Fight Day

Henry’s eyes opened. He was in the dream space again. He wondered if this was a farewell meeting or his afterlife.

[Congratulations, System has cleared all tracks of host]

[Host is recovering from damage. Host cannot leave dream space until full recovery]

“Am I alive?”

Henry understood the system’s words, but he wanted to hear it directly.

[Host is currently at home with his family]

Henry’s cheeks twitched. He remembered a little before he blacked out. He had moved at an insane speed, heading home. But how did he enter without unlocking the password?

He couldn’t recall everything. He must have done it himself.

“How long will I stay here, and what is the time difference between here and the real world?”

[Host will recover fully in four days. There is no fixed time difference between dream space and the real world. Time flow depends on host. Dream space can move faster or slower]

Henry’s jaw slackened. So it could be faster or slower. He paused, then understood.

It was like a dream. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow, but always different from normal time.

Four days was perfect. He could train nonstop and reach C or even B rank before fighting Derek.

Henry’s lips curved slightly. He still couldn’t fully comprehend this power, but he would use it.

The only problem was timing.

“How do I know when to exit the dream space if I’m training every day?”

[System will automatically exit host when danger arises or at a specific time set by host]

“I want to set a specific time.”

[Set system clock to your exit time. System clock corresponds to real-world time]

Henry was about to respond when another message appeared.

[Host cannot set time. Recovering time; 3D. 23h. 30m. 4s]

He exhaled. At least the clock worked. It acted like an alarm.

“Okay.”

Henry cracked his fingers.

“I want to buy a booster.”

[Opening store. Store opened]

Henry’s eyes widened. He took a step back and blinked several times, but nothing changed.

[Skills Store]

He entered it. The screen expanded and split into three sections.

[Normal Skills]

[Mega Skills]

[Zone Skills]

Henry scrolled through the options, his excitement rising.

All normal skills cost the same. For just 500 coins, he could learn any skill. And there were more than thirty.

“Can I learn all of them?”

[Host can learn unlimited skills]

“Hahaha…”

Henry covered his face, barely containing his excitement.

Derek was finished.

Mages could only learn six normal skills. The highest he had ever heard was nine. But he could learn everything.

He looked at the mega and zone skills. These were rare. Most mages unlocked only a few mega skills, and usually just one zone skill tied to family heritage.

Yet there were over thirty in each category.

His excitement grew even more.

Mega skills cost 1,000 coins, and zone skills cost 2,000.

As long as he entered the academy, got his mage license, and joined a bounty team, he could hunt monsters and earn coins.

“Hahaha…”

He could already see his future.

This system was unbelievable.

He exited the skills store and entered the magic enhancement store. His mouth opened in shock at what he saw.

Everything was cheaper than expected.

He hadn’t known magical jewelry could grant skills. He thought they only boosted stats.

He decided to buy one.

“Purchase Ring of Diamonds.”

[Warning. System does not allow host to equip enhancement tools. Host may only give tools to others]

Henry froze.

Why would he buy something just to give it away?

“What kind of rule is that?”

[Host is a god. Host does not require enhancement tools. Such items tarnish host’s divine image and the system’s pride]

Henry stared blankly.

Even S-rank mages used enhancement tools. Who decided he was a god?

He exhaled sharply and dropped the argument. It was a waste of time.

“I want to purchase a 10X training booster.”

[10X training booster cost; 100 coins. Proceed?]

“Yes.”

[Training booster purchased. 10X acceleration activated. Duration; one year]

Henry immediately began training.

He barely trained for thirty minutes before another message appeared.

[Training booster expired]

Henry froze.

A year had passed?

In just thirty minutes?

He wasn’t even sure anymore.

He was about to buy another when—

[Host will exit dream space in ten minutes]

His heart skipped.

Four days were over. Tomorrow was the duel.

“Show host profile.”

[Henry Tucker

Class; C rank

Level; 5

Skills; Explosion

Physical skills; none

Mega skills; none

Zone skills; none

Road to B rank;

Push-ups; 1,000,000,000

Squats; 1,000,000,000

Jumps; 1,000,000,000

Miles trek; 2,000,000,000]

Henry nodded slowly.

He had improved, but was it enough?

Derek would also have grown stronger.

“Can the system recommend anything?”

