Gideon was silent for a moment. He stared intently at Paul's face before him. This was their first time meeting. It seemed impossible, but they had almost convinced Gideon.

He looked back at Paul. The old man was looking at him earnestly. The look in his eyes showed conviction.

Paul took Gideon's hand and placed the black card in his hand. Then, Paul helped Gideon hold it. "Please accept this. I know you really need it. This will be very helpful."

This was completely unexpected. After so many rejections from his uncle, he now had a way out. This was even more of a miracle.

Gideon, who had previously been hesitant, now accepted it. He had even struggled to find work. And once he accepted this offer, he wouldn't have to look for work anymore. He would simply run all the Webster family businesses.

His gaze fell on the black card in his hand. "Does this really have money?"

Paul nodded. He smiled slightly. "You can check it yourself. It's all yours. You can use it for whatever you want."

"Okay." He nodded slowly. He was now gripping the black card tightly, his hands trembling slightly.

Paul crossed his legs, looking at Gideon seriously. "See me tomorrow. There are a few things you need to know more about."

Gideon nodded. "Okay. I understand." He rose from his seat.

Just as he was about to leave, one of the men approached. "Sir, I'm Justin. I'll drive you home."

Gideon shook his head. "That's not necessary. I can get home myself."

But at that moment, Paul touched his shoulder. "Just accept the offer. You'll get there faster."

Gideon sighed. He glanced at Justin and finally nodded. "Okay."

Justin invited Gideon to go first. He hadn't even noticed the luxury car parked there.

Before he could say anything, Justin opened the door and said, "Please get in, Master."

The term "Master" really bothered him. He wasn't used to it. But he ignored it, thinking that Gideon would have to get used to it. He even needed to convince himself that this time, he wasn't just any Gideon. He was Gideon Webster. The heir to the extraordinary Webster family.

Gideon walked into the car. Dian still clutched the black card tightly in her hand. "This will really help me."

Gideon scratched his head. He glanced at Justin. "Where can I get the money?"

Justin smiled, looking at Gideon through the reflection in the windshield. "Master, you can get it at the central ATM. I'll drop you off before heading to the hospital."

After a while, the car stopped. This was his first time at a central bank. He immediately got out of the car and headed to the ATM.

He hesitantly entered the ATM, his hands trembling. He began inserting the card slowly. Gideon entered the code he had been given earlier.

Without checking his balance, he immediately typed in $100,000.

The seconds ticked by very slowly. He waited for the money to come out, sweat dripping down his palms, now wet.

Gideon was completely shocked as the ATM began processing his account. Slowly, the $100,000 came out.

This was real. His hands trembled as he held the money. Previously, he had been very worried about his dire situation. Gideon had even thought he wouldn't be able to survive much longer on just his remaining $500 savings. But now, he was holding $100,000. He didn't even know how much money he had left.

Afterward, he quickly got back into the car.

Justin looked at Gideon and asked, "Did you manage to pull him out, Master?"

Gideon sat quietly. He nodded. His heart felt a little lighter. "Yes, I've done it."

Gideon sighed, calming down. He looked at Justin seriously. "I'll accept this offer. Tell Master Paul..." This time, he spoke without hesitation.

He had endured many hardships. Many companies had even turned him down, and accepting the offer to become the heir to the Webster family wasn't a bad thing. After all, it would make a difference in his life.

Justin nodded his head. A smile was evident. "I'll tell Master Paul. He'll be pleased." Then he drove back to Gideon's house.

A luxury car stopped at an old, dilapidated house. Despite this, the house still looked very well-maintained.

Justin opened the door for Gideon. "Master, please."

Gideon nodded. He wasn't used to this kind of extraordinary service. But then again, he had to force himself to get used to it.

Before Justin finally left, he looked at Gideon respectfully. “Master, you don’t need to stay here any longer.”

Gideon raised an eyebrow, surveying the house, which he considered still very presentable. “Do you want me to leave this house?”

Justin smiled faintly. “You will be Master Gideon Webster, and you will live where you belong.”

Gideon sighed. Then he nodded. “Okay, I understand.”

Before Justin finally left, the man bowed before Gideon.

