The old laundry store far from Kael's apartment had the same problems, almost every day. Faulty washing machines, long lines, and unfortunately, nowhere to sit inside while waiting. So Kael opted waiting outside. Rather than join the chaos inside, he let the others fight it out. He'd learned it wasn't worth the stress. After seven hours of soul-crushing waiting, he finally got in, when everyone had gotten their items cleaned. "I could've slept through all that," Kael muttered, dumping his clothes into one washers. The fading sounds of the city, still buzzing at night, washed over him like soft white noise. He climbed onto the washer and pulled out his phone to scroll. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a boy—maybe nine years old—standing beside him. Kael glanced at the kid, then back at his screen. Wait a second. He turned sharply. "You?!" The boy unwrapped a lollipop, cool as ever. "Hey—" "What? When did you—? Why are you here?!" The boy tilted his head, eyes locked on Kael. Crimson red eyes with slit pupils gleaming softly. Kael froze. "Your eyes?," he pointed. "I've never seen anyone with—" "Yours is one of a kind," the boy said, pulling the candy from his mouth. He pointed it at Kael's face. "Golden. Like the sun." 'Eyes golden as the sun? Was that even something to be proud of?' Kael lowered his head. From the earliest memory he could recall, his mother would always say, 'No one in our family line has eyes like this. So, I don't think it's inherited. Maybe a recessive gene? Or a dominant one? From a long-lost ancestor... or your father's side.' And, it only got bittersweet when school started. His eyes became a source of admiration... and envy. But in all, he was always seen as the odd one. "What are you thinking?" the boy asked, slipping the lollipop back into his mouth. "You speak like it's a gift," Kael muttered. "But to me, it's always felt like a curse. Or maybe..." he paused, staring at the boy, "... For all records, Who even are you?" "Well," the boy said, grinning, "I'm you." Kael squinted. "What—" "Okay, not you... but... like you... Do you know anything about yourself?," The boy leaned in slightly. Kael shifted back, "Myself?" "Yes! Want me to help you remember?" the boy asked, voice clear with amusement. "Wanna know the truth about those golden eyes?" Kael jumped down from the washer, his patience wearing thin. "Well, I don't want to play a game with you. I have to dry, fold my clothes—" The boy's smile vanished, replaced by a stern expression. "You were more serious a century ago. Now, you're reluctant. I won't allow you to remain so vile of yourself." Kael blinked, confused. "What are you—" "One way or another, you must transform, Remember and Understand," The boy snapped his finger, and a small flame ignited. "So, you're a magician now?" Kael asked, his tone skeptical. "Okay, what element are you? Fire? Or is it an ancient language you use to ignite a burning flame?" The boy's expression became confused, "Have you heard of the Dragon language?" Kael nodded. "Yes." The boy's confusion deepened. "You remember? You remember everything—?" Kael smiled. "I also know about the Lizard language. So, don't worry, you can say anything—" The boy whispered something under his breath, "Civynya" "What did you just say?" Kael asked. "I summoned a corruption to where we stand," the boy replied, his sly smile returning. "You would have to defeat it, or else, you will die... Don't worry, you might be reborn again, your soul can't die, can it?.." As the boy walked out the door, Kael reached out to him. "Hey," but his attention was diverted by a loud crash. The window shattered, and the roof caved in. Kael slowly raised his head, his eyes widening in horror as he took in the creature standing before him. A monster of horror, a nightmare his mind would have a hard time construction. **** A step back, followed by another. Kael trembled in the face of a creature, similar to a giant bee, but with a head that twisted and shifted into countless forms, never settling on one shape. His legs gave way. He fell to the ground—well, safe to say, the fall saved him from a strike that would've claimed half his life. Scrambling to the door, he gripped the knob, pulled... However, it didn't budge. Locked. "No, no, no, no, no!," He slammed his fists against the wood, heart pounding in panic, as the creature slipped in behind him. He slowly turned. The Corruption was already in front of him. "Seriously?," he muttered, taking cautious steps away from the door. It didn't help. Another barrage of deadly strikes came flying at him. He dove behind a washing machine, the impact rattling the metal casing. The Corruption turned, smashing through the washing machines, forcing Kael to crawl along the narrow row of six machines, which were all knocked off balance now. And there he sat at the corner of the wall, trembling, helpless, Staring death in the face. "I don't want to die!," he yelled, feeling thatt same cold sensation spread across his chest, he same one he felt before the accident had occurred. 'I'm afraid. I don't want to die. I don't know what that boy meant... I don't know what to transform or unlock... I don't want to die!' A tear rolled down his cheek. 'I don't want to die—!' He shut his eyes. But instead of pain…. Warmth spread through his chest, slowly replacing the cold. He opened his eyes. His golden irises flared with a strange glow, and for a moment, the creature froze. Then, a second passed, before lunging again. The glow in Kael's eyes faded, replaced by fear. And just when the beast struck... A deep voice cut through the air. "100 Blessings of Death" Dozens of ethereal blades rained down from above, each one glowing brighter than the last as they sliced through the creature. With a final shriek, the Corruption burst into ash. Kael slowly looked up. Standing on the broken roof edge, hand extended, was the golden-silver-haired man he had seen earlier. The man spoke up, his voice was calm, but at the same time, commanding, "Get up Kael Von, We're going to Eclipsera, NOW!."Latest Chapter
