Ben quivered from the weight of the shocks that came crashing on him.

"What he needs now is a lot of rest." Quinin pulled off his gloves and turned over to Doctor Col.

"I'm running late."

Doctor Col nodded. Quinn had already done more than enough. Doctor Nam was still dumbstruck.

The disease that had taken the life of three of the most powerful men in the city, three years ago was cured in just a blink of an eye.

"Was that the lifeblood technique?"

From the books of medicine history, it was stated that the greatest Doctors in the ancient past had developed this after the black death.

It saved the rest part of the world. This technique could control the life force of the individual in any way that they wanted.

It could work miracles. Healing incurable diseases. And just in the same way, it could only be a deadly instrument.

Director Nam's face ran over with beads of sweat.

If he could get Quinin to become a doctor in the hospital, then the name of Eastside hospital was definitely going to tear beyond the city.

But it was definitely going to be now that they had gotten off on the wrong foot. His heart tightened at the bitter revelation. However, he could not give up.

"What's that? How come I have never heard of it?" Before Ben could even finish those words, five fingers were imprinted on his face.

"Haven't you caused enough trouble already? I didn't realize that I raised you to be so dumb!"

"Doctor Quinin. I'm very sorry about that."

However, Quinin brushed past them without even sparing him a glance. Col hides his smile finely.

"Mr. Quinin. Mr. Quinin." The soothing voice of the heiress that sounded like music spelled out.

"Is there anything else? I'm hurrying off somewhere."

Even her subtle pants sounded like soft moans, smoothing to the ears.

"Thanks for saving him. He meant so much to me."

"I know. And you don't have to thank me either."

"You're so modest, Doctor Quinin. The Lincoln family isn't known for owing anyone.

I'm ready to reward you. This is the black business card. It's worth over a billion dollars and would raise you to become one of the top one hundred richest people in the city."

Eyes widened. Just by saving someone within such a short period, Quinin gets to enjoy such luxury.

Ben bites down on his tongue. He was supposed to be the one in this shoes.

"I only helped because of my uncle. You don't owe me anything!" Quinin rejected the gift without even a blink.

Everyone was shocked. Even Xerxes. Most people would jump on it. Yet, the young man was rejecting an offer to become one of the richest persons in the city.

Xerxes' interest peaked alongside something else. She could not tell whether he was just genuinely not interested or playing hard to get.

From the next offer, she was going to find out.

It was something that she had used just the thoughts of it to get a lot of people into doing her biddings. And each time, no one has ever been able to resist it, no matter how great and powerful they claimed to be.

She brought out a card and handled it at Quinin. The lights beamed brightly from it. Ben's heart dropped forward to the bottom of his feet. It was none other than the membership card of the Lincoln family.

Whoever owe it would automatically have access to everyone that was owed by the family and be recognized as a member of the family.

Ben could no longer hold his bladder. He quickly stepped forward.

"Lady Xerxes. You're giving that to the wrong person. Quinin is only here today because of my Uncle and I.

We should be the ones that should be awarded that gift instead. Besides, it's only based on beginner's luck that he was able to help out."

Xerxes expression darkened with a bitter twist.

"Seems you have lost the use of your tongue and would have me slice it off."

He quickly stepped backward, gritting his teeth with fury and disappointment, for letting such a great opportunity slip right through his fingers with nothing to do about it.

"As much as I would love to... I can't take anything from a stranger." Quinin ended.

'A stranger you say? He is playing hard to get.'

Lady Xerxes wasn't offended by these words. She only smiled brightly, something that had never happened to any other man.

"It's getting late. At least you know, would you let me drive you home?"

"That's fair. What's the way."

'I'm loving this game of hide and seek!'

She led them into the car after Quinin said goodbye to Doctor Col and they all stepped into it. Xerxes kept making proposals, a medical school, or taking him around the world while they drove, however, Quinin would not give in.

"I appreciate the effort. But I would appreciate it more if you stopped trying. Lady Xerxes." Quinin made his preposition firm.

"Men like Quinin always want something else. Something that make them feel better, different and special." The driver, personal assistant to Lady Xerxes, chipped in.

Everyone laughed apart from Quinin. His face burned bright red. He had never expected the sudden switch.

"Oh is that so? A man thing that I don't know about huh?"

The boobs of the lady seemed to push forward. The aura oozing from her was suggestive.

"I don't think that's quite the right comment to make. Seeing the fact that Xerxes boyfriend who just recovered is sitting right behind us!" Quinn emphasized, hoping this would end the charade.

The young man behind them lets out a laugh.