Gideon entered the house. Justin’s words disturbed his thoughts again. This time he stopped in the middle of the room. He looked up, staring at the ceiling of his old house.

Gideon sighed. “Do I have to leave this house?”

His face showed no happiness. This was the house his parents had left him. It was the only warm place to remember them.

But he had accepted Paul’s offer, and he certainly didn’t want to disappoint Paul. He knew this was the only way his life could change.

The next day, Gideon woke up early. He felt hungry. He remembered that he hadn't eaten anything since yesterday.

Gideon looked at the clock. "I still have a few hours left before I meet Paulus. I'll go get something to eat."

Gideon had gotten ready. He was dressed in his best clothes, but he realized that this time they barely fit him.

Gideon frowned, feeling bigger than usual. The shirt that usually fit him perfectly now looked very strange. But Gideon ignored it. He would buy new clothes after meeting Paulus.

Gideon just walked away. He left his house and hailed a taxi.

The taxi stopped, and Gideon immediately got in. The taxi driver gave him a disdainful look. "Tell me where you're going?"

"Odette Restaurant," Gideon answered curtly.

The taxi driver stopped abruptly. The sudden brakes made a loud screeching sound. He turned his head, holding back his laughter. "Are you kidding?”

It can't be.William's frown deepened as he stared at Gideon in disbelief. He remembered who Gideon was. He probably didn't know who Handy was referring to when he so adamantly rejected the man named Gideon from being accepted into White.inc. Corp. But seeing Gideon's face right in front of him, he remembered who he was.The Gideon he recognized was his friend's son. He wasn't wrong about that, and he had more than a passing knowledge of them. He knew that his friend—Gideon's father—was poor.He had witnessed Gideon's father living in poverty and struggling so hard just to survive. It was impossible for parents like that to raise their son to such a great person; it sounded like a ridiculous and implausible fairy tale."No." He shook his head and smiled, trying to calm himself, taking Justin's words as a joke.Unlike Gideon, Justin was an important person he needed to deal with properly. She knew Justin as well as she did Gideon's background. Justin was a senior executive at White.Inc

William raised his eyebrows in surprise, but that surprise quickly turned to anger. He glared at Gideon. "This place is reserved for important people. He wouldn't be able to act arrogantly in front of William, who held power at White.Inc Corp.Sensing that Gideon's anger wasn't enough, Jolie added further spice to it, "I've already told him that, sir, but this man is arrogant and still sitting there. He truly has no sense of self."William's gaze sharpened, focused on Gideon. Jolie's words rang true because even now, Gideon was sitting cross-legged, unassumingly in front of her, who held power there. "Get your feet out of there right now!" the man said firmly. But Gideon didn't budge. He remained where he was, ignoring William's instructions."Who exactly are you, and why did you come into this place? Who gave you permission to come?" The man questione

“What?” Jolie exclaimed softly in shock, unable to believe what she had just heard. There was something different about Gideon that made her blink in surprise. Normally, he never ignored her, acted coldly toward her, or even contradicted her.The Gideon she knew was a cowardly man who obeyed whatever she said, lacking the courage to challenge or even assert his opinion in their relationship. He was someone she could easily control; everyone who knew him would agree that he was a hopeless nerd who wouldn't fight back even when bullied. But in front of her, he had just casually replied to her, sounding defiant and deeply touching her ego.Her brow furrowed deeply, her eyes glaring. “You!” Her voice choked, her emotions rising rapidly. “Are you belittling my words?!”Others might be able to look down on her, those superior to her might have reason to look down on her, though she still wouldn't accept it. The 345-meter-tall building, with dozens of stories, was beyond her reach, and her gaze furrowed in annoyance. She stared at the building for a moment, then stepped inside with a grumpy expression. She tried to dial the same number again, but just as before, she still received no answer. Her brow furrowed even deeper. "What is he doing? Is he really that busy that he can't even answer my calls?" She took a deep breath to calm herself. She was supposed to be meeting with Handy today. He had scheduled a contract signing for her today, but since this morning, he had disappeared. There was no word from him to remind her to come, making her feel neglected. She let out a sigh of relief, banishing her frustration. As she put her phone back in her bag, she walked confidently into the building. She stopped right in front of the receptionist's desk, who greeted her warmly. "Can I h
