Gideon stared at the taxi driver with a straight face. He raised an eyebrow and said, "Of course I'm not joking."

The driver turned and looked at Gideon more closely. His appearance didn't even look convincing. How could a man who looked poor even think about coming to that restaurant?

Everyone knew it was a luxury restaurant. Only the upper class could afford it. Even the cheapest meal there cost over $50,000.

This time the driver looked at Gideon very seriously. His eyes scanned every detail of Gideon's clothes. He noticed Gideon's clothes were too small, making him almost unable to hold back his laughter. He didn't know how long Gideon had been wearing those clothes.

Then, the taxi driver looked at him. "Did you come to look for work as a janitor there?"

He thought that made much more sense.

Gideon shook his head without hesitation. "I just wanted to eat there."

The taxi driver burst out laughing, thinking Gideon had gone crazy. “You’d better find out about that restaurant. Don’t you know it’s a fancy restaurant?” His expression turned sterner. “I’m not even sure you have the money to buy the cheapest drinks.”

Gideon kept a straight face. “I have the money. So just take me there.”

The taxi driver was silent for a moment. He thought Gideon was crazy. “Ah, okay, at least I warned you.” He sat back down, staring straight ahead. He stepped on the gas and drove towards the restaurant.

After a while, they arrived. The two of them stared at the restaurant.

After paying the bill, Gideon quickly got out of the taxi.

“Wait?”

The taxi driver stopped him before Gideon could close the door. The man immediately said, “You’d better think twice. The guards will definitely throw you out.” He said sarcastically.

Gideon just smirked. Without a word, he immediately closed the door.

The taxi driver snorted in annoyance. “He’s a really strange guy. Just watch, the guards will throw him out soon.”

Meanwhile, Gideon gazed at the restaurant with a delighted expression. He hadn't expected to be able to come and enjoy the food there.

Of course, he knew it was a luxury restaurant. But at least he had the black card in his hand. He would try it out at this restaurant.

Gideon walked calmly into the restaurant's courtyard, but was immediately stopped by two guards.

"Stop!"

The two guards blocked Gideon's path, staring at him with disdain. They took in Gideon's appearance with disdain. His clothes were too small and shabby.

"You can't come in!" One of them said firmly.

Gideon stared at them calmly. "Why? I just want to eat here."

"Are you kidding? Poor people like you certainly can't afford to eat here." The bass voice was very loud. "Listen, this restaurant is only for people with a lot of money."

"Go away. We will only accept people from the elite," the other guard affirmed. "Get out of here before I drag you away by force."

"I have money," Gideon emphasized.

They looked at each other and laughed together. The clothes Gideon was wearing were too small, proving that he couldn't even afford to buy clothes for himself. So how could he be eating at the most luxurious restaurant in town? It just didn't make sense.

The guard nodded. "Yes, I know you have money. But that little money won't even buy a drink here."

"Don't waste my time and don't cause a disturbance that will disturb our guests." The guard warned Gideon once again.

His hunger prevented Gideon from wasting time on small talk. He immediately pulled something from his pocket, revealing the black card he was holding.

They were shocked. They looked at each other in astonishment. Not everyone who visited this restaurant had a black card. So how did such an ordinary-looking man have one?

"Let me in," Gideon said firmly.

The surprise made them immediately nod their heads. They moved and made way for Gideon, wondering if Gideon might be a disguised man.

Gideon ignored the two of them, quickly walking in and looking for a table.

His steps didn't escape the eyes of several people who were staring at him strangely.

Gideon ignored them. He just wanted to sit down and order his food. But suddenly, someone bumped into him.

Gideon turned his head and stared at the man in front of him. The man was staring at him sharply and filled with anger. "You?"

Handy stared at him in disbelief. Noticing Gideon's disheveled appearance, he became furious. "How could security let someone like you into this restaurant?"

Handy couldn't accept this. The man didn't think Gideon deserved to be there. In fact, he felt that Gideon's presence would only tarnish the restaurant's image.

Meanwhile, Gideon simply stared at him with a blank expression. He didn't want to serve Handy, thinking it would be a waste of his time. He only came to eat.

