Nolan was about to speak to the woman whose name tag read Jane when the man who had pushed him aside cut in with a mocking tone.

“You have a lot of nerve for someone your age,” the man scoffed. “Your boldness is something else. I deposit more than a million dollars every year in this bank, and I don’t act the way you do. You’re making noise over a few hundred? What a joke.”

The customers around them burst into laughter. Some pointed at Nolan, others whispered to each other, clearly amused.

Jane snorted and crossed her arms, looking at Nolan with disgust.

“This bank doesn’t care if you take all your money away,” she said sharply. “So go ahead and do it. Do as you wish and stop being a nuisance.

She clearly didn’t take him seriously.

Nolan stayed calm. He didn’t see the point in arguing anymore. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his bank card.

“Withdraw all the money in my account,” he said coldly. “Don’t leave even a penny behind.”

“You’re still being stupid and difficult, aren’t you?” Jane snapped. “You think you can cause problems this early in the morning? For cases like yours, I report directly to the bank manager. And let me tell you something, you don’t want to get on his bad side. He’ll deal with you.”

She quickly pulled out her phone, dialed a number, and pressed it to her ear.

Jane spoke for a few minutes, explaining the situation with a proud smile on her face. But just seconds after she ended the call, a stern-looking man walked into the banking hall, heading straight for them. His face was cold as his eyes locked on Nolan.

It was the bank manager.

He looked at Nolan with irritation at first but then he stopped in his tracks. His eyes widened in disbelief as they landed on the black card in Nolan’s hand.

He was stunned.

The card Nolan held was the bank’s VIP Black Card. One of the rarest cards in the world. Since the day the manager started working at the bank, he had never seen one in person. Only stories and pictures. He knew exactly what it meant.

Only billionaires or top-tier clients owned that card.

And if this man, this young man had one, then he wasn’t just important.

He was powerful.

Panic shot through the manager. He couldn’t let Nolan withdraw all his money. He had to act fast.

“I’m really sorry, sir!” the manager suddenly shouted, bowing his head low. “Our staff didn’t know who they were speaking to. Please forgive us! I apologize for everything she might have said sir.”

“Manager… what are you doing?” Jane asked in confusion. “Why are you bowing to this nuisance? He’s just a poor—”

“Shut your mouth!” the manager barked, turning sharply to her. “Do you even understand the damage you’ve done? How could you be this careless!? You’ve been working here for years. How could you not recognize a Black Card when you see one!?”

Jane froze, stunned by the outburst.

Black Card? she thought, eyes narrowing in disbelief. From this… nobody?

Her gaze shifted slowly to the card Nolan was holding, trying to get a closer look.

There it was. The Black Card.

And suddenly, she realized that she had made a huge mistake.

“A Black Card!? How didn’t I notice it earlier?” She thought in panic. “Why is he even dressed shabbily in the first place?”

He didn’t look like a billionaire. Not even close. But he was and she had just insulted him. She was in serious trouble.

“Apologize. Immediately!” the manager barked at her again, snapping her out of her thoughts.

“I-I’m really sorry… I didn’t… this is…” Jane stuttered, her hands trembling. Sweat covered her forehead.

“Is that how to apologize?” the manager yelled again. “Do you think I’m joking here? You know what? You’re fired. Immediately!”

“No! Please, don’t fire me. I’m sorry!” Jane cried, dropping to her knees. “Please don’t do this. I was foolish not to recognize such an important customer. I beg you, sir!”

The manager ignored her completely.

She turned to Nolan. He was her only chance now. If he forgave her, maybe, just maybe she could keep her job.

She crawled closer, her voice shaky. “I was wrong, sir. And I accept that. Please, forgive me. Don’t let me lose my job. I need this work to survive…”

Everyone in the bank watched in shock. Some gasped, others stared at Nolan in awe.

No one had ever seen someone with a Black Card in real life.

So this is what it feels like to be rich and respected, Nolan thought, glancing around the room.

He liked the feeling. He hadn’t expected Jane to break down like this, begging him for mercy.

He didn’t want to forgive her. But… he had been in a good mood before walking into the bank. He decided to let it slide, just a little.

“You don’t have to fire her,” Nolan said calmly, clearing his throat. “But cut her salary for this month and the next. Let that be her punishment.”

“Thank you, sir. Thank you…” Jane whispered through her tears. She wasn’t happy, but a pay cut was better than being jobless.

Nolan didn’t respond. He simply turned to the manager.

“I don’t want her attending to me again. In fact, I don’t want anyone else attending to me, only you.”

“That won’t be a problem at all, sir,” the manager said quickly. “Please, follow me to the VIP lounge. You can rest there while I handle everything personally.”

Nolan nodded.

He followed the manager into a large, air-conditioned room with soft chairs and a luxurious feel. The scent of expensive polish and paint filled the space, and soft music played in the background. The manager poured him a glass of expensive wine.

“About what you said earlier, sir…” the manager began carefully. “Would you please reconsider withdrawing all your funds from our bank? Losing a customer like you would be a huge loss. Just give us one more chance to prove our value.”

Nolan took a slow sip of the wine and looked up.

