Ch 3 - The Monster (Edited)

'Am I the lord of this place?' I thought as I remained silent, thinking about what I should do next. I had doubts about my ability to lead them.

"My Lord?" He frowned as he was waiting for my order.

"As briefed by my Confidere, you are the only general in this territory! Am I right?" I asked.

"Yes, my lord! Reporting the incoming monster of Mars by tomorrow." He spoke with a serious voice as if danger were upon us.

I was shocked upon hearing the information.

"Monster of Mars? Fucking Mars? Am I on the planet Mars? Not in the game world, right?" I stood up and grabbed his body armor, as I wasn't convinced that I was on a different planet.

"My lord! As you wish!!" Then he took off his body armor and kneeled in front of me.

"So not everyone can use the system?" I asked, and I understood immediately from his gesture of taking off his armor that he was different from Bella.

"You are right, my Lord. Do you want me to cut Mino's head off?" As she materialized the blade in her left hand.

"No! I was just very surprised! Mino, you can go and prepare the soldiers!" I said with a firm demand as I tried to pretend to be a great leader.

"As your wish, my Lord!" Then he wore his body armor and left my side.

Several hours had passed, and my body had recovered full of energy after eating so much food in the dining room beside the throne chamber.

I accepted the fact that I was no longer on planet Earth and Bella's ability to use the system with a display in front of her but not visible to my eyes.

"Bella, I'm ready now! Show me around this place!"

"Teehee at your service, my Lord!" She smiled at me and held my arm as I followed her around in Labis territory.

She showed the big wall that prevented the monster from entering the city area.

On the other side of the wall, there was green grass as far as the eye could see.

I saw the massive woods beside the south gate and asked.

"Where did the massive woods lead us?" I asked.

"The massive woods will lead to the south of Mars. There is a river that surrounds Mars in a circle." She replied.

"Where will the monsters come from? Who sent them?" I asked.

"There! From the northwest direction. Our enemies are from Kedah territory. Their Emperor sent the monsters as they wanted the mana stones in our massive woods by the riverside to the south." She pointed her finger towards the enemy at the greenfield over the horizon as I saw the beautiful grassland.

"Mars is a green planet, huh?" I was truly baffled.

"Huh? My Lord?" She frowned with a confused face as she shook me by the shoulders.

"Nothing!" I replied, and I hugged her waist tightly, as I could not hold back my desire to protect a caring woman like her.

"Will I survive this? Mmm. Did you ever know my name?"

"Your name is..." She answered as I focused my eyes on the beautiful surroundings of Labis territory on Mars.

Her voice went through my mind because I was focused on something else.

Death's body was all over the place on the horizon as I saw the monsters moving forward to seek more blood.

They slaughtered my front-line soldiers as they moved inward into my territory.

"My Lord! The stench of human blood!" She said.

"Did you smell that from here?" I asked, and then she nodded as she held my hand and interlocked with my finger.

"Anything happens! Win or lose! I want to stay by your side! This is my solemn pledge to you!" Suddenly, she kneeled, and I got goosebumps upon hearing it.

"Bella, to tell the truth, I don't know how to command an army!" I said this as I waited for her answer to my weakness.

"..." She remained silent, as it seemed she was waiting for me to accept her solemn pledge of loyalty to me.

"Your pledge, I accept!" I said.

"Thank you, my lord!" Then she stood up and looked in the direction of the monsters over the horizon of the green field.

I inhaled a lot of air, as this was maybe my last moment before I died. "To be here with you is the only thing I can do! To be honest, I'm weak! I'm not a leader. I think you got the wrong person!" I declared to her.

"My Lord. You can become stronger later. Because you did in the past. You were the ultimate monarch on Mars," said Bella.

Then I observed from the top platform on the defensive wall. The situation was so bad that so many soldiers lost their lives.

"What kind of monster is over there?" I looked at Bella's face, looking for an answer.

"It's a goblin monster, my Lord!" She replied as her eyes focused on the monster's direction.

"Mino! Are our soldiers ready?" I asked because our fourth line was already breached.

"Yes, we are ready, my Lord!" He proclaimed as I took a closer look at him. He had very masculine features, with short brown hair and black eyes that complemented his rectangular face's shape.

"What about the citizens of Labis?" I asked.

"I already sent them off to Sawah territory as requested by Lady Bella yesterday!"

With the sword in his right hand, he hurried to his soldiers to fight with them.

After only a few minutes had passed, the monsters took down another line of soldiers, and I lost count of how many were killed to defend the Labis territory.

'We are losing!' I thought as I saw everything break down in an instant.

The soldiers in the back line in front of the wall were stomped and ravaged.

A minor number of them retreated to enter the defensive wall.

"My lord! We are losing... Please leave this territory!" One of my soldiers shouted that I needed to leave this territory of mine.

"My Lord! Let's leave this place and stay by my side!" Bella said, as I saw the monsters coming closer to our location, they stomped on everything in their path.

"I won't leave!" I said because leaving would hurt my pride as they looked at me with admiration.

'Should I give this up?' I thought that as the monsters got closer to me, I could notice their facial features. 'Is today the day I die?'

The monster is about 5 meters tall and has a very weird face.

The facial features of the monster were like those of an eagle, with a mane on its neck and throughout its body.
