Chapter 11

With one last dangerous glance at Adolphus, Richmond began to leave the hotel with his clique while Adolphus waved them goodbye, grinning mischievously.

At the garage where his BMW was parked, Richmond stopped beside his car, his chest inflating and deflating. 

There was so much rage in him as he balled his fist as if he was going to hit someone. To be honest, he would have hit any of his friends if they hadn't kept to themselves.

They were very aware of Richmond's character and how they could be his next target if he had been annoyed by someone.

“Damn that bastard." He yelled, lifting his fist to hit his car. However, he had to stop himself halfway to avoid getting himself injured or even damaging his precious car.

“How dare that minion challenge me. Now his friends are also bringing words to me, insulting me." Richmond barked, still breathing heavily.

“I've become the object of gossip in Boston University. Me, Richmond." He hit his chest while speaking like he was using all his energy.

“Babe, you have to calm down and plan your comeback. I don't know how Adolphus did it but he got us this time. He got us arrested before everyone just to be humiliated. To be honest, I still can't comprehend how he was able to pull that off.” Svetlana reached out to Richmond, calmly patting him on the shoulders.

“You know what, Babe. Let's just leave this place. We need to eat something first and don't worry, I'll treat you guys to a meal." Svetlana added, staring into Richmond's face who was gradually calming down.

Turning to Vincent and Gabriel, she said to them. “Come on guys, let's get out of here." 

As they all got into the car, Richmond sighed deeply and turned to stare briefly at each of them before muttering.

“Guys, after our lunch, we're going to meet with Mr. Lesley Gibson. I need a very good explanation on what happened earlier. He was supposed to take care of Aloysius. However, I still can't comprehend how everything turned against us.”

“That's right, Rich. Mr. Lesley must explain what happened." Vincent replied while Gabriel agreed with him before remarking.

“That's right, Boss. We always got your back." 

Richmond chuckled and turned to Gabriel who spoke last, a cold glare masking his face making his friends very uncomfortable.

“Gabriel, did you just say that you always got my back?" 

“Yeah, Rich. That's what I said. Is there anything wrong with what I just said?" Gabriel carefully chose his words, picking them one by one.

He was a little terrified and could not comprehend Richmond who was still glaring at him.

After a long pause, Richmond began to laugh and they joined him even without learning the reason for his laughter.

While they were laughing, Richmond suddenly stopped and snorted coldly. “If I was a church rat like Adolphus, would you have been foolishly following me around like you do?”

There was silence at the place.

Even Svetlana becomes a little uncomfortable as she tries to digest Richmond's words.

Were those words also directed to her since she'd also been following Richmond around.

“You're only with me because of what I have to offer you." Richmond added, smiling evilly at his friends whose heads were now lowered.

He reached out and patted each of them before muttering. “That's why I love you guys. You're very loyal and we'd never have any problem in the future as long as you don't betray me." 

The boys nodded in unison. “We'd never betray you, Rich. You're our best friend and nothing can take that away." 

“Good." 

Even though Richmond had just insulted them, they were still pledging their loyalty to him.

They were already used to his demeaning attitude but they could do nothing about it. As long as he still spends the money, it was fine with them 

"Babe, don't tell me that those words you just uttered are also applied to me because I won't take it." Svetlana frowned her face, quickly faking anger.

With a warm smile on his face, Richmond reached for her at the passenger seat and drew her closer to himself, staring dotingly into her.

“You are the love of my life and don't even think that I'd do anything to make you angry. I love you, Svet and that's all that matters.”

"In fact, I want you always by my side.”

Svetlana was immediately swept off her feet by those sweet words of Richmond.

"I love you too, Rich.” She replied back and quickly repaid his sweet words with a wild kiss that lasted for thirty seconds before they drove away.

Meanwhile, Adolphus and his friends began to walk out of the hotel's restaurant but he stopped as soon as they were outside, close to the road.

“Uh, Donald, Glover. You guys should wait for me here, I'll be right back. I think I forgot my phone on our table." 

"Ok, hurry up then. We'll be waiting for you.” Glover replied and led the way to a closeby bus stop while Donald followed behind.

"Hurry up, man. Remember that we haven't done the last project Mr. Hank gave to us. You know how that man can be.” Donald added and Adolphus nodded at him.

"Of course, that's not a big deal.”

Before the guys could utter another word, Adolphus was already out of their sight. 

He didn't forget his phone, he was just going to have a talk with Pius.
