The noble calmly stepped down from the driver's seat of the carriage.

His hand rested on the hilt of the curved sword hanging at his waist.

The remaining bandits rushed toward him from all directions.

The first bandit reached him.

The noble moved.

A silver flash appeared.

For a brief moment, nothing happened.

The charging bandit blinked.

Then his head slid cleanly from his neck.

Blood erupted into the air.

His body took two more steps before collapsing onto the dirt road.

The other bandits froze.

Then rage consumed them.

"Kill him!"

"Bastard!"

"Cut him apart!"

The noble slowly raised his sword.

His expression remained calm.

Almost bored.

Then he whispered.

"Tempest Edge."

The surrounding wind suddenly came alive.

Leaves spiraled into the air.

Dust exploded from the ground.

Blue currents of wind wrapped around his blade like living snakes.

The air itself seemed to scream.

The bandits' eyes widened.

The noble swung once.

WHOOSH!

A massive crescent of compressed wind tore across the battlefield.

Trees bent violently.

The ground split apart.

Several bandits were launched into the air before they even understood what happened.

Their bodies spun helplessly.

CRASH!

CRASH!

CRASH!

They smashed into nearby tree trunks with enough force to crack wood.

Bones snapped.

Blood sprayed.

Some died instantly.

Others slid lifelessly to the forest floor.

Silence followed.

Only the sound of rustling leaves remained.

Scott stared from behind his tree.

"Damn."

His eyes widened.

"He is strong."

He is a wind user, the bear replied inside his mind.

The noble's gaze shifted toward the bandit leader.

Without hesitation, he charged.

The distance between them disappeared instantly.

His sword descended.

Then something invisible struck him.

BOOM!

The noble was blasted backward.

His feet dug trenches across the ground before he regained balance.

His expression finally changed.

For the first time, Scott saw caution in his eyes.

The noble immediately shouted.

"Scarlet!"

A glowing summoning circle appeared beneath him.

A gigantic beast emerged.

The ground trembled.

It was a two-headed cobra.

Each head was larger than a horse.

Its crimson scales shimmered like molten metal beneath the sunlight. Long black markings ran across its body like cracks in cooling lava. Both heads possessed glowing golden eyes filled with murderous intent.

The creature towered above the battlefield it's breath carried a poisonous mist.

The bandits instinctively stepped backward.

Even Scott felt his heartbeat quicken.

Then he noticed what had blocked the noble earlier.

Two wolves slowly emerged from thin air.

Their gray fur blended perfectly with the surroundings.

Their eyes glowed silver.

Until now they had been completely invisible.

Stealth Wolves, the bear explained.

Legendary Beasts.

Scott's eyes widened.

"Both of them?"

Yes.

The wolves lunged.

The two-headed cobra hissed and charged.

BOOM!

The collision shook the forest.

Trees shattered.

The ground cracked.

One wolf bit into the cobra's neck while the second tore into its tail.

The cobra retaliated immediately.

Its two heads attacked separately.

One blasted poisonous mist.

The other sank its fangs into a wolf's shoulder.

The battle became a blur of claws, fangs, poison, and blood.

Entire trees were uprooted.

Branches exploded.

The forest looked as if a storm had descended upon it.

Meanwhile, the noble faced the bandit leader.

The leader finally climbed off his donkey.

His lazy attitude vanished.

The giant axe rested comfortably on his shoulder.

The noble attacked first.

The bandit leader dodged.

The axe swung.

BOOM!

The ground exploded where it landed.

Scott nearly choked.

The chubby man moved frighteningly fast.

Far faster than someone his size should.

The noble was quickly pushed onto the defensive.

Sword met axe repeatedly.

Sparks flew.

The leader laughed wildly.

"What's wrong, noble boy?"

"I thought you were going to kill us all!"

The noble remained silent.

But Scott could see him struggling.

Then a terrible cry echoed through the forest.

The noble's face changed.

