Part 7: About the Suspicious Royal Dantech Company

Understanding Aland's facial expressions, Barvel finally cleared his throat. "It seems that Mr. Aland still needs time to adapt again," he replied.

Teddy looked awkward, also feeling guilty after not being able to know Aland's situation.

"Ah, well, I understand." Teddy chuckled at the end of his sentence. "Then let's go to the special waiting room, Masters Aland and Barvel. I have something to show you while waiting for things to cool down."

Situation eased?

Aland looked at Barvel even more surprised, as if demanding an explanation of Teddy's meaning. But Barvel was silent, looked at Aland with a facial expression implying meaning, and sighed softly.

Barvel did not answer anything. With one hand, he motioned for Aland to go first. Barvel's gesture of not wanting to explain made Aland feel suspicious.

'Is something dangerous going on?' asked Alan in his heart.

Because he didn't want to buy time, finally Aland stepped ahead of Barvel. They followed Teddy, down the private plane passenger lane where there was no one else.

The special lane for private plane passengers is then connected to the VIP lounge. There were already two bodyguards standing guard at the door, who immediately bowed after seeing Aland coming.

"Welcome, Mr. Aland," greeted the two male bodyguards.

Alan just nodded his head.

Aland and Barvel's steps entered the VIP room. There's no one in this room at all. Only a long sofa, a single sofa on the right and left with a table in the middle with a vase of flowers, also an aquarium with not too many fish.

The retro feel immediately amazed Aland. But Aland's admiration did not last long.

"I have to tell you something that might not be pleasant," Teddy said. He didn't sit down, waiting for Aland to sit down first. "Please sit down, Mr. Aland."

"What do you want to tell me, Teddy?" Barvel asked, sounding like he didn't want to be too late in pleasantries.

After Aland sat down, followed by Teddy, there was a moment of silence. Teddy seemed confused about how to explain. There was a pause, and Teddy just frowned at some thought.

"This is about Daneltha's technology company Royal Dantech, who was the enemy of the Hamilton family for years," Teddy answered, his tone hesitant.

"Just tell me," Barvel said curiously, "whatever you've got. Mr. Aland also needs to know what's been going on."

Aland didn't nod, but in his heart agreed with Barvel's words. Of course he couldn't help but be curious about what the situation would be as long as he went to a country on a different continent.

"Each year, the development of technology company Royal Dantech is growing rapidly. I get reports that they have received an injection of four thousand pounds for AI development."

Barvel was surprised to hear Teddy's explanation. "Are you serious? Where did you get that information from?"

Without answering, Teddy then showed something on his tablet. He held out the tablet slowly to Aland and Barvel.

Spontaneously Aland and Barvel drew closer together, watching the tablet screen more intensely. There is a display of several news pages, almost all of which have titles mentioning one company.

Royal Dantech Company.

"The stories appear simultaneously on the search page. I suspect they pay the media to release stories with the exact same headlines as each other," Teddy explained again. "Then, all the news reports the same content."

"Royal Dantech Company managed to secure a £4,000 cash injection for a friendly AI program?" Alan read one of the headlines.

Teddy nodded his head. "Yes, that. Getting an injection of funds, plans to release an AI program that can work as an employee of a bank, hospital or offices."

"They want to replace human power with machine power?" asked Barvel with eyes focused on reading one of the news.

"Not replacing, but side by side. Unfortunately, you know how the top brass of the Royal Dantech company are."

Barvel didn't say anything. Reading one news that showed a photo of the Royal Dantech Company's CEO smiling broadly. There were no problems, especially the concern that the company would be unable to compete with the Hamilton family's company.

"They won't be satisfied," Barvel muttered, still in Teddy's ear. "Even though one technology has been created, it will create another technology. Innovations are built in close time, but the release is never on time."

"I think they did it on purpose to steal their investors' money."

Barvel's voice squeaked as he laughed sarcastically. Her reaction made Alan turn to her.

"Wait. I've been reading the newspapers and it also mentions the Royal Dantech Company," Aland replied. "That wasn't just once or twice. But over and over, in almost every issue of the newspaper. Are they... so dangerous?"

Aland actually questioned that because he was too small back then. All that was in his memory was the incident during the sudden attack on the party. Not the Royal Dantech Company, which turned out to be the Hamilton family agent's suspicion that it had something to do with the attack.

"Well, Mr. Aland..." Teddy readied his position. "When master was a child, the Hamilton family company was experiencing rapid progress. His position was always ranked first to be a pioneer of business innovation in various fields. And, because of that, the Daneltha family became a competitor to the Hamilton family."

"Their ambitions are enormous," Barvel replied, "they hate the Hamilton family so much, that even the corporate ranking positions between the two conglomerate families often overlap."

"Nothing can stop the Royal Dantech Company's ambitions."

"And, no one doesn't know the intense competition between the two companies."

Aland watched Barvel and Teddy after they both spoke back and forth. Aland's brow furrowed, showing astonishment.

"Then... they became the people you suspect?" he asked. Because he thought, the news in the newspapers was just a play on media titles.

Who knew that behind the Royal Dantech Company, there were even more powerful forces protecting them?

That was Alan's thought all along.

"Yes, because after the Hamilton family company began to experience bankruptcy, the Royal Dantech company actually experienced an increase," said Teddy revealed.

"Aish, damn it." Barvel suddenly cursed. But when he woke up, Barvel immediately smiled awkwardly at Aland and Teddy. "I'm just annoyed, not... angry. More like angry with something in the news."

"What is it?" Alan's curiosity arose.

Teddy's tablet that Barvel was holding was then asked by Aland. After being given the tablet, Alan read the news that Barvel had read earlier.

In one of the sentences written in the contents of the news, Alan read:

Investors who contributed funds to the Hamilton family company decided to switch to donating funds to the Royal Dantech Company.
