Mrs. Nathan immediately turned toward the window, scanning the compound. Her voice dropped into a sharp whisper as she shut the door with a quiet click, striding toward Caleb with widened eyes.

“What nonsense are you saying, Caleb? Are you out of your mind? What if someone was eavesdropping?” she hissed. “What if they tell Muna—or anyone from the Scotts?”

Caleb gave a nonchalant shrug. “But it’s true, Mom. Muna is no longer the CEO of Scott Empire. I’ve taken over from her... I’m the new CEO.”

“That’s enough, Caleb!” she snapped, cutting him off, her throat suddenly dry. “You have no idea what you’re talking about. This obsession with revenge is consuming you—you’re delusional!”

She grabbed her purse with trembling hands, her face a mask of disbelief and panic. “I’m leaving. And don’t you dare show up at Granny’s. You might open that reckless mouth again and say all this rubbish in front of the family!”

Granny’s jaw dropped, her eyes locked on Caleb like she had just witnessed a ghost step out of his skin. The color drained from her face, and her cane trembled in her grip. Her lips curled into a bitter scowl as fury brewed behind her wrinkled eyes. Her chest rose and fell rapidly—one look at her, and it was clear: if hatred could manifest as fire, Caleb would be ash by now.She clutched the edge of the table beside her, knuckles whitening. “That boy…” she whispered, her voice raw and shaking. “If I could strangle him with my bare hands, I swear to God—”Meanwhile, Mrs. Nathan stood frozen, blinking as if trying to confirm she wasn’t dreaming. Then her face lit up like a thousand suns. Her hands flew to her mouth, barely stifling a gasp of joy.“Oh my goodness!” she breathed, trembling with disbelief. “He wasn’t lying… Caleb wasn’t lying!”She took a staggering step forward, then burst into a giddy dance, clapping her hands as her laughter filled the stunned hall. “He owns Scott Empir

"Why aren't they moving? Why are they standing like they are frozen?”“What's going on with them?”“Why are they like that?” The banquet was echoing with so many side talks. Mrs Nathan's eyes has been widened for minutes now. She was highly surprised to see this. Like the men standing like statues, not making any movements. At that same time, she was lost in the thoughts if Franco was behind it all.Isaac smiled at Franco, as if he knew Franco from anywhere but Franco doesn't know him and doesn't care as well.He matched forward to Granny whose heart was in her hands, panting like she had seen a ghost.“I am not responsible for whatever is going in your mind, Granny. Even though Muna and I are no longer together, it still doesn't stop me from attending her party. Besides, today is such a beautiful day, let's don't ruin it for ourselves!”He wanted to walk out on Granny but she held his clothes. “And what about these men? Who did this to them? You can't tell me that you don't know ho

The four officers lunged forward like rabid dogs—batons raised, boots pounding against the tiled floor.Franco didn’t flinch. His eyes sharpened, locked onto the first man. As the officer swung his baton down toward his skull, Franco sidestepped cleanly, his body moving with fluid precision. With a sudden pivot, he caught the man’s wrist mid-air and twisted it backward with a bone-crunching pop.“Arrrgh!” the officer screamed, collapsing as his baton clattered to the floor.Franco didn't give the others time to process what happened. He grabbed the baton from the ground, spun it like a blade, and slammed the butt of it into the gut of the second attacker, who had barely raised his arm to defend himself. The officer folded forward, coughing blood onto the floor. The third officer came from behind, attempting a chokehold.Franco ducked low, then slammed his elbow backward into the man’s ribs. A harsh wheeze escaped the attacker as he stumbled, but Franco wasn’t finished. He whirled arou

Franco clenched his fists tightly. He was growing more frustrated with himself. The truth was right there, hovering around him, yet he couldn’t grasp a single thread of it. He had a strong hunch that the Lioness’ Den was nothing more than a ticking disaster, but what pained him was that he couldn’t uncover the secret hidden beneath it.“What now, My Lord?” Dave’s voice cut through his thoughts. “What are we going to do now? How are we going to solve this mystery?”Franco spoke without blinking. “Just continue your investigation. I’ll carry out my own part of the plan.”He ended the call and quickly raised his phone, taking a photo of Dyesi’s car.Luckily, he captured the plate number.Instead of wasting time chasing after them, he’d go directly to the National Plate Registry (NPR) and have the plate number tracked.“Bro, what did Mr. Vale tell you? Did he say anything crucial to the case?” Michael asked, appearing just as Franco hung up.Franco turned, walking away from the property e
