Chapter One Heard Of The Shock
“Do you mean that Wrecked Bastard?”
“Yes…”
“Oh, C’mon,”
“I already told you he’s locked up in prison. By now, he’s probably rethinking all his life choices.”
“Why don’t you come closer? Make love with me harder than you did yesterday.”
Liam opened his eyes widely as he stood by the door, hearing all of this.
There was no mistaking the voice; he recognized it. It was Betty, his wife. She was with a man in their home, and they seemed to be…
“Hmmmm, yes, yes…hmmm,” he heard Betty moaning, her voice growing fainter second by second.
His heart tightened, hands trembling. He pushed the door open.
“Betty?”
Liam's breath hitched.
Betty was draped across the bed, Lucas hovering over her. His shirt button had already been loosened, and his pants were down to his toes.
“F**k!” Betty blurted.
She wanted to jump up, lie this was not what it looked to be, but she quickly shook it off.
“When did you get out?” she asked coldly as she slowly got out of bed.
She stretched her hand to the top side of the bed and picked up her body towel. She wore it over her nightie and folded her arms into her chest.
“You should have called me before coming. Now see what you found me doing.”
“Call before coming?” Liam muttered. His heart aching.
He shifted his eyes to the man on the other side of the bed. He watched as he slowly put on his pants.
“Who is he?” he asked. His voice low.
He shifted his gaze back to Betty.
“I am—”
“He is someone beyond your league, so, now, what?” Betty hissed, interrupting the man.
He was Lucas Williams. The Heir of Williams House International.
Liam wanted to pound on Lucas. Punch him in the face until he learnt not to ever sleep with someone else’s wife again.
But he stopped himself before he laid any hands on him. He just came out of prison, and he doesn’t wish to return there for any reason.
“Leave,” Liam commanded. His eyes brimming with fury yet his voice was low, broken, but firm.
“Seems like I will see you some other time, dear,” Lucas said, turning to Betty.
Then he slowly began to button up his shirt.
When he was done,
“Deal with him for now. We will continue from where we stop tomorrow,” he eyed Liam badly from head to toe and then smirked like he was the man of the hour.
He carried his briefcase and stepped out of the room.
Just as he left,
“I went to prison because of you, and this is how you repay me?” Liam's voice rose.
Betty tilted her head, a smirk playing on her lips.
“What, you expected me to wait around?”
“Do you expect that I will wait for a criminal like you? Someone who was caught and sentenced to prison?”
The words cut him deep, twisting in his chest like a blade.
Five years ago, Betty was driving the Ferrari that Michael Kingston, her father, gifted her for her birthday. She drove too recklessly under the influence of alcohol.
At 100km/h she thought she could still handle the speeding car, but she lost control.
She crashed it.
Hit an old woman.
The woman died instantly.
Panicked, she didn’t know what to do. She got out of the car and started running away.
Seeing her from afar, Michael burst into tears. Their reputation would be hurt if the public found out that his child killed someone.
He turned to Liam and begged him to take the fault.
But now, Betty just called him a criminal?
***
Liam turned gently; he wanted to leave the room.
Go to the guest room where he always slept.
There was no need to argue for now. He was too tired, and he needed rest.
Immediately as he stepped out,
“Where is he?!!”
“Where is that useless son-in-law?!”
He recognized the voice. It was Michael Kingston.
A resounding slap landed on Liam's cheek the moment Michael reached him.
His eyes didn’t show guilt; they showed the cold calculation of a man looking at a loose end that needed to be tied off.
“How dare you interrupt Mr Williams?”
“How did you even get out?”
“You committed another crime, huh? Criminal! I’m asking you?”
“You!” he turned to one of their house keeper standing at a corner, seeing everything happening,
“Fetch me my phone! I’ll call the warden myself. One word from me, one 'misunderstanding' about a stolen watch, and you’ll be back in a cell before dinner!"
Liam looked shocked.
Michael hated him. But he didn’t think he would ever call him a criminal or have to go to this extent of wanting to lie against him.
He was the one who curried favour from him to take the blame for his daughter.
Having paid a sacrifice, he expected to be treated fairly upon his return.
But they were quick to call him names.
“Look here Mr Kingston.” Lucas stepped out from behind the corner.
He hadn’t left contrary to how he pretended he did earlier on.
He always loved to show his dominance, and he wouldn’t miss this chance to do so.
“This piece of shit should bow, apologize and leave here at once.”
“How can you allow such a lowlife to walk freely into your home and interrupt my good time with Betty?”
Lucas stretched his hand, and Betty walked out of the room. She smiled and lay her head on Lucas’ arm.
“I will fix this, please.” Michael bowed immediately, his voice shaky.
Knowing Lucas' position at William House International, he would do anything to please him.
He furrowed his brow, darted an angry eye at Liam.
He grabbed his collar again and pushed him to hit the wall.
“Look here!” He roared, spitting directly at his face.
“I don’t care if you just get out of prison. I don’t care if my father likes you, and because of him, you had the grace to marry my daughter.”
“Bow right now, apologize to Mr Williams and get out. If you fail to do it, trust me, I will make that call, I will lie that you came back to steal from me and I will make sure you die in prison!”
Michael released his grip.
He stepped one step backwards. His eyes were glaring at Liam.
“C’mon, do it, Liam. Do it and save yourself from returning to jail.” Betty scoffed.
Lucas tapped his feet on the floor continuously, waiting for the scumbag who caught him with his girlfriend to apologize already.
“Bow already bitch!” He sneered.
Liam let out a slow breath.
He never thought he would be forced to do this type of thing in his life, even when he was the one who was wronged.
But the threat was real.
Even though he was released by a pardon on good behaviour, he knew what Michael was capable of.
His lies and his false petition would make him rot without anyone ever looking for him.
He sighed again, slowly.
“I’m sorry. That’s all you’ll get from me. Now, if you may.”
He adjusted his shirt and stepped out through the front door.