The truth
Ash quickly dematerialized, just enough time, before he almost got spotted by the academy's search team.More than five men, armed to the teeth, with radar scanner which seemed to be like long iron rods, searched the entire premises, just after getting dropped from the Academy's helicopter. One of the men, tapped his earpiece, sending a message to the Control room, where the elders were gathered. But, not just the elders; Principal Cedric was there as well."... There is no sign of anything here, although the radars are picking up intense energy released from the premises," The man said, moving around, trying to place what wasn't supposed to be there."... I see," Principal Cedric said, tapping his chin, before adjusting his glasses, then said to the elders, "... What we picked up, a minute ago was a magnitude of powers unlike any corruption we have ever seen."He turned to face the Headmaster, a man with a serious expression which seemed to mask his deadpanned looking eyes.Dressed i
Transformations and Problems
A massive pillar of golden fire shot straight up from the center of the plateau, punching a jagged hole through the clouds. Kael’s body didn't just "transform"—it exploded outward. His hoodie, his jeans, his boots—they all just turned to ash, unable to handle the sudden, violent heat. His skin hardened into heavy, shimmering gold plates. His spine lengthened, snapping and popping like a falling tree, as two massive, tattered wings unfurled and caught the moonlight. He wasn't a teenager anymore. He was a Golden Dragon, ancient and terrifying. When he opened his eyes, they weren't human—they were two burning suns that turned the midnight sky into high noon.Ash didn't run....... He didn't even try to stand his ground. The sheer weight of Kael’s presence—that "aura" Dravil had warned him about—was like a physical hand shoving him into the dirt. Ash’s knees hit the gravel with a hard thud. He bent his head low, his forehead almost touching the dusty ground, his small body shaking uncontr
The Ancient Dragon
Kael slowly stood up, his eyes facing the moonlight, his sight not exceeding their gaze, he kept quiet... Too quiet. Then, he looked at Ash again.Ash slowly kept quiet, before asking, almost abruptly, "... What did you see? What exactly did you see in your vision?" He asked, but deep down.... in his heart, he truly was worried about everything. He had always known the Ancient Dragon for as long as time could tell, but to see this same person trapped in a body and thoughts of uncertainty.This... felt sad. "... I saw when I... I was the Ancient Dragon, this time I saw myself as a whole Dragon, in the flesh," Kael raised his hand towards the moonlight, "... I could see the scales, I could feel the energy, I could feel... everything, I didn't understand what I wanted, but I knew one thing and that's that I wanted Peace. No matter what was going on, I wanted Peace, I wanted to end the fight, I wanted the whole world to be balanced, this was my entire goal, this... Everything... I.... t
The great darkness
Kael sat in the heavy silence of Mount Shara, the black sword resting across his knees. The metal felt cold, but it pulsed against his palms like a living heart. As he stared into the silver glow of the moon, his vision started to blur. The wind stopped howling, and the mountain beneath him seemed to dissolve into nothingness.Suddenly...A FLASH OF MEMORY:He wasn't sitting on a plateau anymore. He was suspended in a sky that looked like it was bleeding. Everything was a deep, bruised purple and suffocating black. Below him, the world wasn't made of trees or cities; it was a wasteland of ash. He looked down at his hands, but they weren't the hands of a teenager in a hoodie. They were huge, covered in scales that shimmered like polished onyx, and his fingers ended in claws that could rend steel. In front of him stood a darkness so thick it felt like a wall. It wasn't just a monster; it was a void, a swirling mass of shadows that swallowed the very light around it. It had a thousand e
Fear of the known
"... ASH?!," Kael’s heart was hammering against his ribs so hard it actually hurt. He stared at Ash, who was just standing there on that jagged rock like he owned the mountain. The shock made Kael’s legs feel like jelly, and he sank onto a flat stone, his breath coming in ragged, white clouds."How long?" Kael managed to ask, his voice cracking. "How long were you behind me?"Ash hopped down from the rock, his boots making a sharp crunching sound on the gravel. "Since the dorms, Kael. You’re not exactly a ninja. You smell like dragon-fire and panic. It wasn't hard to keep up." Ash said with an air of sarcasm as he walked closer, his small face looking way too serious for a kid. "Now, talk, please. What are you doing all the way out here? This isn't exactly a spot for a midnight stroll... Definitely not with a hoodie.."Kael didn't answer. He just stared at his muddy boots, his head buried in his hands. The silence stretched out, filled only by the whistling wind."Kael, please , Look
Mount Shara
The secret train from Eclipsera pulled into the city terminal with a hiss that sounded way too loud in the midnight quiet. Kael stepped onto the platform, feeling the sudden weight of the city air. It wasn't like the academy; it was thick with the smell of old exhaust, burnt street food from a street corner he couldn't see, and the general dampness of concrete. He didn't look at the few people sleeping on the benches. He just pulled his hoodie strings until the fabric shadowed his eyes and started walking. He didn't see the small figure tucked into the shadow of a pillar, eyes glowing faintly as they tracked his every move. Ash stayed silent, a ghost in the dark. But, even with the silence, he whispered, "... What is he going to do?"Kael’s feet seemed to know the way better than his head did. He turned down a street where the streetlights were flickering, buzzing like angry insects. He remembered instantly, almost instantly, the corruption bee which attacked him, and how Principal C