“Very well then. Since you handled things properly, I’ll give this bank another chance,” he said. “But I’ll still be withdrawing half a million dollars. The rest can stay.”

The manager exhaled sharply, relief washing over his face. “Thank you so much, sir. Thank you!”

A few minutes later, Nolan stepped out of the bank with $500,000 in a bag and headed straight to Savannah’s house.

Are you okay in tne head…”Before Gabriel could say more or do anything, a voice from behind stopped him.“Are my eyes messing with me or isn’t that Gabriel?” the voice said in a playful tone. “Are you really about to fight a worker in a car shop?”The voice was laughing, and it made everyone stop what they were doing and they all turned to look at who was speaking. It was Damien. Damien was Jett’s best friend and he was standing at the entrance of the car shop, smiling and right behind him was Jett, standing with his usual proud face and wearing clothes that looked very expensive.Damien was actually richer than Jett. He had more money, more power, and came from a more important family but Damien didn’t act proud like Jett, although he was rude and also treated poor people lik

“Who were you talking to just now?” Cole asked the moment Nolan ended the phone call and walked back to where they were standing.Nolan rolled his eyes. Cole was always asking questions about everything he did. He always wanted to know who Nolan was talking to, where he was going, what he was thinking. It was almost like Cole had made it his full-time job to poke into every single thing.“That was from work,” Nolan said quickly, not wanting to say too much. He just wanted to move on before Cole asked more questions.“Let’s go inside to check the cars already,” Gabriel said as he wiped sweat off his forehead. “You’ve made us stand out here under the sun for too long. I’m tired already.”They all walked into the showroom together. As soon as Nolan stepped inside, he stopped and looked around. His eyes went wide in surprise. There were so many cars inside. New cars, fairly used cars, and even some old models. All of them looked neat and shiny like they had just been polished. The white f

“I think my budget should be about five thousand to six thousand dollars,” Nolan said slowly as he looked around the car shop. “I’m not sure if it’s too much or if it’s just enough… but let’s work with that range for now.”The words had barely left his mouth when Cole’s eyes widened in complete shock.“Six… SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS?!” Cole shouted, almost jumping. “Nolan! Are you serious right now?”He grabbed Nolan by his shoulders and shook him a little, as if trying to wake him up from a dream.“Did you really just say six thousand dollars?” Cole repeated, louder this time.Fiona and Gabriel who were walking around the car shop quickly turned around to look at them. They had heard Cole’s loud voice and wanted to know what was going on.“Yes, six thousand dollars,” Nolan repeated, now feeling a little nervous because everyone in the shop was now staring at him.“Six thousand?” Cole said again, his voice still loud. “As in, one, two, three, four, five… SIX?!”He covered his mouth with h

“How about you take this taxi with Fiona?” Nolan said as he stepped away from the car door and looked at Cole.Cole’s eyes lit up and he didn’t hesitate to move forward. He wanted to be the one to sit down with Fiona initially. “Really?” he asked, already moving closer to the car. “Okay! No problem!” He was so happy that he didn’t even wait for Nolan to say anything else. He just went in and sat beside Fiona, grinning from ear to ear but Fiona didn’t smile. In fact, she was very angry and if a glare could kill someone, Nolan would have been dead. Her face changed so suddenly because this wasn't what she wanted. She didn’t want to sit beside Cole and she didn’t come all the way just to sit in a taxi with Cole or just to be with Cole. Her plan was to be alone with Nolan and she wanted to sit close to him, talk to him, maybe even flirt a little, just like last time butnow, Cole had ruined everything. She was so mad and she didn’t want to be in the car with Cole at all. Nolan started thinking about Fiona again and he remembered the last time he spoke to her, and how it didn’t end well. She had said some things that really annoyed him and she had acted in a way that made him sure she wasn’t someone he wanted to be close to. In fact, after that last encounter, he had promised himself that he wouldn’t even speak to her again but now, she was coming with them to check out his car.He didn’t even want to see her face again, but Cole had already told her to come along. It was too late now to stop her because Cole had already made the plans without asking anyone else.Nolan sighed and looked around. He spotted Gabriel packing his books as he was getting ready to leave the classroom too and he quickly walked up to him.“I was waiting for you to say something about Fiona coming with us,” Nolan said, walking beside him.Gabriel scoffed and rolled his eyes. “What’s the point?” he asked, clearly annoyed. “Cole doesn’t listen and no matter how many times we

  • Chapter 84

Nolan thought Cole was going to ask him some questions. He expected him to say something like, “How did you get money to buy a car?” or “Where did the money come from?” He thought Cole would be curious about how he suddenly had enough money to think of buying a car but Cole didn’t ask any of that.He was just too happy and too excited and he didn’t even stop to think about anything. He didn’t ask where the money came from and it was as if he was the one buying the car, not Nolan. Nolan was still waiting for the questions but he didn’t ask them. Instead, Cole went to Gabriel and started telling him all the types of cars Nolan could buy. “It must be big and sleek,” Cole said, raising his hands to show the size. “It must be finer than Jett’s car, and it must make noise when it moves. You know all those sounds those sports cars make? Something like that."Gabriel shook his head and said, “No, you’re wrong. What matters the most in a car is how it performs and instead of how fine it l