"You've got the wrong idea. She's my twin sister." Austin said.

"And I could use a brother-in-law!"

At that moment, Quintin knew he f**ked up. His face burned with embarrassment and Xerxes smiled.

"Oh! I see."

"If that is what you want. I definitely wouldn't mind." She said,

"I have a fiance, lady Xerxes."

For the first time, being dethroned got useful for Quinin. Hopefully, it was going to save him from being buried in this embarrassment.

We will make sure that you are compensated for your services. You have my word.” Quin nodded. “I will be on my way then.” He said calmly and ended the call before the middle-aged man could say any other word. He got ready to leave for Pinewood City, packed ev

The documents contained a list of all those Amber’s father had managed to pay. There were over fifty of them, and the amount was over five hundred thousand dollars. Quin shook his head. “Your father is quite terrible.” He said, and then he returned the documents to her. Amber sighed. “He has paid all of them, I promise you. Please come save him, I beg you.” She still had tears in her eyes, and it didn’t look like she was going to let them trickle down her face at any moment.Quin took a glance at Nam, and as soon as he saw his eyes turning toward him, he looked away.Nam was still struggling with the guilt that surged into his body, and looking at Quin’s eyes was going to make it more intense. Quin returned his gaze to Amber. “Your father is a lucky man, Amber. He is very lucky.” He growled, unable to hide the disdain in his eyes.Amber said nothing. It had just been a day since Quin went to the Minister’s residence to heal his son, but that seemed to be enough to get Elliot out of office. He received a call that sent him out of the office, and it was more confusing because he couldn’t find out who was responsible for it. The citizens of Eastside were jubilating. It appeared that it was the liberation they had been hoping for, to be set free from the hands of such a tyrant who was called the Mayor of the City. That afternoon, he was preparing to leave his office after he received the call from the President of the country. With a box in his hands, and his two guards following behind him, he sauntered along the hallway that led out of the Mayor’s office, not certain of how he was going to deal with the massive crowd outside. Quin found his way into the building and emerged in front of Elliot. “Last day in office.” He said with a smirk on his face, and then he scoffed. “I am sure you never thought that today was going to be the

Sabina took a while before she managed to respond.“He came home from the holidays and started complaining that his chest was burning up. We took him to the hospital to get him checked, but they said that he was fine and we brought him back home. A few days later, his situation became worse, and he has needed to be on oxygen since then.” Sabina sobbed again, but that didn’t stop Quin from asking the question he had in mind.“How long has he been like this?” He asked, but it looked like the Minister’s wife was still not able to get a grip on herself. Modric had to answer on her behalf. “It’s been over six months, Doctor Quin. He has been this way since the beginning of this year.” He sighed in despair the moment he turned to face his son. Quin nodded. “This is not something serious, Minister. But I have a condition before I attend to him.”“Anything, Doctor Quin! Anything at all, consider it done.” Modric said loudly, and his wife supported him with a nod. Quin sighed. “Are you sur

Quin maintained a suitable distance while he drove behind the men. He knew that the Minister must have sent for him because he needed him to cure someone if not he himself, but also needed to be very careful. They were going to be driving out of Eastside and going to the neighboring City. But it was just a thirty-minute journey, and Quin had already made up his mind that he was going to see the end of it.Eventually, they arrived at the Villa of the Minister of Defense. Quin parked at the garage just like every other person who drove into the vicinity with a car.His car was far better than the majority of the cars parked in the garage, but that was not what he had in mind.He remained inside his car while he looked around. The mansion was not just tall, it was very beautiful, and it was obvious that the interior was going to be more wonderful. The two men who had been sent to get him had already alighted from the car they had come in, and seeing that Quin had refused to come out

Quin remained standing while he stared at the men one after the other.“Do I know you?” He asked, convinced that he had never met them before. The men shook their heads one after the other. “You don’t know us, Doctor Quin. But we know you. We have heard so many good things about you.” One of the men said, staring at Quin with a smile. He expected Quin to be delighted with what he said, but since he didn’t know who they were, he didn’t know how to react to what he heard. “What do you want?” He asked, unable to hide his eagerness to leave. “We need to talk, Doctor Quin. Will you be kind enough to go with us?” The other man who had not yet spoken pleaded, but Quin said nothing.“Please, Doctor Quin.” He pleaded.“This is very urgent.” His partner added.Quin took a deep breath. “You two are yet to identify yourselves. Do you expect me to go with you wherever you want because you pleaded with me?”“Not at all, Doctor Quin. But this is very important. It is a matter of life and death.” T
