Revived: The Archmage's Return to the Urban World

Five years ago,

M.A.S.K.S headquarters,

"Open the gates!" Someone yelled as five black convoys passed through three gigantic gates. The convoy stopped in front of a skyscraper and two guards wearing red masks rushed out of two Benz to open the car door of the limousine, which was the last vehicle. Three men came out of the limousine with masks on. Their faces were not visible because of the mask, but they all had a unique height. It is tall like a giant but lean like a pawpaw tree. They all had different colored masks on. Two of them had black and yellow masks on, respectively, while the last one had a white mask on. The three men had written on their masks.

Their faces were hidden, but underneath their masks, they all had a secret best known to themselves. The three men walked to the entrance of the skyscraper accompanied by five guards wearing red masks, while the rest stayed outside the building. A white woman wearing a lab coat, an I.D, and a red mask bowed to them at the entrance and beckoned them to follow her. They exchanged no words as they followed the woman's lead. She took them to the elevator and pressed the tenth floor. They rode the elevator in silence, and when they got to the tenth floor, they all came out.

The woman took them down a hallway, and on each side of the hall was a creature that looked like humans immersed in a pink liquid with wires attached to their bodies. When they got to the end of the hallway, the woman unlocked a door using the I.D tag on her neck. The door opened with a beep, and they all stepped into a new world. White light filled the entire room; they had all just walked in. On the right side were people with lab coats and red masks. Some of them were walking around with files in their hands, while the rest of them were each facing a computer and typing endlessly on the keyboard.

On the left side was a teenage boy cuffed to a bed with shackles. The boy was naked, and a closer look showed whip marks on his body. He was growling like a wolf and gritting his teeth. Wires were attached to his stomach and connected to a machine that was showing a reading. The boy's eyes were blood-red, as if he was a vampire. Two men stood beside the boy and injected a syringe filled with a brown liquid into the boy's neck. The boy showed no sign of pain as he was stabbed aggressively. Whatever was in the syringe stopped the boy from growling and gritting his teeth.

"This is MASK 001," the white lady announced to the three men. "He survived the tests." He doesn't feel pain. " She explains to the men. "Gid, please show them." She ordered one of the doctors standing beside the boy. Gid nodded in response and grabbed a pair of scissors from a tray where the used syringe lay. Gid moved closer to the boy and slashed him with the scissors. The red liquid pooled quickly, but the boy made no sound, instead staring at the doctor with emotionless red eyes."There you have it."

"Tell me, Maria," the man wearing a white mask addressed the white woman. "What else can this boy do?"

"A lot, sir," Maria replied. "MASK 001 can heal faster than normal humans." "Bida," she called the second doctor. "Please show them."

Bida proceeded to inject the boy with a syringe filled with blue liquid. The whip mark and scissors slash disappeared from the boy's in seconds.

"Wow!" The man exclaimed.

Apart from that, Mask 001 can infect more than 300 people in five minutes because of the venom present in his body system. Our doctors had made sure he got mixed venom from snakes, scorpions, and other venomous substances in the last ten years. " Maria explained.

"How does this venom work?" One of the men wearing a black mask was questioned.

"Very simple, sir. If 001 makes any contact with any human material, or even the human itself, they are easily infected within ten seconds maximum. Come, I'll show you all examples of 001 toxicity. " Maria said to them and walked farther into the left side of the room while the men followed alongside the guards accompanying them. They got to the front of a door, which was opened by Maria, who used her ID card to gain access into a room with a red light. They all walked into the room, but one of the men shouted when he saw a man without arms and one of his eyes missing. As if that wasn't enough, more than ten people, both men and women, were caged inside different glasses with wires attached to their bodies. When they saw Maria and the men walking in, they began to hit the glass. They were caged in Most of them were missing different body parts.

"Are we safe here?" The man with the white mask answers the question.

"Of course, sir. The glass can only be broken down by melting it. " She pointed to a gigantic machine that stood at the corner of the room. "These are experiments that got exposed to 001 venoms."

"Why are they looking at that?" The man with a yellow mask was questioned.

"Because they've lost their insanity." These experiments have no humanity left in them, but they portray zero behavior consistent with cannibalism. Once they get infected with venom from 001, their brains shut down immediately, and once the venom spreads to every part of their body, they see humans as a threat and kill them once sighted. Any human they attack also gets infected with the venom and it goes on and on like that. "

"Excellent!" The man with the black mask applauded.

"Thank you, sir," Maria bows in response.

"How do we know this is true, Maria?" The man with the white mask was questioned suspiciously.

"Very simple, sir. We will need an experiment to find that out. We are currently short of experiments, so maybe some other time. " Maria answered back.

"We have an experiment here already!" The man with the white mask grinned wickedly and beckoned to his guards to grab the man with the black mask.

"What are you doing, Raymond?" The black man shakes in fear and tries to free himself from the grips of the guards. "Why are you doing this?" The man yelled.

"No one betrays me and lives to see the next minute, but I made an exception because you are my friend." You ratted me out to my brother! If I hadn't been strategic, he would have figured me out! " The man, identified as Raymond, yelled.

He called him by another name. "I'm sorry, Davinson." "Have mercy! I have a family waiting for me. "

"The more experiments we have, the more successful the project will become!" Raymond or Davinson burst into laughter. "Take him and get him injected!" He ordered

"Right away, sir!" Maria bowed and walked out of the room filled with humans they called an experiment. The man with the yellow mask hurried after her, but he was dragged back by Raymond.

"Don't run yet, Jones, or have you betrayed me as well!" Raymond roared.

"No Raymond!" Jones shook in fear.

"Very well, then. Let's go see what happens to the betrayal! " He laughed and walked out of the room, leaving Jones trailing behind. They both watched as the man with a black mask was tied to another bed beside Mask 001. The man yelled, kicked, and scratched until he was injected with the venom from 001. That's the moment the room grew silent until the shouting began again. That was where it all started.