From Prison To Billion-Dollar Empire Chapter Nine The Vault and The Buy
Harold stood before the sleek, matte-black terminal mounted on the wall. He didn't just press a code; he waited for the thin line of a red laser to sweep across his retina. A soft chime echoed in the silent corridor, followed by the heavy thud of internal bolts retracting. Then, the steel door, twelve inches of solid reinforced titanium, slid open with a hiss of pressurized air.“Please come in, sir.”Harold bowed respectfully, stepping forward first. Liam followed closely behind him, his footsteps echoing faintly against the polished floor as the door sealed shut behind them with a quiet, final thud. The room was effective with air conditioning, so much so that the temperature dropped instantly upon entry. "We keep the vault at exactly 45°F (7°C) to preserve the integrity of the vintage currency and the specialized security electronics, sir."The cold wrapped around Liam’s skin, sharp and clean, as though he had stepped straight into winter. It felt unnaturally cold, like a winte

From Prison To Billion-Dollar Empire Chapter Eight The Wealth and The Grand
“You son of a bitch, what did you do?”Liam smirked as he stared at his phone screen, unbothered. The text had come from Betty. He understood it perfectly. It was obvious she’d learned what had happened to their prized warden dog, and judging by the rage dripping from the message, she was texting him to wail, threaten, or both.Liam’s smirk deepened. He didn’t reply.Instead, he slipped the phone back into his pocket with deliberate calm. The very first moment Berry came into his life, he had been the one who handed him a phone and a SIM card, insisting that Liam needed a clean, private line. He was still using that same SIM, and it was through that line Betty had managed to reach him. “Sir, we will be arriving at the first location in one minute.”Edwards’ eyes flicked up to the rearview mirror. He studied Liam carefully, respectfully. There was no panic on Liam’s face, no trace of worry, only composure. ***On the other side of the city, chaos reigned.Betty paced to and fro ac

From Prison To Billion-Dollar Empire Chapter Six Arrested
Water dripped down to the ground like a ticking clock, each drop echoing through the cold concrete corridors. In the same manner, metals clanged together, filling the prison with a harsh, restless rhythm that never truly stopped.“Move it!” a warden barked. He held a bludgeon stick firm in his right hand and fired the order at a prisoner dressed in an orange jumpsuit. The sound of boots scraping against the floor followed immediately after, rough and impatient. His name was Warden Markson, the senior warden in Greenfield Prison. He was a man who walked as though the walls themselves bowed to him, his presence heavy and unchallenged.“Sir, he’s here. He’s been re-arrested as you ordered.” A junior warden bowed slightly toward Markson, his voice low and respectful as he delivered the message.A few hours earlier, Markson had received a call from Michael Kingston. Michael was the one who had gotten him the job at the prison, and it was through his recommendation that Markson had risen t

From Prison To Billion-Dollar Empire Chapter Five The Divorce
The whole family of the Kingston’s sat by the long mahogany table right in the main building, the atmosphere heavy and suffocating, as though the walls themselves were listening. No one spoke at first, yet everyone knew why they were there.“Please Mr Williams, at least sit down and watch how we are going to deal with this bastard,” Micheal gestured, sitting at the edge of the table, his voice forced into politeness despite the irritation flashing in his eyes.“Please Mr Williams,” Carter Kingston echoed. His tone was low, calculated. As the eldest child of the Kingstons, he carried himself just like his father. Lucas remained standing, his feet tapping aggressively against the ground, each movement revealing the anger boiling inside him. He had no intention of sitting—not yet.Betty stood just behind him, hesitant, afraid to even touch him. She knew Lucas well enough to understand that when he was this angry, he could do and undo without blinking.“I won’t sit until you do something

From Prison To Billion-Dollar Empire Chapter Four Berry Grave
The limousine glided to a silent halt by the front gate of the Kingston’s villa.“Don’t follow. I need to do this alone.” Liam voiced, his dark golden leather Italian shoe clicking firmly against the ground as he stepped out.Yesterday, he was a man dressed in ordinary clothes and cheap sneakers, feeling beaten as he sat on a public chair by the roadside, exposed to the eyes and judgment of strangers. Today, he was transformed. Clad in the best dark suit and polished shoes like someone reborn, someone untouchable.“Yes, boss.” Edward answered, already turning the wheel as he drove speedily off the instant Liam approached the gate.Liam took a deep sigh, steadying himself. Then he walked through the gate gently. The Kingston Villa was a large vast of different mansions, arranged in such a way that every member of the family had their own quarters, each structure standing like a silent witness to power and legacy.Inside the vast compound stood a sacred building dedicated to Berry.