He looked toward Scarlet.

One of the wolves had ripped into the cobra's side.

The second wolf tore into its neck.

Moments later, both wolves began devouring the beast alive.

The contract bond instantly transmitted the pain back to its summoner.

The noble's concentration broke.

The bandit leader grinned.

"Got you."

He slammed his axe into the ground.

"Earth Bind!"

The soil beneath the noble exploded.

Before he could react, the earth swallowed him.

His body sank rapidly.

Within seconds, only his head and shoulders remained above the ground.

The fight was over.

Just like that.

Scott blinked.

"Wow."

"That didn't last long."

He turned around.

"Let's leave."

This had nothing to do with him.

Unfortunately, fate had other plans.

One bandit opened the carriage door.

His eyes widened.

"Boss!"

The leader looked over.

"What?"

The bandit's grin stretched from ear to ear.

"We got some pretty girls in here."

Several bandits immediately gathered around.

Whistles filled the air.

"Oh wow look what we got here."

"They really are beautiful."

The noble instantly panicked.

"Please!"

The calm man from earlier was gone.

"You can take the carriage."

"You can take everything."

"Just spare my daughters."

The bandit leader smirked.

He slowly walked toward the carriage.

"Too bad."

His grin became uglier.

"My bed hasn't been warm in a long time."

The girls inside the carriage trembled.

"I'll use your daughters for as long as I want."

The noble's eyes widened in horror.

The bandit leader raised his axe.

"And when I get bored..."

His smile darkened.

"I'll send them to join you in hell."

Scott stopped walking.

His expression hardened.

He looked at the carriage.

Then at the terrified girls.

Then at the helpless noble.

A sigh escaped him.

He reached down and picked up a small stone.

Before doing anything, he asked a question.

"Those wolves."

What about them?

"Can you handle them?"

For the first time, the bear sounded amused.

Handle them?

Scott waited.

Those two would piss themselves if they knew I was here.

Scott almost laughed.

"Good enough."

He flicked the stone.

THUNK!

The pebble struck the bandit leader directly on the forehead.

Everyone froze.

The leader slowly turned around.

A vein bulged on his forehead.

"Who dares?"

Scott stepped out from behind the tree.

"Hey, fatty."

The entire road fell silent.

The bandits stared.

The leader stared.

Even the noble stared.

The bandit leader looked Scott up and down.

The skinny boy looked like he hadn't eaten properly in months.

Then the leader burst into laughter.

"Hahaha!"

His men joined him.

"You?"

The leader wiped tears from his eyes.

"Boy, do you have a death wish?"

"And who are you calling fatty?"

Scott folded his arms.

"I wasn't talking to you."

The leader frowned.

Scott pointed at the donkey.

"I was talking to the poor donkey carrying your oversized backside."

Several bandits immediately covered their mouths.

Scott continued.

"Honestly, if you eat one more meal, people might mistake you for your own beast."

The leader's eye twitched.

"And judging by your shape, your real magical ability isn't earth magic."

Scott smirked.

"It's eating."

The bandit leader's face turned red.

"You little bastard!"

Scott shrugged.

"I've seen barrels with better fighting physiques."

The leader gripped his axe so tightly that the handle creaked.

His murderous aura exploded.

"I will butcher your body."

His voice became ice cold.

"And feed your bones to my wolves."

Scott stared back without a hint of fear.

For the first time in a long while...

He actually smiled.

"Aren't you going to acquire his beast?" Chloe looked back at him and smiled faintly. "It's not possible for my kind." Mr. Zen frowned. "What do you mean it's not possible? My two Legendary Wolf Beasts were obtained through Scott." "And every summoner knows that a person can steal another summoner's contract after defeating them." Chloe laughed softly. "Just because your friend can do it doesn't mean all of us can." "All of us?" Raya repeated, her eyes widening. She stepped closer. "So there are more descendants of the Dragon King?"
