While on the call, a knock sounded on Jessica’s door. The banging was so loud that it even got her five-year-old, Caspian, woked up—scared.
"Who’s that?" Jessica snapped angrily, her hands still gripping tight on the phone she had been holding previously, making the call with Hazel. She rolled on her wheelchair, went to the door, then opened it. Opening the door, Abigail barged in.
"What’s taking you so long to open the door? And by the way, who are you even talking with on the phone?" she asked, glaring at Jessica with a dagger gaze. "Don’t tell me it’s that witch of a lady called Hazel," Abigail added with a frown on her face, chuckling.
"Well, I’m here to inform you about the party," Abigail said after some moment, moving her hands over Jessica’s wheelchair as she stood behind her.
"Party? Party for what?" Jessica asked, confused.
"Well, the party is actually for the steel manufacturing company. I want to celebrate the breakthrough we have. You well know that if it wasn’t for Derick, everything would have just been taken away from us. Imagine that big company shut down for some silly reasons we don’t even know about. So, it’s worth celebrating that the worst didn’t happen," Abigail said, exhaling with satisfaction.
Hearing what Abigail said, a glimpse of happiness hit Jessica. But at the same time, she wasn’t happy—she was halfway sad, and the reason was that Abigail had done something she shouldn’t. She had sacked someone she shouldn’t have—someone that had been there for Jessica all through her hard times, acting like the mother she had never gotten.
"Why is your face like this?" Abigail said, noticing Jessica’s pale look. Looking like she wasn’t happy about the news she just told her. "Ohhhh, are you angry because that good-for-nothing witch had left the mansion? Well, it serves her right," Abigail chuckled with a sarcastic smirk on her lips.
Just as Abigail was about to walk out of the room, Jessica’s voice sounded. "But why, step mom? Why didn’t you tell me before taking such a decision?" Jessica asked, her face darted to anger.
Abigail turned and looked at Jessica. "What’s your suggestion then? Do you want to go with her?"
"What do you mean, step mom? I don’t understand," Jessica protested.
"I said, do you want to join her so I send you packing out of the house as well? If yes, just let me know. By the way, you have no use here anymore," Abigail responded. Reaching to the door, she shifted her gaze to Jessica, who was glaring at her with a daze. She couldn’t believe what Abigail said—it was so unbelievable.
"And secondly, please don’t join the new chef I employed to cook for me again. She complained that she can’t stand your smelling body. She said you stink, and I can’t stand someone that stinks, smells, to prepare something for me that’s going into my stomach. Oh God, that’s disgusting, so pleased do yourself a good and stay away from my kitchen."
Abigail’s words were like a sharp sword piercing through Jessica’s heart. At some point, Jessica felt like her heart had stopped operating. Staring at her stepmother and hearing her unbelievable words made Jessica’s heart sink, her body completely getting numb.
The invitation was shared throughout the other rich families around Atlanta to come for the party. The next day, everything was set. The decorations were epic. The red roses placed at the entrance of the front door created a kind of epic classic rich scene that made everything perfect.
People from different rich families trooped into the mansion, prepared to come celebrate. What Abigail had tagged in the invitation letter was that she had saved the steel manufacturing company from the hands of bankruptcy, and she’s now the rightful owner.
Jessica was in her room while the house was filled with guests. She well knew that today was the party celebration, but she wasn’t happy about it. Now that Abigail had made it clear to her that she’s nothing in the family again got her pissed, and she wouldn’t want to attend any celebrations.
While Jessica was together with Caspian in the room, her door swung open, and a maid was holding a package of clothes in her hands. She approached Jessica and dropped it on the bed.
"Ma’am," she called out. "Miss Abigail said I should give this to you—that you will be among the people that would be serving the guests today."
"What?!" Jessica snapped, hearing the instructions the maid had come to deliver. Jessica was frustrated and angered, losing her temper not knowing when she flung the clothes from the bed where the maid had kept them, to the ground.
"Get out of here!" Jessica yelled angrily, her voice loud, filled with dismay.
"Sorry, ma’am. I was just following instructions," the maid replied politely, then gently walked out of the room.
Some minutes later, Abigail barged into the room. The sound of the door banging against the wall created a loud sound that awoke Caspian from sleep.
"I sent a maid to deliver a message to you, and you have the guts to shove her off? What’s your problem? Are you insane? When have you gotten so disrespectful?" Abigail yelled angrily, her face frowned, her teeth gritted against each other as she stood firm on the ground, staring daggers at Jessica.
"But stepmom, we have enough servants in the house that could get the job done. Why me? And by the way, I’m disabled, and you know that," Jessica replied, her voice slightly raised as she protested.
"Don’t you know you are also a servant?" Abigail responded, folding her hands against her chest as she gave a mocking smirk to Jessica.
Jessica was dazed, Abigail's words were cold to her ears making her remain frozen. "But..." Jessica tried to talk, but Abigail’s voice cut in.
"I want to make one thing clear to you, Jessica. If you don’t do as I’ve required, I’ll have no choice but to send you out of the mansion—and I damn mean it."
After saying this, Abigail walked out of Jessica’s room. Already awake, Caspian stared at all that had been happening. He gently touched Jessica on the face as he noticed tears dropping from her eyes.
"Mother," his sharp little voice cut in, snapping Jessica from the thoughts she was soaked in.
Jessica had always been obedient and respectful. Listening to the threatening words of her stepmother, she had no option but to bend to her will, doing exactly as she was told.
Jessica picked up the clothes from the floor and wore them, preparing to act as one of the servants in the party event held in her father’s house, just as Abigail had instructed.

“Why the hell didn’t you make me finish?” Shinda replied with a gasp, then chuckled in a taunting manner before pushing his body forward as he walked into the punched-hole house at which Abigail referred to as Pig House.“Ooh, God, this place stinks,” shinda recoiled, covering his nose. “Well, a person like you deserves a place like this after what you have done to my boss,” Shinda added. A Pain To Accept
“My sweet Isabella, come closer to me. You are my perfect daughter,” Abigail said, smiling. Isabella pushed forward, then came close to Abigail, hugging her while grinning. Abigail gently ran her hands over Isabella back as she spoke, slowly. "You have been here throughout the process of my plans. Me giving you the company I had collected from Jessica wasn't a mistake but a gift for your perfect prediction and guidance.""Hehe, what do you expect, Mum? It's me, the perfect photocopy of you. I will do anything to please you, Mother," Isabella replied, her grin as devilish as a devil."By the way, Mother, isn't that cripple supposed to be here cleaning the house?" Isabella asked, raising her head as she stared at her mother."Yeah, you just reminded me. I will send off the security to go get her in the pig house where she lived," Abigail laughed, after referring the house where Jessica lived as a pig house. Isabella laughed as well, then adjusted herself on the sofa she was seated on.
