He had a cold and emotionless stare, I felt like he would devour me. He is just about the same age or few years older than me. I quickly looked away but I noticed that his head was back on his laps. I spotted uncle Lance in a distance and I approached him. When I finally met him he asked if I had eaten and I just realized that I haven't taken anything in hours, I was so tensed that I didn't even feel hungry at all. 'Seems you made a new friend', uncle Lance said with a faint smile. I shrugged and followed uncle Lance back to one of the hall doors, I think you should go back to your room and find something to eat, just ask vMax and everything will be ready in seconds.

Once back at my room, I ordered for a cheese cake and apple juice, but I still couldn't get my mind off the guy in black. He looks really strange and he has an intimidating aura. After consuming the whole meal, I dropped the debris down the garbage chute and rested in the chamber. I had really hated school but now I actually miss school. The thick metallic door opened again and uncle Lance can be seen walking down from the tubes into my room. 'Hey look what I got you' , uncle Lance said bringing out some huge books and the strange metallic ball he had called 'intelliprobe' earlier. He dropped the book and handed the ball to my hands, I don't know how you found this, but it has been declared wanted since time immemorial but people seems not to care about it again. The reason why it was useless for anyone was that no one knows how to unlock it and it can only be unlocked by a huge surge of energy , uncle Lance explained. This made me remember the day that I was almost struck by thunder and the ball reacted to it, it would have been unlocked if there was more torrent of energy added to it. I stared carefully at the metallic ball and found out that the CS sign has turned green, uncle Lance gave me a kind of 'go ahead' look and I twisted the ball to opposite side and it opened up with a slight hiss. A beautiful looking cuff was inside and it suddenly started growing bigger and bigger and then it finally stopped. What seemed to be but a little ring was now almost twice my finger's length in diameter. It tilted to one side and was about to fall when uncle Lance grabbed it and put it into my arms. It retracted quickly and shrunk to my wrist's size. A hologram suddenly popped out of the bracelet and a green light scanned my eyes. The whole thing happened so quickly that I couldn't even react, the hologram suddenly started to speak "Hello master Dave, I am intelliprobe212 but you can call me Ip for short and I am now your new friend, I can search and bring you information from and part of the internet, hack into any known computer and tweak through any part of the internet, and gather any information you want, I can proudly say that am the king of technology" I was awed by all the features of Ip and I was glad from within. vMax will be jealous, I thought. Uncle Lance turned to the door and started leaving, he then told me that Ip should be able to help me speak with Trevor, I was happy and my eyes started soaking up with tears, I have really missed him and my mum but my mum is still recovering in the hospital so I would not be able to speak with her.

Once uncle Lance walked out on the door, I commanded Ip to call Trevor. Immediately, it asked for a more precise description of Trevor and it assured that it was ready to create connection, I waited for about some minutes because Ip kept losing and sustaining connections, it seems it was quite difficult for it to create a connection.

Apparently, it's the only technology to have ever done this before. After about a few minutes, Trevor's large head poped out of the camera as a hologram and I was terrified, I shuddered and tried to regain balance. He was quite confused and I could see his head clearly as a 3d model, no wonder the connection was difficult, even the best phones at the surface wasn't capable of creating holograms, 'Hello' Trevor said, but I was still too stunned to answer, 'who the hell would make a video call and cover the camera? , Trevor complained with a grimace, He… Hello Trevor, I stuttered, it's Dave, which Dave? He asked, still confused, it's your friend blud, am not dead. I said, "no way" , show your face dude I wanna see you he asked, pls come back man school is hell for me without you man, he added, sorry, I cant, I don't even…. Suddenly the connection got broken and Ip came out as a hologram in the shape of a robot, sorry, master Dave, the connections I created were too dangerous and a lot of things could go wrong if I kept it running, the connections made earth's internet systems susceptible to various interplanetary and intraplanetary probes. There is a high percentage that many websites will be crashed and it can expose Cs' information to the public. I will be able to make you a more secure connection in months, Ip assured with the ok 👌 sign. OK no problem I replied. One more thing master, do you want me to keep this appearance or try something else. 'IP Why not try something more human? , I asked, suddenly, Trevor's head popped out but I wasn't as scared as the last time, but I was more suprised. What about this, Ip said, but this time, with Trevor's voice, this is okay, I said. I have archived your friend's facial hologramic details "I am here if you need me" , IP said and the hologram dissappeared.

I approached the large books uncle Lance brought, I prefer calling him uncle now, because he is more of a family. I opened the books and started to read. It turns out most of the things we have been taught in high school has been a lie.

After reading for quite sometime, being an intelligent fellow, I started to understand beyond what am average college lecturer would have spent many years trying to figure out, the knowledge down here is indeed far ahead of the surface. It turns out as I read further, the more complicated it got. When I felt like I had read for about 6 to 8 hours I finally stopped and decided to continue later. I didn't even bother to ask vMax how time is counted down here. 'vMax how do I know how the time is counted here? , suddenly vmax's voice ran across the room. "I cannot provide you with a numeral that will represent a position in the void of space and time." vMax replied. So how do I know when anything is going to happen?, I asked, frustrated. "in replacement to time, dwellers of the CS HQ know the period at which things will happen intuitively because of the wonders of the diety's potion". Dave almost got knocked out by confusion. So what's the diety's potion?, he asked.

