"Before you ask someone to watch their mouth, you better watch your mouth first. Besides, what right do you have to harass my wife like that?" asked Damian flatly. The man pulled his wife back so that Alice could sit beside him.

"Husband? Oh I see, it turns out that this is the man who made you break up with me? Ah it turns out that he is no good, after all, how could a gentle man leave his pregnant wife alone?" Galvin began to berate Damian.

Alice did not accept her husband being insulted; the woman again wanted to get up from her seat, but Damian held her hand. Damian looked at Alice with a sweet smile so that his wife could be calmer.

"You have no right to judge anything, whether I'm responsible or not. This is my family. A dumped ex like you doesn't deserve to comment." Damian folded his hands. The man also took off the army hat he had been wearing.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Am I handsome? That's right, I'm so handsome that Alice realized to leave an ugly man and a bastard like you!" Damian again groaned at Galvin's midpoint.

Actually, Alice didn't cheat on Galvin. The two just broke up because Galvin cheated on her. After a year of not having a lover, Alice only met Damian, so everything Galvin said was nonsense.

"You!" shouted Galvin, getting angrier and angrier. "You're just a poor man and also an irresponsible father, and you, Davina, be careful that the person who claims to be your father might actually have other children, and you'll definitely be in-"

"Stop that nonsense. If you want to deal with me, let's finish it manfully!" cut in Damian quickly. The man didn't want his innocent daughter to listen to Galvin's meaningless ramblings.

"A poor man like you only relies on muscles to attract Alice's sympathy and Alice you realize that your husband is very poor and he won't be able to pay for everything you have ordered," Galvin continued to babble nonsense.

Damian, who didn't want to deal with a flabby man like Galvin, immediately took out his wallet. The man also took out one of the black cards that were neatly arranged in his wallet.

"Don't be so noisy, you'd better swipe quickly and all the bills from other customers immediately enter my payment," Damian looked at Galvin with a disgusted look.

The restaurant patrons who had been watching the commotion immediately shouted happily.

"Thank you, soldier, you're very kind!" praised one of the older patrons, and Damian just nodded his head in response.

Galvin, increasingly annoyed that his love rival was superior to him, immediately used another dirty trick to bring Damian down.

"Don't get excited yet. This black card is fake." Galvin's words made everyone fall silent, even Alice, who looked at her husband for an answer.

"Damian, a poor man like you, how dare you lie with a bad card like this?" Galvin said once again.

Damian just stared at Galvin without saying anything.

His opponent, who had gone silent, made Galvin confident that the black card in his hand was really a fake. "Fake cards like this aren't worth using." Shamelessly, Galvin immediately broke the black card casually.

"You're out of line, Galvin!" shouted Alice emotionally, as she was sure her husband wouldn't lie about something like that.

"Take it easy, dear," Damian whispered softly in his wife's ear. Then, after that, the man turned his gaze towards Galvin, who was smiling proudly because he felt he had won.

"Do you know how much damage you'll have to pay if you dare to tamper with a limited edition black card that only important people have?" asked Damian in a casual tone, but his eyes were really sinister now, looking at Galvin like a sword ready to slash his opponent.

"Don't get too deep into your acting, mister. Don't you see yourself now? You don't deserve to have it." Damian's words made Galvin feel a little scared, but the man remained in his mind, believing that Damian was just a poor soldier who couldn't afford such a limited edition card.

"Whether you deserve it or not is not for you to decide and call your manager immediately," Damian replied in a casual tone, even as the man now turned his gaze towards his daughter, who was still eating the food in front of her.

The other waiters who saw the drama quickly called their manager, so the manager came over to Damian and Galvin.

"What's all the commotion about?" he asked in confusion because the restaurant didn't usually have such a commotion.

"Mr. Manager, look at this customer, he just wants to eat without paying. He's already ordered all our menus, but he wants to cheat us with this black card, luckily I quickly recognized this card as fake and-"

"Who dares to tamper with this black card?" cut in the manager with a trembling tone, picking up the black card that had been broken into 2 pieces and lay miserably on the floor.

