Evan took a closer look at the two hostages.

One of them was crying. Tears streamed down her face, her shoulders shaking as she fought back sobs. The other one hadn't shed a single tear. Her face was cold, her lips pressed tight, as if the gun at her temple meant nothing at all.

Oddly enough, that only made Evan more interested.

They were both breathtaking. Their faces were unfairly beautiful, their bodies curved in all the right places, and their chests were so full that the fabric of their clothes looked like it was struggling to keep up.

Evan clicked his tongue. His eyes moved to the rough arms of the hostage-takers wrapped around the two women, and his face soured right away.

"Damn it. Fine goods like that, getting pawed by two monkeys," he grumbled. "I'm not okay with this."

He stepped forward.

The crowd of onlookers broke into a stir when they saw five strangers push their way to the very front, walking past the police line like it wasn't even there.

"Brother, let us handle it," Mosa said quietly.

"No need. Leave it to me!" Evan grinned from ear to ear. "I wanna be the hero who saves the pretty ladies."

His four men looked at each other and sighed. They'd known that was the answer they were going to get.

Evan stopped next to an officer who seemed to be running the operation, then asked in the tone of someone asking for directions.

"Officer, it's fine if those guys die, right?"

The policemen exchanged looks, confused and irritated. One of them snapped at him.

"Hey, kid! Quit fooling around! Get back!"

Evan turned and gave him an indifferent look.

"Who says this handsome guy is fooling around?" He tipped his chin toward the tall building across the street. "Look up there. There are snipers who've been taking aim this whole time. Whoever moves first is dead. If I didn't have the skills, you think I'd have the guts to walk up here?"

The officers looked up. On the edge of the rooftop, something flashed for an instant, catching the evening light.

Their faces went pale.

"Snipers! Take cover!"

Panic exploded. The police ducked behind their cars while the onlookers screamed and scattered in every direction.

Before the police could react any further, Evan and his four men were already moving.

Evan shot straight toward the two hostage-takers. At the same moment, Mosa, Erik, Hunley, and Zeki kicked off the ground and soared up toward the rooftop. They didn't climb. They flew.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bullets rained down from above. Evan didn't dodge at all. The rounds slammed into his chest, his shoulders, his back, then dropped clinking onto the asphalt. Forget breaking his skin, they didn't even put a hole in his shirt.

Everyone who still managed to watch could only stare, dumbfounded. The five of them moved too fast, beyond anything that made sense.

The two hostage-takers were scared out of their minds. One of them jammed his pistol harder against his hostage's head.

"D-don't come any closer! I'll blow their heads off if you..."

He never finished the sentence.

A pair of hands had already clamped around both their throats.

Crack!

The sound of snapping bone rang out clearly. The two hostage-takers went limp and died on the spot, their pistols clattering to the ground.

Terrifying!

The two women stood there in a daze. The one who'd been crying even forgot to keep crying, while the cold-faced one stared at Evan, her eyes slightly wide.

It was over. The whole thing had taken a matter of seconds.

Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!

Four bodies were thrown down in front of the police line. They were the snipers, still alive but completely helpless. Mosa and the other three landed lightly behind them.

Evan dusted off his hands like he'd just taken out the trash, then turned to the two women and winked.

"Hey, beautiful, I hope we meet again. I can't stay and chat right now. I've gotta rush to my brother's wedding."

He turned around and walked toward his car.

The two women watched his back, burning with curiosity. And it wasn't just them. The police and everyone else left at the scene were wondering the same thing: who exactly was this man?

A few steps later, Evan stopped and looked back at the police.

"Oh, right. Those guys are from one of the big assassin organizations in the west."

Then he kept walking, leaving the officers frozen where they stood.

An assassin organization?

Night had fallen by the time the five luxury cars pulled up in front of a grand hotel in the heart of Moon City.

The guests in the courtyard turned to look right away. Five limited-edition cars arriving in a row, then five unfamiliar faces stepping out of them. Who were they? Whose side were they here for?

Evan paid no attention to the stares. He walked into the hall with a wide smile, already picturing the wedding wine in his hand.

That smile vanished the moment he passed through the doors.

There was no music. No laughter. The guests stood in a circle in the middle of the hall, whispering and pointing in one direction.

At the center of that circle, a man in a groom's suit was kneeling on the floor. His face was bruised and swollen, the corner of his lip split, blood dripping onto his white shirt.

It was Duan.

A few steps away from him, the bride in her white gown was hanging affectionately on the arm of a young man in expensive clothes. He was looking down at Duan with a mocking smile.

The temperature around Evan seemed to drop a few degrees.

"What's going on here?"

His voice wasn't loud, but the entire hall went dead quiet.

Duan lifted his head. The moment he saw who was standing there, his eyes went wide.

"B-Brother...?"

But a second later, he lowered his head again. He didn't dare answer.

Evan shifted his gaze. Standing near Duan were an old man and a young man about his own age. From where they stood, it looked like those two were the only ones who had tried to stand up for Duan.

"What exactly happened here, sir?" Evan asked the old man.

The old man let out a long sigh.

"The bride called off the wedding in front of all the guests. She chose Young Master Fero instead." He glanced bitterly at the young man in expensive clothes. "Young Master Fero is from the Feris family, a first-class family in Moon City. He humiliated Young Master Duan completely, then had his men beat him until he looked like this."

The anger in Evan's heart burned even hotter.

He looked at Duan, who was still on his knees.

"Duan." His voice was flat. "Don't tell me you didn't even fight back?"

Duan stayed silent. His head sank even lower, both hands clenched into fists on his knees, and he didn't dare say a single word.