[Host has received a special package for first monster kill]

[Offer; All physical skills for 1,000 coins]

Henry hesitated.

Coins were valuable. He had to be careful.

“Skills store.”

He bought three normal skills suited for fighting stronger opponents.

After thinking for a while, he made another decision.

“Purchase all physical skills.”

[Purchase complete]

[Activating physical skills]

[Activation failed. Host must complete specific exercise drills]

Henry’s eyes widened.

He had been tricked.

He couldn’t even use them yet.

Now he only had 400 coins left.

“Shit… this system is…”

Henry woke up.

He shot halfway upright.

His eyes moved to his wristwatch. It hadn’t changed.

Strangely, he felt relieved. If it showed his real level, the military would start asking questions.

“Brother, you’re awake.”

Henry turned. Lora was beside him.

“Where are Dad and Mom?”

Lora hesitated.

“Dad went to Mr. Dawson’s house… to plead with him.”

“Why?”

Henry stood immediately.

“Today is your fight day. Everyone has gathered at the Dawson training ground.”

His heart skipped.

The system’s four days hadn’t reset. He had woken up on the fifth day.

But it was still morning.

Good.

“Let’s go. I have to fight him.”

“Brother, you just woke up after four days. We couldn’t even take you to the—”

“It’s fine, Lora. Your big brother is okay. And don’t worry. I’m going to beat that asshole.”

He carried her along as they headed to the Dawson mansion.

He could already feel the difference in his body.

They entered the training hall.

The place was packed. People had gathered from different areas of Cherry City.

Henry wasn’t surprised. Mr. Dawson wanted a show.

Too bad his son would lose.

He helped Lora to a good seat.

Then he stepped down toward the arena.

Derek was already there, waiting.

Suddenly, a voice echoed through a microphone.

“Mr. Dawson, please. Henry is sick. He can’t make it. Give him more time—”

“There is no delay. If your son cannot appear, the land is mine.”

“Mr—”

“Silence, Tucker. Mr. Dawson is right—”

“I am here!!”

Henry’s voice thundered across the hall, silencing everyone.

Lora was shaking in her spot when Diego turned to face her. She subconsciously stepped backwards in fear, and an evil smile crept onto Diego's face.He said as he slowly approached Lora.“There is no need to step backwards, little lamb. There is nowhere you can run to that I can't run to as well. I know you are afraid of dying, but that was your fate the moment you were born as a human being. If you were born as monster, that would've been different. You would've been strong and immune to death.Your friend over there fought a good fight, but he still ended up dying.”Diego stopped approaching and continued.“Monsters do die, so you don't think am not being obvious of the hundreds of monsters that have died on this very ground, but just as hundreds of monsters have died on this floor, over a million humans have died on this ground as well.So you can see that the numbers are not worth an argument. The monsters that fell into the hands of humans are simply the ones that couldn't work

  • Our Source Of Strength!

Freezing Helen was one of them, the second was killing Helen without Helen being able to do anything. The dark blades on the sky started circling at that moment and with each passing second they were circling faster than before.“This is what true power really looks like Helen, it's not about pushing yourself back to your feet, it's about being in control of everything and never for once falling to your knees!”The moment Ava said the words. She snapped her fingers towards Helen.“You tried to attain something you are not, but are still just a human being. This is where it ends human creation!”The dark blades instantly covered Helen at that moment. Helen did freeze

To her Helen had developed into something else.Something that scattered all her ideology and calculation about humans to the ground.“There is no way I am giving up in this lifetime!”Helen coughed out a mouthful of blood as she took a different stance from the one she took when she stood up.“Water control: a million slashes!”Immediately Helen triggered the skill, the whole surroundings started experiencing a shock wave, that even Ava subconsciously stepped backwards out of fear. I refuse to accept this ending’ ‘My life can't end this way!’ Helen tried to stand up to her feet once more, but she fell to the ground again. She had been beaten to a pulp by the monster, Ava, who was standing right in front of her. ‘Shit!’ Helen cursed as her body let her down once more. She fell flat on the ground when she tried to stand up again. Her hands couldn't support her motion anymore, and her legs were vibrating inside. There was no way she would be able to walk on her feet even if she was to stand up halfway. Helen buried her face on the ground at that moment. ‘I don't accept this. I don't accept this at all.
