Chapter 7: The Elements and Celestials

So far, so good.

We've been walking for a while and still haven't encountered any enemies. This is good. If this keeps up, we'll find a town, and possibly I could see an Adventure guild there.

We were currently walking through a rocky plain and hadn't found any towns or villages yet. How long are we going to keep walking?

It's good that I have maxed stamina, but it gets boring and mentally tiring. I wonder how Ace and Violet are. I took a look at them, and they appeared to be fine. Since they were both strong monsters, they didn't get tired or bored and looked the same.

"Say, Terissa, if these two monsters were powerful, how powerful would they be?" I asked Terissa using Telepathy.

"You should try checking their stats. You'll be able to use it like what you did to the dragon," she replied in a tone like, 'Omg, are you serious? You should have done it beforehand' manner.

I used my appraisal sight and almost peed when I saw their power and skills.

Ace and Violet overpowered me and the dragon by a million points! Omg! They could kill me in an instant if they wanted to. And without my self-killing defensive spell against them, Fenrir had killed me already.

"They can't do that with or without your defensive spell. They already made a contract with you when they accepted the body you offered. They are aware of it and know they don't have a choice but to accept it. Without the bodies, they can't ever leave that castle. If you die, the bodies will disappear, and so will they, forever. Plus, you named them; their souls have been binded with you. "

"What!? How did that happen? Why didn't you tell me about it?"

"I was just waiting for you to ask," Terissa said before sighing. "Both of them knew it, so Hel didn't fuss about it."

Armed with the new information, I continued reading their stats. I found out that Fenrir is gluttonous, which means his appetite for food is unmeasurable, while Hel is a narcissist. And because of that, she had come to like beauty products.

"What the heck does this mean?"

"Well, I can only say you must try to earn enough money for them. They're going to blow your safe treasure in the future."

I dismissed Terissa, and I began to think deeply. I know I can cook. All I have to do is buy myself a portable gas stove and some ingredients. And for Hel, I'll see what some stores offer.

We continued walking until we reached a grassland. I saw a sign, so I looked at it, and it appears that we are in the Lakota, nation of Wind Element.

I knew because the signboard said so. "Nation where the wind blew freely"

"This is Nigiri's Nation," Violet said, sighing.

"Nigiri?" Who the hell is Nigiri?" I asked her.

"The Goddess of Wind. She's a dragon. Her statues were all scattered in this nation," Ace said.

"Did you guys meet her already?"

"Of course. Hel and her fought tooth by tooth back during the War of the Gods. Hel defeated her," Fenrir explained.

"And why didn't you become their Goddess?" I asked Hel.

"Nah, Leading a nation wasn't my thing, master," Hel replied.

I didn't ask further, and we continued walking until we entered the village. I'll ask around to see what kind of information I can get. I can't travel the world without knowing what to expect, but this War of the Gods has been bothering me.

"....."

"Oh, Terrisa," I told her when she immediately appeared in my mind.

"You could have asked me. What is the point of me being your world language if you ignore me? I can answer your query with my best knowledge, you know."

"Well, then you can tell me. I'm all ears."

"All I know was when the War of the Gods happened right after the Righteous one demolished Heavenly Principle Law. It means every God can rule any nation in this world. The Section of Lower Gods called Celestials began to fight. You can say it was a survival of the fittest. Among those Celestials were Fenrir and Hel. When the Heavenly Law was uplifted, one rule was established: all Celestials must fight until death for a whole month, and the nine Celestials who will emerge victorious will become Gaia's Lord of the nine nations. Light, Night, Wind, Earth, Fire, Water, Lightning, Ice, and Metal are the elements. With those wars among Celestials, creatures of all races suffered, and when the war ended, the nine survivors emerged, including Fenrir, the God of Light, and Hel, the Goddess of Dark. But for some reason, the two left their nation they were about to rule. It has been a rumor that they intentionally let their self capture for some reason. Since their disappearance, other surviving celestials took charge of their nations. Each nation has different laws, and you must remember them," she explained.

I secretly looked at my two bodyguards. They were still walking with me and occasionally talked to each other. They were Celestials, but what was the reason they didn't lead the nations they were supposed to be leading?

After about three hours of walking, we finally reached a village. We were able to settle down, and I got some information about this new world.

Right now, I am in Arlot Village. This village isn't well known, but they welcome people of any race. But before we could even enter the arc gate of Lakota, I paid nine gold coins for entrance. Three gold coins for each, and according to the guards, I must register to any Adventure guild to obtain an adventure card which I will show to the entrance of any nation I go to.

The guard said the adventure guild is located in the main city of Lakota, the Tenesse, which would take us a week before arriving by foot. That's good to hear because I plan to sell the dragon and its precious parts for extra cash.
