CHAPTER 4
Meanwhile, tears of frustration and heartbreak formed in David's eyes, making his vision blurry as he narrowed them at Skyler. "How could you? How could you do such a thing as this to me, Skyler?" David continued, his voice breaking heavily with emotion. “After everything I did for you. After you lost your job, I made sure to provide everything you needed. Used my savings to make sure you don't lack a single thing." He paused, the tears rolling down his cheeks. "But this is how you choose to repay me? By cheating with him in our house? On our bed?” His gaze shifted, landing on Everett. His chest tightened. “And you. How dare you take advantage of her current predicament!" David bit his lips, lunged a fist, aiming at Everett's face. But before he could—- Bang! A tight, resounding slap spread across his face. The impact sent his face jolting to the side. He staggered backward, something ringing in his ears. He turned, disbelief and astonishment in his eyes. "S—Skyler? You slapped me?” He stammered, his voice hardly above a whisper. He couldn't believe his eyes. "And I'll do that over and over again if you don't stop acting like a dunce,” Skyler replied, her face twisted with disdain as she stared coldly at David, who held his right cheek in shock. Everett chuckled mockingly. Skyler stepped forward, her expression still cold. She crossed her arms, glaring at David. “Will you just stop this whole drama and live my life for good?” Her word pierced deeply, shattering David's heart into every tiny piece. David, still stunned, his cheek stinging, opened his mouth to speak….. But Skyler wasn't done. "Just live and never return, David. You disgust me each time I see you." The word dropped like a bomb, exploding David's heart, leaving no pieces untouched. “I—-I dis—disgust you?” Skyler nodded. “You think just because you're always there for me, do this and that for me, you think that automatically makes you worthy of me?” She shook her head, letting out a cold chuckle. "Have you ever wondered why I never let you get closer to me? Why I never let you touch me despite the things you do for me? That's because you irritate me. You disgusted me. But you were too blind to notice it." “Really? Why didn't you tell me then? Why let me stay?” "That's because she needed an errand boy. A pauper like you." Everett said, chirping sarcastically. Skyler tilted her head. “Everett is right. I need someone who'll always do the house chores for me and you were the perfect fit for it.” David stood there speechless, each word cutting deeper than the previous. He felt his chest burning as if it were set ablaze. When David thought that was the worst. Skyler turned, throwing herself into Everett's arms. He held her protectively, his smirk growing wide. "This is my man,” Skyler said. “The man who's allowed to touch me. Penetrate into me as much as he likes. I love Everett.” “And yeah, kid. Skyler is so sweet in bed. I enjoyed her.” Shamelessly, Skyler's lips moved, meeting Everett's. They kissed, their lips lingering longer on each other's, the kiss getting intense. David balled his hands into tight fists, resentment brimming. How could they be this shameless! "Get out of my way, you shameless things!” David pushed them aside and forced himself into the room. Skyler staggered backward, crashing to the ground. She screamed, “Ahh!" Everett lost his balance, but didn't fall. He held himself and rushed after David, blocking his path. He shot David a look, his eyes blazing with anger. “What do you think you are doing, kid? Get back!" He shoved David back. David was taken aback, but he held himself. "Out of my fucking way, you bastard.” He lunged a fist at Everett. It landed successfully at his nose, the impact heavy. Everett collapsed to the ground, shouting. "Fuck you, you son of a bitch. Fuck you!” Blood started to trickle from his nose as he touched the spot. "Damn it!” He cursed under a fast breath, still crumpled on the ground. David strode forward, yanking the wardrobe's door open, his eyes rolling faster as he angrily scanned for something. Seemingly not to find what he was looking for, David turned furiously to face Skyler who now stood nearby, her expression filled with terror. She had never seen David like this. She had always thought he was a coward. “Where are my belongings?" David asked, his voice sharp. Skyler's lips trembled as she hesitated to answer. “I said, where are my belongings? Where are they?" He barked again, anger brimming. Skyler's body shook. “I—I bu—burnt them.” “You did what? Burnt my belongings?" David's eyes flew open, chest clutching with fury. " Why?” “Because they stink." David blinked, just staring as if to calm him down, but his heart still pounded heavily against the walls of his chest. He stepped forward, making sure to cover the space between Skyler and him. Skyler shifted a bit, terrified. David's eyes were dark. "Skyler, I loved you. I gave you everything I could—everything you requested—I gave them to you. And this is how you've chosen to repay me? Cheated with another man just because he offered to give you a job. Burnt my belongings, saying they stink.” He hesitated. “Remember this day, Skyler. You'll regret treating me this way.” Without another word, David turned around and stormed out of the room, fists clenched at his sides. "You'll never amount to anything, you pathetic dunce!” Skyler shouted at David. “You are just a slumdog that'll live on crumbs all the days of his life till he returns to the grave.”Latest Chapter

Chapter 32David shook his head. “Not really," he replied. “You're not God or are you?" Hearing that, Venom Reign clutched his fist. His face tightened. He could no longer take it anymore. “How dare you….., you little brat!” He turned to one of his men and nodded. “Deal with him." His man marched forward with a bat. He was about to lunge at David, when—"Please, don't.”The man stopped, bat hanging up, rage visible. The old man left his standing spot, for the first time, after arriving here. Venom Reign’s face hardened with contempt. “Who are you? And how did you get in here?" He asked. One of his men stepped forward and bowed. "The old man seems to be a friend. We tried to stop him from coming, but he refused and followed.”Venom Reign smirked. "Hmm….I see." He nodded, finding it amusing. “One stubborn fly deciding to go to

He pulled his hand out of his pocket, eyes turning dark as he stared at the fuming man. “He’s paying nothing," he repeated, expression unreadable. His voice was absolute, carrying no hint of fear. “This old man mistakenly hit your table. He tried to apologize, but you didn't let him. You hit him hard. You disrespected him despite his age and you still want him to pay you?”David shook his head firmly. "No, that's not going to happen.”The man shot David a deadly glare. “How dare you talk to me like that?" He said with gritted teeth. “Do you know who I am? I'm Albert Watson, a multi-millionaire. No one dares me and goes unpunished." He bragged.David didn't flinch. He looked directly at Albert's face and said. “Who asked you all of that? Or are you

Chapter 27The car was still on its way, silence heavy inside when the old man eventually broke it. He looked through the rearview mirror, his grip tight against the steering wheel, and inquired curiously. “Who really are you, Sir, sorry, David?” David smiled while seated at the back. “Just a human like you." The old man shook his head sideways. "That's not what I meant.” He responded politely. "The last time I encountered you, you looked like someone without a background. I mean, you couldn't even pay me. You even attempted to give me your clothes.” A sharp pause before he continued. "How come about this?”David shifted on his seat, pretending he didn't know what the old man was talking about. "About what?”A sigh escaped. "About everything. Everything that happened back there. The influential Ava seemed to adhere to your command. In fact, you seem powerful with a strong background. Wealthy.” He looked ba
