A bright yellow sports car pulled up in front of Savannah’s house. She and her best friend, Dora, got out. Jett, the driver, followed behind them and jogged over to Savannah, pulling her into a hug.

Savannah was dressed in a skimpy dress with heavy makeup, and Dora looked the same. They met Jett at the club the night before after Savannah had texted him. He had been interested in Savannah for a long time, and when she finally reached out to him, he was thrilled.

He took her to a bar with his friends, and she invited Dora along. After some time at the bar, they all went to the club.

Jett kissed Savannah on the lips, holding her tight and she wrapped her arms around him, kissing him back. Dora giggled as she watched.

After a moment, Dora cleared her throat. “I’m still here, guys, in case you forgot,” she said with a smirk.

Jett pulled away, looking at Savannah. “I’ll let you go before I drag you back into my car,” he said. “I’ll see you again, right?”

Savannah smiled, tapping his chest. “Of course, we’ll meet again.”

Jett winked and got into his car, driving off.

Once he was gone, Dora grabbed Savannah’s arm. “What’s going on with you and Jett?” she asked, her voice full of curiosity. “It’s only been one night, and now he’s already asking when you’ll meet again. What did you do!? He’s suddenly wrapped around your finger.”

Savannah rolled her eyes. “Oh, please. We’re just friends. Nothing more.”

“Friends?” Dora laughed. “Just friends, and he was kissing you like that? I even had to stop you two before you started tearing each other’s clothes off. Friends my foot!”

Savannah sighed. “Enough, Dora. You’re overthinking it.”

“Oh, so now I’m overthinking? You think I didn’t notice when the both of you left the club quietly? You disappeared for three hours! I was worried, but now, after seeing that kiss earlier, I’m more curious than concerned. Where did you go, Savannah? What did you two do? I need answers!”

Savannah said nothing. She just smiled.

“Huh? Is that a smile?” Dora gasped. “Oh my God, Savannah! I hope it’s not what I’m thinking. Did you sleep with Jett last night?” she screamed.

Savannah blushed and quickly covered her ears. “Would you stop screaming? If you keep saying nonsense, I’m going inside,” she snapped, walking to the front door.

Dora was right, to an extent. She and Jett had almost slept together. They made out and had a wild, steamy night. It helped her forget the argument with Nolan. She needed a distraction, and Jett had provided it.

Savannah opened the door and froze.

“Why aren’t you going in? What’s wrong?” Dora asked, puzzled by her friend’s sudden stop.

“Nolan is here,” Savannah replied coldly.

Dora’s eyes widened. Without a second thought, she pushed Savannah aside and stormed into the house, her eyes locking on Nolan.

“What’s going on, Savannah?” Dora asked angrily. “Didn’t you break up with him? What is he doing here again?”

She turned to Nolan and gave him a disgusted look, her eyes trailing up and down as if he were dirt under her shoes. She had never liked him and always told Savannah she deserved better.

“Hi, Savannah,” Nolan said with a soft smile, ignoring Dora completely.

“Why are you here?” Savannah asked, her tone flat.

“I came to talk to your mom about our wedding again. Things didn’t end well last time, and I want to fix that,” Nolan replied, scratching the back of his head.

“Fix what? What a joke!” Dora exploded. “Don’t you have any pride at all? Don’t you get it? Can’t you take a hint? See you crawling back like some desperate stray. Savannah’s done with you! She’s not interested in you anymore and she has moved on! Why are you still here, trying to force something that’s already dead? Why so desperate!? You’re so pathetic annoying and disgusting!”

“This is between me and Savannah,” Nolan said, his voice rising. “I don’t see why you think you have a say in this, mind your business.”

“I’m not just anyone,” Dora shot back. “I’m her best friend. It’s my job to protect her from losers like you. I won’t stand by while my friend throws her life away on someone who can’t even stand on his own feet.”

“You have no future, no ambition, and no class. You’ve always been a failure and I won’t let my friend settle for one. Just give it a rest and crawl back to whatever gutter you came from.”

Nolan clenched his fists, his jaw tightening. He had known for a long time Dora didn’t like him, but this was too much.

“Dora’s right,” Savannah added, her voice emotionless.

“I’ve tolerated you for so long, and I’m done. I need someone who values me.”

Nolan tried to speak, but she cut him off.

“I don’t want to hear anything else. And if you didn’t hear me clearly before, let me say it again. I’ve never loved you, Nolan. I only kept you around because I was bored. I needed someone to pass time with, but now I’m done. So stop trying and also, stop embarrassing yourself. This thing between us was never real to me. It was just a game and you were the fool who thought it meant something.”

Nolan burst into laughter, shaking his head in disbelief.

“That can’t be true. We were in love, Savannah. Where is all this coming from? Don’t you remember? The late-night calls, the promises we made? We talked about our future, our marriage, building a life together, growing old side by side. I was ready to give you everything I had. I gave you my heart.”

“How can you stand there and act like none of it meant anything? Like I meant nothing? Was it all a lie? Was I just a fool in love while you were pretending the whole time? I refuse to believe that.”

Then realization hit him. “You’re still angry, aren’t you? Angry because I didn’t sell my aunt’s land to pay for the wedding? I get it now. But I’ve fixed it.”

