A POIGNANT MEMORY

The next day dawned with a gentle warmth. When she woke up, the soft rays of the morning sun had had filtered through the curtains and Cage was sitting on the edge of the bed, doing something with his phone.

She stirred before turning to the other side to stare at the white wall. Cage walked up and kissed her good morning, but she didn't say anything. Gently getting out of the bed, she sighed and told him what she had to. She sounded so nonchalant about it.

"I need to go see my grandfather today, this morning." She informed him, before smoothly running her hand across her slightly bloated tummy when she felt the baby gently kick. Cage felt a sharp feeling across his heart when she said that.

He was convinced that she was never going to recover from this no matter what. She was never going to hate the man. He sighed and put his phone in his pocket as his brow furrowed in concern. He wondered if she was doing all this just to get him angry or if she really wanted to go see him.
