CHAPTER FOUR

“Ten of ten thousand dollars? You must be kidding. Aren’t you?” The cashier stared at Alex.

Alex brought out his card from his pocket and dropped it in front of the cashier.

“Here, withdraw the hundred million.” Alex said this with a stern look on his face.

The cashier picked up the card. He entered it in his ATM machine.

“Would you like to pay with your pin? Or…

“I’ll pay with my fingerprint." Alex walked closer to the ATM machine. He placed his thumb on the machine.

{Payment Processing}

Alex stared at the ATM machine. It took quite a minute, and the payment was yet to be processed. Alex felt a little uneasy. It was his first time trying out the system, and he has already boasted to the cashier. He didn’t want to be humiliated.

“What if this was fake? Was I hallucinating when I saw the balance in my account? I hope not,” Alex thought.

The cashier gave Alex a mocking sneer. The look on the cashier’s face shows that he can’t wait to mock Alex when the payment fails.

“This is taking quite a long time to process. It actually means you don’t have such money in your account, Mr. Alex. I can’t wait for it to display ‘failed." I would laugh my ass out.” The cashier laughed.

{Payment processed}

The cashier’s laugh paused. He bent over to stare at the screen to confirm that the payment was truly processed.

Alex’s face beamed with a smile. The wealth system just saved him from humiliation.

“My ATM card, please.” Alex said to the cashier

“Y-Yes, Boss.” The cashier stuttered. He pulled out the card and handed it to Alex.

“Boss?” Alex chuckled.

“Yeah, you’re my boss." I’m really sorry for what I did earlier. I didn’t mean to do such.” The cashier went down on his knees.

“Stand up; that isn’t needed. You can give at least half of the money to the hospital and the other half to yourself.” Alex instructed.

The cashier lifted his head.

“You mean, I should take fifty million dollars? That’s too much.” The cashier said this, his lips trembling.

Alex bent a little; his eyes met the cashier’s.

“You think I meant that? Do you think you deserve it?” Alex smirked.

The cashier bent his head in shame. He just got the humiliation he thought would befall Alex.

Alex raised his head.

“Well, how do you feel right now? You treat other people like trash cans because that makes you feel great. Right? You can take the money. Spend it any way you want, but don’t squander it. Money is actually hard to find. Okay?” Alex chuckled as he rubbed his hand on the cashier’s head.

Alex smiled as he walked out of the hospital. He heaved a sigh of relief as he stared at his account balance.

“This is the right time to do everything I’ve ever wished for and also take back what is mine.” Alex muttered.

His memory flashed back to his fifth birthday. It was a day he will never forget in his life. The day he lost his dad, his surrogate mother was arrested for fraud and drug trafficking. His father’s company was closed.

Isabella’s father, Mr. Patrick, walked to Alex on a rainy night. Alex was all alone on the street, crying; he had lost everything he had that day. Mr. Patrick wore a black rain suit, black shoes, and a matching black hat. He also had a black umbrella with him.

Mr. Patrick covered Alex with the umbrella.

“I’m your father’s best friend. I would take care of you, but you will give me something in return.” Mr. Patrick smiled at Little Alex, revealing his tobacco teeth.

Alex was a bit afraid.

“What would I give you in return?” Alex asked.

“Don’t worry, I will take care of you. That would be later.” Mr. Patrick assured him.

Mr. Patrick took Alex to his home, where his family turned him into a slave. Alex received the most unbearable treatment a human being could ever receive.

Alex raised his shirt. There were scars all over his body. The scars were from the beating and, most especially, the hot iron Isabella’s mother, Mrs. Madison, used on him.

“I guess that’s all in the past now. It’s time to get my precious revenge and, most especially, take back everything that belongs to me.” Alex chuckled.

Mr. Patrick didn’t stop at turning him into a slave. He also took possession of Alex’s father's company and denied him the title of heir to the wealth. He transferred all the shares to his own company.

“So, what should I do next? There will be a marriage anniversary for Mrs. Madison tonight. I need to shock them with my appearance. I know they wished for my death, but now they would fall on their knees to beg for forgiveness.” Alex smiled.

He took a taxi to the most luxurious boutique in town. The boutique is well known because most popular celebrities and influencers shop there, especially Isabella and her mother.

Alex walked into the huge building. There were clothes of various kinds in there, including those for men and women.

“I would love to have two pairs of black tuxedos and a matching shoe.” Alex said to the salesgirl:

“Okay, then. Follow me.” The sales girl said

Alex walked behind the girl, but then he paused.

“Isn’t that Isabella?” Alex questioned himself as he got a glimpse of Isabella and another man.

“Not surprised.” Alex chuckled and continued walking behind the salesgirl.

Alex put on one of the tuxedos. He walked closer to the mirror to get a glimpse of himself. The tuxedo suit made him look expensive. His piercing blue eyes and dark curly hair just seem to match the tuxedo.

“I’ll take this one.” Alex said to the salesgirl:

“Sir, are you sure you want this one? It is quite expensive, and it is a limited edition.” The salesgirl stuttered.

Alex stared at her. He knew that she was talking that way because she saw how Alex looked when he entered the store. Parts of his clothes were torn, and his shirt looked untidy.

“Yes, you think I can’t afford it?” Alex glared at her.

“N-No, I don’t mean it that way. It’s just that...”

“How much is it?” Alex interrupted.

“Five thousand dollars.” The salesgirl replied.

“I would give you double of it. You can keep half for yourself.” Alex declared.

“S-S-ir?” The salesgirl was dumbfounded.

“Don’t waste my time.” Alex frowned.

The salesgirl quickly prepared his package. She held the package as they walked to the cashier. Alex paid with his fingerprint. The girl handed the package to him immediately.

“Thank you so much, sir.” The girl bowed her head.

Alex collected it from her without saying a word.

“Money truly makes you powerful.” Alex chuckled.

“I think I should get a car next; I really need to shock the whole family.” Alex smiled as he looked around the garage of the boutique.

Alex’s demeanor changed when he stared at a familiar car. It was Isabella’s car. He saw Isabella kissing a different man than the one he saw in the boutique.

Although their marriage was filled with hatred and regret, Alex had a little feeling for Isabella. They haven’t divorced yet, but she is already spending time with different men. Alex raged with anger as he saw the man pressing himself against his wife.
