Chapter 6

“Sir Alatar, are you sure you want to let Adam be with us? Isn't he a threat?”

Smoke was scattered from the long smoking pipe that Alatar was smoking. He looked relaxed; his expression didn't even show that he wanted to answer questions from Malin, a magic council member who could master the four elements.

The other five members looked at each other; they were pretty riled up seeing the nonchalant Alatar. Malin represented all the members. They disagreed with Adam's presence.

"I'm sorry, Sir Alatar, but--."

"What's troubling you all?" Alatar interrupted Malin's sentence; the stocky man with brown curly hair immediately lowered his gaze.

Alatar pointed at the members of the magic council one by one with his smoking pipe; no one dared to meet Alatar's eyes.

“When you doubt Adam, you doubt my plans. Does the fear of that stupid prediction still haunt you? There will be no prophecy to happen; Adam is coming for us,” Alatar stood up and climbed onto the dining table; he spread his arms apart, and two blue and red lights appeared in the middle-aged man's hands.

The two lights were merged into one by Alatar, a purple glow with a golden coating surrounding it.

“See, how beautiful it is when two colors become one. Water and fire will create a supreme magical perfection, magilah. I am a perfect magus with water as the dominant force. I need one more person to carry out our plan and get magilah, and that person is Adam.

I can understand the anxiety you are feeling right now. As loyal followers, what's more, the two of you are perfect masters of magic; surely you don't want what we have built so far to be destroyed like that. Calm down, I am Alatar. Are you starting to doubt every step I take?”

The five members of the magic council shook their heads in unison.

"Adam is already ours; his arrival is certain because of the help of my parents, who can't wait to rise from the dead."

The shoulder-length-haired man stared at the purple light before him with a broad grin, vengeance burning in his eyes. Likewise, the five members who now dare to raise their heads and join in are stunned by the leader's figure, Alatar.

Two paintings of a seven-headed dragon and a giant hundred-headed dragon with a long burst of fire caught Adam's attention. The two works of art convey something difficult for Adam to explain, the beauty and strong aura within them.

"They are my ancestors."

Alatar appeared and stood beside Adam, his eyes twinkling at the two paintings before him.

"They look great," Adam said.

"Of course, I wouldn't be where I am today without their blood. Long ago, this world was filled with perfect beings. Typhon, Hydra, titan, and Triton all coexist in Greash. Then one person appeared who destroyed everything, causing them to attack each other and separate themselves from the Greash continent. His obsession with making Greash into a magical world that is only filled with humans is genuinely disgusting.

As a result of his actions, people with low strength appeared and slowly destroyed Greash. My father became a victim of Greash's predecessor's obsession; he and my mother, a nation of Hydra, had to separate. However, tough love does not stop them. My father put his all into getting to the Gray Valley, the outer reaches of Greash, the closest place to the Hydra world.

Their love grew there; nothing was bothered, and they lived with their world. Until finally, those stupid humans felt threatened by the closeness of my parents and committed a truly unforgivable act!”

Alatar throws fire at the wall between the two paintings. The crimson-colored flames appeared to be perpendicular and unmoving. Alatar took a deep breath, and from his body came out many small objects like red threads, reminding Adam of the release of anger from the body that Gwydion showed at that time.

"I'm sorry, it's tough for me to control my emotions when I remember their bad treatment of my parents." Alatar approached the wall and rubbed the flames that were still burning until they disappeared.

"I'm sorry about what happened to you. It must have been tough to go through.”

"Even, I don't know how to describe my feelings; I can't wait to take some revenge for them."

Adam downed the rest of the wine in his glass, then turned to Alatar and said, "So what kind of revenge do you want?"

Alatar smiled at Adam. “It is too early for you to know my plan. Take your time; I haven't even finished the story of how my parents were destroyed. Well, you should have a full rest; tomorrow, you will start going to the gray valley to train.”

"Gray Valley? Isn't that the valley you told me about where your parents lived?"

“Yes, you will train there, Adam. Prepare yourself; our journey will be one you will never forget.”

Alatar rolled one eye and walked away from Adam.
