CHAPTER THREE

 Alex stared around the room to confirm where the voice was coming from.

“Who is that?” Alex muttered.

Alex noticed the nurses and other patients couldn’t hear the voice. The patients were sleeping on their beds while the nurses were walking around the room.

A hologram screen appeared on the wall with the description:

Congratulations, Mr. Alex Patrick. You have unlocked the Super Wealth and Revenge system.

“What is this sight, and how did they get to know my name?” Alex questioned.

The description on the hologram changed:

{Name: Alex Patrick Calvin}

{Race: Human}

{Age: Twenty-two}

{Strength: Weak}

{Skills: Zero}

{Total task: zero}

{Balance: 10,000,000,000}

Alex was speechless. He kept rubbing his eyes to confirm that he was seeing clearly.

The feminine voice, which sounded robotic, came once again:

Congratulations, Mr. Alex. This wealth system allows you to withdraw any amount you like from your balance, but there are certain rules you must abide by.

“This keeps getting weird. Ten trillion dollars is not a joke, or did I hurt my head during the accident?” Alex placed his hands on his forehead.

He pinched himself to confirm that he wasn’t dreaming or hallucinating.

“That hurts.” Alex muttered.

“So, I’m not dreaming or hallucinating. "I have ten trillion dollars in my account?” Alex chuckled.

He looked up at the screen.

“What are the rules?”

A few tasks will be given to you that you must do; you must do the task even if it displeases you. Once the task is done, your skills will increase, and the amount in your balance will increase. Meanwhile, you have to spend the first ten trillion dollars wisely, and then we'll proceed to your first task.

“Even if the task displeases me? This is not a good one. I need to think about this.” Alex stared at the screen.

"This wealth system disappears in the next thirty seconds if you disagree with the rules."

“Thirty seconds?! I agree with the rules!” Alex shouted.

The patients and the nurses in the hospital ward turned to him.

“Mr. Alex, are you okay?” One of the young nurses asked him to walk closer to him.

“Yes, I am okay. I was just talking to myself. I enjoy having conversations with myself.” Alex chuckled.

“That’s actually an issue.” The nurse muttered as she turned to leave.

Alex heaved a sigh of relief. He was glad no one was seeing the hologram or having a conversation with the feminine voice.

{Congratulations, Your bank account has been topped with the sum of ten trillion dollars. You can pay with your biometrics, which include your face and fingerprints. You can also pay from your mobile phone or your bank card.}

Alex’s phone vibrated. He turned over on the bed to pick up his phone.

“Oh my god!” Alex covered his mouth as the phone fell from his hands onto his bed.

He was stunned by the credit alert. One that he has never seen in his entire existence on earth.

This wealth system was awarded to you because of your determination. You must obey every instruction given to you, and taking revenge on your wife’s family would be the first step after you’ve acquired as much wealth as possible. You can try out the system now. Goodbye.}

The hologram disappeared.

“Revenge on my wife’s family? That is what I’ve been craving all my life. This is such great and accurate timing. Once I acquire more skills and complete tasks, I can be the wealthiest man to ever live.” Alex chuckled.

Alex has been maltreated by his wife’s family since he was a kid. He grew up with them, but he got into a scandal with Isabella. Mr.Patrick, Isabella’s father, forced them to get married.

Alex moved to his wife’s house. He lived with Isabella, her mother, and her grandma. They joined hands to make Alex’s life miserable.

On one occasion, Isabella kneeled beside him outside the mansion on a winter night. The cold was too much and almost froze him to death, but Isabella didn’t mind.

“I love seeing you in pain. It fills my heart with joy and happiness.” She would always say this to him anytime he came to check on him.

Alex would quiver in fear, but instead of saving him, she would land a huge slap on his face and use ropes to flog his back.

Alex has been patient with his wife’s family, but now he has been patient enough.

Alex stood up from the bed and walked out of the ward.

“Mr. Alex, where are you heading to?” The nurse asked him to run after him.

“I’m okay, and I want to go home. I’m okay now.” Alex turned to her.

“It’s not done that way, Mr. Alex. Your hospital bills are yet to be paid, and your wife...”

“My wife? What happened to her?” Alex asked attentively.

The nurse bent her head.

“Your wife insisted we don’t let you out of the hospital even if you wake up. She has also refused to pay your bills.” The nurse replied.

Alex chuckled.

“As expected. How long have I been here?” Alex turned to her.

“For two days. An unknown lady brought you in and insisted we save you, but she is nowhere to be found now.” The nurse replied.

Alex nodded his head. He was glad a good Samaritan saved his life because if not, he would have been a dead man now, and his burial would be the best thing that had ever happened to Isabella.

“Don’t worry, I'll pay my hospital bills, and I can leave the hospital. Isabella can do nothing.” Alex assured the nurse.

The nurse nodded her head and walked away.

Alex walked to the cashier to pay his bills.

The cashier started laughing as Alex walked closer to him.

Alex stared at the cashier, wondering what was wrong with him, but he thought it was better to ignore the cashier.

“I would like to pay my hospital bills.” Alex said to the cashier

The cashier burst out laughing.

“What’s funny?” Alex frowned at him.

“You... make payment of your own bills? You need to get in. We know that your wife would be the one to pay your bills.” The cashier laughed.

Alex glared at him. He noticed the other cashiers were gently laughing too. He felt ashamed as his eyes fell on his torn trousers, but then he remembered who he was.

“You must not know who I am, but my net worth is over a trillion!” Alex yelled.

The cashier burst out laughing.

“It looks like you hurt your head during the incident. We all know you depend on your wife’s family for survival. Talking about net worth, I don’t think you’ve ever had more than a hundred dollars in your account.” The cashier laughed.

Alex smirked.

“How much are the hospital bills?” Alex glared at the cashier.

“Ten thousand dollars. I know you can’t afford it. Just get back to your ward. Your wife would be here soon.” The cashier sneered.

“I would give you a ten of that!”