Evan stopped. His hand went still on Madam Sandra’s shoulder.“Madam,” he whispered hoarsely. “I wanna see these big beauties of yours for real.”“I already told you, only over the clothes!” Madam Sandra clutched her dress even tighter.“Come on, Madam...”Evan didn’t pull at her. Instead his hand went back over the fabric and squeezed her breast harder than before, slow but deep, as if reminding her body of what it had just been feeling.Madam Sandra bit her lip. Her breath hitched, and her body, starved for so long, grew even hotter. Her defenses crumbled bit by bit, not because of Evan, but because of herself.“Fine, do whatever you want...” she finally murmured, turning her face away. Her hands slowly let go of the dress.Evan drew the fabric down along with the black bra strap. As the sight beneath was laid bare under the dim glow of the bedside lamp, full, smooth, and pale, with reddish-brown peaks, Evan swallowed hard.“So beautiful...” he murmured in awe. “This big and not sag

Madam Sandra froze.Evan’s whisper had hit her like a bolt out of the blue. Her face burned, from her cheeks all the way to her ears.“H-help?” Her voice trembled. “Young Master, do you... do you even realize what you just said?”“Totally.” Evan smiled without a hint of shame. “You’re the one who asked, right? So I gave you an honest answer.”“I’m Vanessa’s mother!”“Yeah, I know.”“I’m way older than you!”“I know that too.” Evan leaned back and looked her over from head to toe. “So what? You’re the one who got me like this. Sitting next to me in a dress like that, smelling this good. I’m a normal guy, Madam. Not a statue.”Madam Sandra glanced toward the hallway. The lights in Vanessa’s and Bianca’s rooms were still on, and from Disa’s room came the faint sound of laptop keys clicking.“Keep your voice down!” she hissed. “If they hear...”“That’s why I’ve been whispering this whole time.”Madam Sandra was at a loss for words. She bit her lip and turned her face away.“He’s crazy...

  • Chapter 19 Flirting with Her Mother

This widowed mother of Vanessa’s still had a truly stunning allure. Her face was beautiful, her skin clear and firm, showing no sign of her age at all. The tight dress she wore clung to her body, revealing every curve. Her chest was enormous, even bigger than Bianca’s. Her hips were full, her backside round and plump. And on top of all that, she carried a calm, mature aura. An aura no young woman could ever imitate.“Madam,” Evan said casually, “you’re still really beautiful, and you look young, too. Why haven’t you married again?”Madam Sandra’s hand stopped over a glass. She froze for a moment. Then she let out a soft sigh, set the glass down, and smiled as she looked at Evan.“Finding a man you can rely on is very hard, Young Master.” Her voice was gentle. “You must know what the circles of elite families are like. Most of it is just about gain. What they look at is the family name, the wealth, the connections. Not the person.”Evan nodded. He understood perfectly. No matter the co

Vanessa was the first to nod.“Alright, Grandpa. I’ll go along with your decision.”Bianca and Disa looked at each other, then agreed as well.“I’ll go too,” Madam Sandra said calmly. “If I’m there, I can keep an eye on the three of them.”Evan looked at Madam Sandra. The mature woman sat gracefully in a dress that hugged her ripe curves.“A beautiful older woman with a hot body at the villa. Not bad at all. Hehe,” Evan said to himself.“How nice it would be if I could stay at Young Master’s villa too.”That gentle voice came from where the Citra family was seated. Nadia was resting her chin on her hand, a small smile on her lips. Maybe she was envious, maybe there was some other reason.“If you want to, Miss Nadia, you’re welcome to!” Evan answered in a hurry.Vanessa and Bianca glared at him on reflex.“That bastard!” Bianca cursed in her heart.Nadia giggled. Her eyes flicked briefly to Vanessa’s cold face, then to Bianca’s annoyed one.“I’m only joking, Young Master. But if I ever

"Oh." Evan blew out his cigarette smoke, his tone dismissive. "And here I thought it was some big family..."Everyone was taken aback. The Yudi family of Cloud City, stronger than two first-class families combined, and this young man talked about them like he was discussing a food stall at the end of the street?"Young Master, what do you mean?" Old Master Jaya asked."Come on, relax." Evan waved a hand. "This family's going to be just fine."It didn't sound serious at all. But Old Master Jaya's face lit up at once, like a man who had just had a weight lifted off him."That's good... thank you, Young Master. Thank you.""Grandpa." Vanessa's voice trembled. Tears ran down her cheeks. "Can't you just not go and fight?""Yes, that's right, Father!" Madam Sandra added. "We still want you alive!"Old Master Jaya smiled peacefully."I still want to live too. Evan looked over the women in the hall one by one.The one who caught his attention most was a young woman sitting beside Old Master Pandu. Her beauty was on par with Vanessa’s. The difference was that she wasn’t cold at all. Her gaze was gentle, and there was a faint, friendly smile on her lips.“That’s my granddaughter, Nadia,” said Old Master Pandu, who had caught where Evan was looking.Nadia nodded politely. Evan answered with his best smile. Then his eyes moved to a mature woman sitting near Vanessa. Her face looked a little like Vanessa’s, only more refined, with a charm that only a woman her age could have.“And this is my daughter, Sandra. Vanessa’s mother,” Old Master Jaya introduced her. His voice dropped a little. “Vanessa’s father passed away in an accident a long time ago.”Madam Sandra smiled and bowed her head to Evan.“Thank you for saving my daughter, Young Master.”“You’re welcome, Madam.”Evan had just learned one thing. That cold woman had been without a father fo