He grabbed the bag beside him, unzipped it, and pulled out wads of cash, placing them on the table.

“There’s enough here for everything. The entire list. The wedding. Everything.”

He looked into her eyes, his voice softer. “Don’t you want to reconsider what you just said?”

Are you okay in tne head…”Before Gabriel could say more or do anything, a voice from behind stopped him.“Are my eyes messing with me or isn’t that Gabriel?” the voice said in a playful tone. “Are you really about to fight a worker in a car shop?”The voice was laughing, and it made everyone stop what they were doing and they all turned to look at who was speaking. It was Damien. Damien was Jett’s best friend and he was standing at the entrance of the car shop, smiling and right behind him was Jett, standing with his usual proud face and wearing clothes that looked very expensive.Damien was actually richer than Jett. He had more money, more power, and came from a more important family but Damien didn’t act proud like Jett, although he was rude and also treated poor people lik

“Who were you talking to just now?” Cole asked the moment Nolan ended the phone call and walked back to where they were standing.Nolan rolled his eyes. Cole was always asking questions about everything he did. He always wanted to know who Nolan was talking to, where he was going, what he was thinking. It was almost like Cole had made it his full-time job to poke into every single thing.“That was from work,” Nolan said quickly, not wanting to say too much. He just wanted to move on before Cole asked more questions.“Let’s go inside to check the cars already,” Gabriel said as he wiped sweat off his forehead. “You’ve made us stand out here under the sun for too long. I’m tired already.”They all walked into the showroom together. As soon as Nolan stepped inside, he stopped and looked around. His eyes went wide in surprise. There were so many cars inside. New cars, fairly used cars, and even some old models. All of them looked neat and shiny like they had just been polished. The white f

“I think my budget should be about five thousand to six thousand dollars,” Nolan said slowly as he looked around the car shop. “I’m not sure if it’s too much or if it’s just enough… but let’s work with that range for now.”The words had barely left his mouth when Cole’s eyes widened in complete shock.“Six… SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS?!” Cole shouted, almost jumping. “Nolan! Are you serious right now?”He grabbed Nolan by his shoulders and shook him a little, as if trying to wake him up from a dream.“Did you really just say six thousand dollars?” Cole repeated, louder this time.Fiona and Gabriel who were walking around the car shop quickly turned around to look at them. They had heard Cole’s loud voice and wanted to know what was going on.“Yes, six thousand dollars,” Nolan repeated, now feeling a little nervous because everyone in the shop was now staring at him.“Six thousand?” Cole said again, his voice still loud. “As in, one, two, three, four, five… SIX?!”He covered his mouth with h

“How about you take this taxi with Fiona?” Nolan said as he stepped away from the car door and looked at Cole.Cole’s eyes lit up and he didn’t hesitate to move forward. He wanted to be the one to sit down with Fiona initially. “Really?” he asked, already moving closer to the car. “Okay! No problem!” He was so happy that he didn’t even wait for Nolan to say anything else. He just went in and sat beside Fiona, grinning from ear to ear but Fiona didn’t smile. In fact, she was very angry and if a glare could kill someone, Nolan would have been dead. Her face changed so suddenly because this wasn't what she wanted. She didn’t want to sit beside Cole and she didn’t come all the way just to sit in a taxi with Cole or just to be with Cole. Her plan was to be alone with Nolan and she wanted to sit close to him, talk to him, maybe even flirt a little, just like last time butnow, Cole had ruined everything. She was so mad and she didn’t want to be in the car with Cole at all. • Chapter 85

Nolan started thinking about Fiona again and he remembered the last time he spoke to her, and how it didn’t end well. She had said some things that really annoyed him and she had acted in a way that made him sure she wasn’t someone he wanted to be close to. In fact, after that last encounter, he had promised himself that he wouldn’t even speak to her again but now, she was coming with them to check out his car.He didn’t even want to see her face again, but Cole had already told her to come along. It was too late now to stop her because Cole had already made the plans without asking anyone else.Nolan sighed and looked around. He spotted Gabriel packing his books as he was getting ready to leave the classroom too and he quickly walked up to him.“I was waiting for you to say something about Fiona coming with us,” Nolan said, walking beside him.Gabriel scoffed and rolled his eyes. “What’s the point?” he asked, clearly annoyed. “Cole doesn’t listen and no matter how many times we

  • Chapter 84

Nolan thought Cole was going to ask him some questions. He expected him to say something like, “How did you get money to buy a car?” or “Where did the money come from?” He thought Cole would be curious about how he suddenly had enough money to think of buying a car but Cole didn’t ask any of that.He was just too happy and too excited and he didn’t even stop to think about anything. He didn’t ask where the money came from and it was as if he was the one buying the car, not Nolan. Nolan was still waiting for the questions but he didn’t ask them. Instead, Cole went to Gabriel and started telling him all the types of cars Nolan could buy. “It must be big and sleek,” Cole said, raising his hands to show the size. “It must be finer than Jett’s car, and it must make noise when it moves. You know all those sounds those sports cars make? Something like that."Gabriel shook his head and said, “No, you’re wrong. What matters the most in a car is how it performs and instead of how fine it l