"Let me go." Gideon was about to walk away, but Handy blocked his way.

"Don't you know this place isn't for men like you? Leave before I treat you badly and drag you out of here," Handy emphasized.

The man still couldn't accept Gideon's previous behavior. If he beat him and defeated him, he would get his revenge.

The commotion attracted the attention of everyone present. The two guards from earlier noticed and immediately approached.

"What's going on? Why is there such a commotion here?" one of the guards sternly reprimanded him.

Seeing the newly arrived guards, Handy couldn't contain himself. He immediately pointed at Gideon. "Why did you let this man in? Are you too blind to see who he is?"

“Even from his appearance, you should understand. He doesn't deserve to be here. He's just a poor man who only eats hard bread. Do you think he can afford it?” Handy tried to warn them.

One of the guards approached, “Excuse me, sir, but he has a black card. That's why we let him in.”

Handy was stunned. “Black card?” He repeated the guard in disbelief. “How can you be so stupid? How long have you worked here? How can you be so easily fooled?” Handy shouted loudly. He was utterly displeased with their perceived foolishness.

Of course, Handy couldn't believe such a thing. He thought it was impossible. He had even asked his father to contact all his business associates to consistently reject job applications in Gideon's name. He was even certain that Gideon still hadn't found any work. It was simply unbelievable that he had a black card.

He was the son of the White family, and he didn't even have one. How could poor Gideon claim to have one?

The guard shook his head. "Sir, he didn't cheat. He showed us the black card."

Once again, Handy was stunned. It was absolutely impossible.

"It could be a fake black card."

The two guards immediately stared at each other. They were speechless. They hadn't even realized it. Now, both of them were filled with annoyance. They thought Gideon had cheated them.

This time, they found Handy's words reasonable. It was highly unlikely that a man like Gideon would have a black card.

The guards immediately looked at Gideon seriously. "Show me the black card again."

Gideon stared at them coldly. Although he had thought it through, he was certainly displeased with their attitude. It was inappropriate behavior for a customer. Gideon was furious.

He reluctantly took out his black card and showed it to the guard and everyone who had gathered there.

The guard took the black card, held it up, and said, "Is anyone here working at the bank?"

One of the customers raised his hand. "I'm a manager at the bank, I can check it."

The guard immediately handed the black card to the man. He immediately examined it carefully. Then, the man looked at Gideon in awe. "This is a real black card."

Everyone there was shocked. Gideon's ordinary appearance made them doubtful. But they knew the man wasn't lying. Some people actually knew him to be the bank manager.

Handy, who was there, was also very surprised. He knew full well that Gideon was poor. "This can't be."

Gideon ignored the people who were still staring at him strangely. He took the black card back. This time, he looked at one of the waiters. He just wanted to eat in peace, so he said, "I'd like to reserve a VIP seat."

Even though the waiter had just learned of the incident, he seemed hesitant. "I'm sorry, but you have to pay a deposit to reserve a VIP room."

"No problem," Gideon answered without hesitation.

Handy grinned faintly. "I'm sure you picked that card up from the trash. It's useless." He still belittled him.

Gideon ignored him. He handed the black card to the waiter, and they began processing the payment.

Handy folded his arms. He waited, trusting that the payment would fail.

A few moments later, the waiter arrived and handed the black card back to Gideon.

Handy chuckled. "Did the payment fail? Didn't I tell you that?" He looked confident.

"The payment went through," the waiter explained. The waiter looked back at Gideon. "Sir, I'll escort you."

Handy was shocked. This was simply impossible. He watched Gideon follow the waiter to the VIP room. His chest pounded with envy. "Where did he get it?"

Gideon ignored the crowd. He simply didn't want to cause a commotion and enjoy his meal in peace. He couldn't waste any more time, as he had to meet with Paul afterward.

A few moments later, Gideon had just finished his meal. He didn't want to waste any more time and was about to head to Paul's place.

But as he was just leaving the restaurant courtyard, someone suddenly kicked him from behind. Two other men tied him up and wrapped a black cloth around his head. Then, a hard object hit him in the head.