I started to get apprehensive. "Is this really Dave or an impostor?" I thought. I found an excuse to leave, so I went to a quiet place and brought out my research journal. I wanted to check if there was anything related to his communicator. Aha! I shouted within as I spotted the device. It was a new high-tech variant to Zephyr whisperer, and it's very inconspicuous. I only noticed it because I paid rapt attention to his ear. Since the device is from the CS, that means the person using it is also a CS member. I thought about it for a moment and connected some figurative dots. "There is a high chance that Dave from now is just a clone," I thought. The clone was probably a variant from the root module called the egg, the fluid mechanism that could change to any device once the code is input; it was the CS's latest tech.I snapped out of my daze and decided to find out if Dave was truly impersonated by a robot. I thought of a plan, so I put a call through to Joe. "Hello Joe, can you help

  • JOURNEY THIRTY-THREE

"Took you long enough," the skill is "TIME ECHO," HOL said as he lunged towards me. Fighting HOL had always been my greatest headache; he was too nimble and insidious. He was always a troublesome fellow to deal with.Boom!! I took the hit with my dragon legs. I went hurling backwards and almost hit my head before I regained balance. But HOL was fine, standing stalwart like a stallion. "Damn this stupid skill," I cursed silently, but not due to anger. It was because my fighting spirit had peaked. My eyes went burning with zeal; I could already feel my deified aura, and I was very sure that it was within my grasp. I exploded in HOL's direction without even waiting for the last encounter to cool down. HOL also didn't give me a moment of reprieve as he moved at a speed of about 2500 m/s. I marveled at his speed because my puny speed of about 300m/s paled in comparison to his. Due to the cave being so small, HOL reached where I was in a fraction of a second. Too fast!! I barely took two st

  • JOURNEY THIRTY-TWO

"So what's its real name?" EDEN, HOL replied. "So where is this Eden located?" I asked with piqued curiosity."No one knows," HOL explained. "Some say it's underground, while some say it's in another world entirely."I nodded as I tried to comprehend what he just said, but I ended up with more questions than answers."I think we have to find a place to camp for now so we can set out tomorrow.""There is no day and night cycle here," HOL replied. "If we walk farther, we are going to see a lighted area. There are several routes that we can pass to avoid dark areas. Also, we warriors have a nice grasp of time, so there are no qualms with the system here."I was still quite confused, though, but I was too lazy to ask questions because I would only end up with more questions. But there was a question burning in my heart that I couldn't help but ask: "So how do the plants here photosynthesis?"HOL turned to me and replied, "I know you can feel the energy radiating here. As we warriors feed

"Wait, now?" I said, clearly confused."Yes, the place only opens at night," HOL said.I quickly took permission from him so I could inform my mum. While HOL packed some of the things we needed, I ran to my mum's room and knocked on the door."You can come in," my mum said.I opened the door and met her meditating on an invisible platform she made from energy. It seemed like she was afloat, tapping energy from her energy dispenser. She was clearly healing herself."Mum, I will have to be on my way right now. I want to accompany HOL to a place that apparently only opens at night.""Hmm!" My mum heaved a sigh and said, "That means you are going to the 'expanse of warriors.' Please be careful. Make sure you don't die."I was suddenly taken aback, because whenever my mum said "don't die" that meant she noticed that danger was coming. I nodded in reply and bid her goodbye.I walked up to HOL as he was packing his stuff. I looked into his eyes and said, "Hey, you didn't tell me where we are

  • JOURNEY THIRTY (FIRST JOURNEY - EDEN)

A figure came dashing out of the shadows with an astonishing speed of over 2000m/s. Like a passing light, he ran towards Jade's uncle, picked him up by the neck, and slammed him into a nearby tree. The tree shuddered vigorously.I quickly activated Body and increased my visual range to make out the figure of the expert that came dashing in. "What!!" I exclaimed with my mouth wide open. It turned out it was HOL!!"What is he even doing here?" I thought as I examined him again to be sure it was really him. I wasn't wrong, though, but there was something different about him. I ran up to them and came just in time to see HOL showing his "KING OF COMBAT ARTS" identification card.Jade's uncle became gobsmacked as he suddenly started to kowtow several times a second. He seemed not to care about the faintly blue blood dripping out of his nose from the earlier encounter. It was a really weird sight to behold: one was a matured man in his thirties with kids, while the other was a guy in his ea

  • JOURNEY TWENTY-NINE

The three burly men were heavily smoking. When they saw us, they started moving towards us. The look of worry in Jade's eyes betrayed her thoughts. She knew them and was scared of them.It seemed those guys were bullying the old people in the neighborhood, turning it into a shadow of its former self. Many people were leaving or even refusing to come out. And if there was anything I hated to the bone, it was bullies!Suddenly, one of them, who seemed to be the one leading, spoke. "Hey, pretty girl, where's the money we asked for? Five grands, no less," he said, stretching his hands with a dirty smirk on his face. Then he looked at me and said, "Or do you want pretty boy to pay for you?"I sized them up. There was no energy pulsating from them, neither was there any strength in their cores of energy to speak of. If there was anything I learned from emotion, it was that the right choice of words deals the greatest damage. So I quickly retaliated. "Just because you came here with your leg
