?" Leo's voice echoed from the door, shattering his thoughts and snapping him back to reality.George frowne
Chapter 8: A New Love
The Langston open field had been decorated to the nines-or so the planners had intended. Each of the twelve ivory rose and pale gold floral pillars that marched the length of the yard, stood dressed in the most diaphanous white silk. Each floral arrangement, twined through the ivory roses, connected in three varied sizes of diamond and crystal chandeliers suspended by arches, strung over the rows of precisely arranged plump chairs spread over the lawn, their lights flickering in the light of the diminishing sun. Business moguls, politicians, and socialites alike sat face to face, awaiting the biggest wedding of the society season.Right in the center of it all sat a giant floral altar at the end of a long, white aisle, complete with white flowers. The scene could have been a wedding advertisement, and was picture-perfect.It was just not for the bride.Bianca stood at the opposite end of the white aisle from the guests and bridegroom who would be arriving in a few moments, her face a
Chapter 9: His Mistress
The crack never sounded. For a moment, she couldn't believe her own ex-husband was taking his mistress's side."You're sticking up for her?" Bianca sputtered; looking up at George with an expression of sheer disbelief. "In front of everyone?" Obviously, the whispers began anew. "He was cheating on her." "I knew he was no good." "I always thought he would." The whispers built into a roaring tide, the air thick with the electricity of the reception. Marcus, his face crimson, stormed forward. "You bastard!" he bellowed at George, then turned and glared at Kyla. "And you, you are if you must know, you're attached to what a disgusting parasite!" Kyla's brow furrowed, The shocked look in her eyes morphed into a look of puzzled amusement as she looked between Marcus and Bianca. "What is wrong with everyone?" Kyla stammered as though they could hear her. Suddenly, as the argument was about to continue, Henry Downs stood before them exuding authority."That's enough of that," he replied
Chapter 10: Mr. Peasant Trillionaire is Back!
Four years later.....The private jet landed, and and George stared outside of his window, while he sipped the cocktail drink in his hands. The flight attendant, walked sharply to him,"Mr. Whitemore, we've landed." She said he remained quiet, his gaze still fixed on the view right out the window. He turned slowly to her and gave a short nod.He had changed in the last four years, his face was more structured, and his torso packed with abs, years for workout. His long hair was shorter now and lay back, but his eyes remained the same, cold, and empty. He got out of the plane, staring at the city which once held this pain, "Welcome back, Mr. Whitmore" Leo's voice said, distracting his thoughts, he had changed in four years as well, he was well built, and a few beards were growing in the right places."Leo..." George reached out, and as he shook his hand, the guards lined up as they opened the GLE jeep for him. "Your grandfather awaits you..." Leo answered. In no time, the car was heade
