Chapter 7

Rex was going to practice his new enchantment but then he saw some students in his year going into another hall it seemed like a professor had scheduled a sudden class probably one that goes behind in the curriculum for that year and of course, nobody told him because they would rather see him kicked out of school than attending his classes.

The moment he walked into class tongues had already started wagging, I knew they were talking about him again. The voice had given him a chance to become even more laughable than before, but he told himself to be patient and in a few moments he will be showing them his new enchantment.

A smile immediately wrapped around his face as he got to a seat that immediately became empty the moment he slipped into it.

In a few moments, the professor walked in, and the lanky bearded male scanned the class with a scrutinizing gaze.

"I'm sure that some of you are very unhappy about this sudden class, but please if you have something else to do then you should know that the door is always open for you to leave at any time..."

As he was saying this he pointed his hands towards the door.

"Anyone?"

He asked and nobody moved an inch away from their seat.

"If that's the case then I expect your full consideration when we are having the class with no side talks..."

He said as he began to pull the notes out of his leather bag, he had dug them out and began teaching the class. Everyone was obviously frustrated, but of course, nobody dared to complain. This was the university that brought out the best wizards every year so they were expecting something as harsh as this.

however they were not thrilled about it, normally Rex was in favour of extra classes like this because he was so eager to learn about his skills and enchantments. outside of class, his professors preferred not to even look his way so there was no way he could consult them if he had any issues.

They all had the same advice to give, some said it in a more polite manner while others were more direct; that he should drop out as soon as possible to avoid embarrassing the university.

Rex didn't know who the voice was but he had a feeling that even if he had asked he would have probably been met with an answer that will not fully satisfy his question and that does not really matter to him what was of value to him was that he could get even stronger and he could learn another enchantment maybe after that people would recognise him again.

Maybe they wouldn't get up and run out of their seats the moment they saw that he was joining them.

Maybe they would not whisper and talk behind his back whenever he was passing by or whenever he wasn't even around and he just came up in a conversation.

He was fed up with being a social outcast.

"So does anybody know the answer to the question that I've written on the board?"

The Professor's voice cut through the entire hall, waking up Rex from his bed of thoughts and he brought his gaze back to the lanky professor and then over to the board where the question was resting waiting for an answer.

The question on the board was regarding the true form of energy that allowed itself to be transformed into different elemental features, basically, he was asking for a description of that pure energy.

People often said that this professor was so harsh that just failing questions in his lectures was enough to pull your actual grade down, the reason for this many believed was that the man said if you can't do well in normal classes then excelling in test or exams must mean that you cheated or you just cramped up information and have not really learnt.

"So nobody is going to answer this question or do you want me to answer it myself?"

The air was really thick and with how tense it was, that a dagger could cut right through it.

"Sir, I can answer the question.."

Rex said, holding up his hand.

Everybody's eyes came over to him, shooting was all over his body but he ignored their intense gaze. It was not the only thing that was getting ignored because the professor was trying to act as if he didn't see his hand.

"So is there really nobody that was to answer this question? Are we going to spend all of our day here?"

The professor said turning to everyone in the hall, he had confirmed in fear that Rex had had before that you would keep them in class before somebody had the answer.

And then since nobody had raised their hands up he was going to erase the question and pretend that Rex never did but then Rex was already coming down from his seat and he approached him and a few seconds later they were face-to-face with each other.

"Sir I think you missed me because I was behind but I was raising my hand so I could answer the question..."

"Is that so? are you sure that you really want to answer this question I feel like it's too hard for yo-"

"Energy in its purest form is..."

The entire hall was left in pin-drop silence

as Rex answers the question flawlessly. but then when the professor finally spoke he just scoffed.

"At least you are able to do this..."

Then he looked at the rest of the class.

"Have I been wasting my time so much that Rex has to be the one to answer my question?"

Rex felt like crawling back to his seat, even though he was able to do something the professor still managed to look down on him as he went back to his feet he said to himself.

"I'll prove it to all of you!"
