Once Kael had wrapped his wounds and settled safely under the shelter of the bus stop, the rain continued to pour heavily outside, drumming against the metal roof. He leaned back against the cold concrete wall, his breath gradually steadying as the warm energy flowing from within slowly soothed the throbbing pain across his body. Before his eyes, the glowing blue system panel remained clear and steady, updating its information in real time.

As he focused his thoughts, the calm voice of the System spoke again inside his head.

“Complete part of my work?” Kael muttered, raising an eyebrow. “My motorcycle is wrecked, how am I supposed to make deliveries now?”
