"There's something I have to do there," Mikael continued with determination.

Jonah was stunned, staring strangely at his friend who usually didn't care about anything other than his beautiful wife. "Since when have you been interested in palace affairs?"

"What do you want to do at the palace?" Jonah looked curious.

Mikael smiled mysteriously. "Let's just say I'm trying to change things."

Jonah looked confused by Mikael's answer, which he found strange.

Actually, it was quite difficult to enter the palace. Permission was not easy to obtain except on certain days when the palace allowed residents from outside the palace to enter.

However, Mikael Summer, his friend, had helped him in many ways. He felt so sad when Mikael had an accident.

When Mikael was still lying in a pitiful condition, he had promised that if his friend woke up from his coma, he would do anything to help Mikael.

Recalling his own promise, Jonah nodded firmly, "I ... will try to contact one of my friends. He works at the palace. He must be able to help us."

"Is your friend a royal staff member?"

Jonah chuckled softly, "You can't exactly call him royal staff, but you could say he works at the palace entrance. He's not a permanent employee, just a temporary worker. I think his job is similar to conducting initial checks on everyone who enters the palace."

Mikael nodded with relief. "Thank you."

Jonah shook his head, "No need to thank me. So ... what are your plans now?"

"I want to go to SSC bank."

"You ... want to withdraw your savings?"

"Yes. I need it."

Jonah nodded in understanding and immediately drove his car towards the bank.

Mikael Avery intended to withdraw all of Mikael Summer's savings.

Of course, this was necessary so that he could use it for certain things. Because, obviously, he couldn't use all of his wealth.

His new identity prevented him from doing all that.

So, he was determined to continue being Mikael Summer and use everything that man had for his own benefit.

However, after waiting for a long time, an employee returned his savings book.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Summer. Your account is empty."

Mikael stared in shock, "What? That's impossible. I ... I never withdrew any money."

Mikael knew that Mikael Summer's savings account didn't even have an ATM card. That's because Mikael had no intention of withdrawing his savings at all.

He wanted to use the money to buy a house as a gift for their 5th wedding anniversary.

"But ... your balance is already empty, Sir."

Mikael was stunned.

Realizing that there was something strange about the withdrawal of the savings, Mikael quickly asked, "Can you please check when the money was withdrawn?"

The bank clerk checked on his monitor. He immediately replied, "A week ago, Mr. Summer."

Mikael gritted his teeth, "Does it say who withdrew the savings?"

The bank clerk checked again and then took the document and handed it to Mikael.

As Mikael read it, he became even more furious.

Jenna Brown.

The name was clearly written on the withdrawal document.

The woman had used a check with Mikael's seal. The transaction was valid because Jenna was indeed Mikael's heir, as Mikael Summer had no other relatives besides his wife.

Mikael Summer was still in a coma at the time, and Jenna used that as an excuse to take all his money.

With great reluctance, Mikael left the bank without a single penny.

Jonah raised his eyebrows when he saw his friend's gloomy expression. "What's wrong, Mike?"

"Jenna took all the money."

Jonah, who was chewing pizza, immediately choked. "What? Oh my God, how could she do that?"

Mikael explained briefly, and after that Jonah threw away his pizza in annoyance.

"Materialistic woman. Oh my god! You're still alive and she took all your money? She ... is really out of line."

Mikael sighed softly.

If he asked Jenna for the money, he wasn't sure she would give it to him. Besides, he still had unfinished business with the Brown family.

He didn't want to waste time asking for the million euros that Jenna had taken.

"Crazy. She's completely insane."

"Never mind, I'll find another way." Mikael thought casually.

Jonah sighed wearily, "Come on ... let's eat first."

Mikael didn't refuse, and they went to a restaurant that wasn't too big.

While waiting for their order to arrive, Mikael narrowed his eyes when he heard a news report on television.

"You ... are really interested in the palace, aren't you?" Jonah commented as his friend stared intently at the television screen.

"King Philip, who had originally ordered an investigation into the death of General Avery, a great war general of the Kingdom of Arans, has now given orders to stop the investigation."

Everyone in the restaurant area began to murmur in annoyance.

In fact, they began to comment on the news from the palace.

"How can the king stop the investigation?"

"Isn't it obvious that General Avery's death was planned?"

"Is he stupid? Can't he see that it was murder?"

Jonah nodded in agreement, "That's right. It doesn't make any sense. Why is he closing the case?"

Mikael did not respond to the comments and continued to listen to the news anchor who was still talking.

"There were no suspicious findings related to General Avery's death. Most likely, the attackers were a group of robbers who attacked people at random. The tragic event ... just happened to happen to General Avery."

Mikael immediately clenched his fists.

His blood was boiling.

He had just died a few days ago, and now his death wasn't even being properly investigated.

In fact, according to palace regulations, every unnatural death of an official in the palace must at least be investigated according to royal protocol. Usually, such investigations take up to six months.

However, Philip Graham closed the investigation into the case just a few days after his death.

What really happened? What is the king planning? Mikael wondered.

"Hey, how about we stage a demonstration?" someone suddenly blurted out.

Jonah immediately responded enthusiastically, "I agree. Mikael Avery is our royal hero. How can his terrible death not be investigated fairly by the palace?"

"That's right, you're right. If it weren't for General Avery, our kingdom would have been colonized by the Kingdom of Melona. He is ... our savior. I can't let the case of his death end in such uncertainty," replied another visitor.

Jonah was so enthusiastic that he immediately asked the other restaurant visitors, "How about we protest at General Avery's funeral?"

Mikael stunned.

He, who knew Philip Graham's character, suddenly commented, "The king won't care about something like this."

"What do you mean?"

"You guys ... are nobodies. King Philip won't even glance at or pay attention to a demonstration like that."

Jonah was surprised to see his friend join in the conversation, but the offended visitor immediately responded angrily, "How dare you! We ... are his people. He is the king. How can we be nobodies?"

Mikael suddenly turned to the man. The man immediately fell silent.

"If it weren't for us, his people ... how could he be called king?"

Mikael was stunned.

It was the first time he had seen things from a different perspective.

In the past, as a war general, he only knew that his duty was to protect all the inhabitants of the Kingdom of Arans.

He had never interacted with the people, and only now did he see how the people of the Kingdom of Arans were willing to do dangerous things to uphold justice for him.

"Besides, we did the right thing. This is about General Avery. Someone who has contributed so much to the Kingdom of Arans. You can't possibly ask us to remain silent while the death of our war general is still shrouded in mystery?"

Mikael felt slapped by those words.

Jonah looked at his friend with raised eyebrows, "Mike, what's wrong with you? Are you siding with King Philip?"

Dilon let out a long sigh, his gaze softening as he looked at Arion. “Don’t twist it like that,” he said softly. “You’re still my friend. You always have been. That hasn’t changed.”Arion fell silent for a moment, but his jaw tightened. “But you just said we’re here to compete.”“Yes,” Dilon replied firmly. “As participants, we are rivals. But that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped considering you a friend.”The explanation made sense, but for some reason it only made Arion even more annoyed. There was something in Dilon’s tone-too rational, too cold that made him feel like their relationship was being weighed, not lived.“I don’t like the way you think,” Arion muttered finally.Dilon frowned. “Arion, it’s not what you think. You’re just-”“It really doesn’t matter if you consider me a rival too,” Arion cut in quickly. He turned around, then walked away, choosing to sit on the other side of the room.