He wanted to argue, to shout that Damian was wrong, but deep down he knew the man was right. Ace no longer lived like a human being. He was just a consciousness forced to breathe by a machine. “If we help him now,” Damian continued slowly, "they'll hunt him down again. They would take him to another facility, connect him to a larger Leviathan core. And this time, he would have no more chances to cry."Silence. The auction voices around them continued, but everything felt distant—as if the world had stopped spinning just to wait for Megan's answer. Finally, Megan closed her eyes. Her tears fell silently. A small voice came from her lips, hoarse and broken. “Let him rest. He's been fighting alone for too long.”Damian bowed his head slightly, respecting her decision. He patted Megan's shoulder gently, then turned to Robert. His gaze turned cold but sharp, like a blade ready to strike.Robert nodded slightly. From behind his jacket, he took out a mini trigger with a blue light at

But the other crowd wasn't so lucky. Some people started laughing hysterically, staring at the container with tears in their eyes, as if they were looking at the savior of the world. One woman even walked forward, kneeling down and wailing. “I'll give up my body, my life, as long as I can be a part of it!”Damian took a deep breath. “They've lost control.”Robert stared at the stage, his jaw clenched. “If this continues, we'll all die here.”Mr. R suddenly raised his hand high and the entire room immediately shook. The lights went out, leaving a single spotlight shining on the heart inside the metal container. The old machinery beneath the stage hummed softly, then roared within seconds. From the ceiling, hundreds of red cables descended like roots. The threads snatched and grabbed at the bodies of those who tried to approach the stage. They screamed, kicked, tried to break free, but the threads pierced their skin, sucking something from inside their bodies, like energy, perhaps, or l

Megan was just about to close the communicator when she heard the sound of footsteps rushing quickly from the back hallway. Madam Flower appeared, her face pale, breathing heavily, her eyes filled with anger that she could barely control.“Damian.” Her voice trembled but was sharp as a knife. "You know about those kids, right? You know they're there and you didn't say anything to me?"The room instantly felt tense again. Robert, who was standing on the right, looked at the two of them, then stepped back a little, knowing that this was not a conversation anyone else should be involved in. Megan swallowed hard. She rarely saw Madam Flower so intense—not because of fear, but because of a wound that had turned into embers.Damian slowly turned his head. His expression remained calm, too calm for someone who had just been accused of hiding something so big.“What do you mean?”Madam Flower stepped closer, her hands trembling but her eyes staring straight ahead. “Don't play dumb. The child

“You’re just buying lies,” interrupted the cold-faced masked man. “All you’ve won is synthetic fossils, not the remains of prehistoric creatures. But I,” he stepped forward, “want to offer something more real.”Mr. R smiled faintly, hiding something behind his false calm. “And do you know, sir, that ‘reality’ in this place is the most expensive thing in the world?”“That's why I came with enough money to buy everyone's lies here,” said the man flatly. The room fell silent. Only the sound of the hologram machine hummed softly in the air.Mr. R stared at him for a long time, then clapped his hands once. The stage lights changed to a deep green. The hologram screen switched to a view of the deep sea, dark blue, pitch black, with strange silhouettes moving in the darkness.“All right,” said Mr. R, his voice trembling with theatricality. “Since our guest seems thirsty for reality, I will give you something more than just scientific lies.”The image on the screen changed again. Now it showe

Madam Flower looked down with a tense expression. “What if the President finds out?” asked Madam Flower innocently, because she knew nothing about the cold war between Damian and the President.Charlie looked back at her. “That's exactly the point, Madam Flower. He wants the President to find out.”Damian slowly stood up from his chair and walked towards the stage. His steps were calm, but the air around him vibrated with an almost invisible tension.Mr. R looked at him, bowing slightly, his soft voice coming through the microphone. “Congratulations, Mr. Lark. You are now the official owner of one of the most strategic territories in the world. I hope you know how to protect it.”Damian looked directly into the masked man's eyes. “Oh, I will protect it,” he said flatly. “With the blood of anyone who tries to set foot there.”Silence. Everyone who heard it knew that tone was no joke.On the screen behind the stage, the official transaction sign appeared. Mr. R looked satisfied, but beh

Charlie stared at one of the glass boxes. There was something inside, moving faintly, like someone trying to breathe. He looked at Madam Flower with wide eyes. “Are they auctioning humans right now?” he asked in surprise, because everything seemed so bold.Madam Flower covered her mouth with her hand, stifling a sudden wave of nausea. But before she could speak, the music changed again, the piano chimes from below now echoing louder, vibrating through the marble floor and into the air.The red curtain on the stage moved.Someone walked out.The man was dressed in a perfect black suit, his face partially covered by a silver mask that revealed only one eye, cold, clear, and full of power.“Ladies and gentlemen,” his voice was deep and resonant, “welcome to tonight's final auction.”Madam Flower stiffened. Charlie gripped her wrist gently.Mr. R looked at the guests, then slowly raised his hand toward the first box. “And for our opening item is something even shadow hunters would envy,”
