Chapter Forty Four

Sophia had almost spent the whole day at the office where she was sent to have some of the papers sent. Amidst the papers was laissez-passer which would serve as their pass paper at the border into the Republic of Benin. She had stayed at the office to have everything cleared but she was still being delayed by some distorted information as a result of incomplete papers.

“Please, just do it for me,” Sophia pleaded.

“There is nothing I can do lady. There have to be evidences of some of the information fill in here. That’s all what we are asking for,” the man said.

Sophia turned and stared at the entrance in frustration. He walked out with a gloomy and wholly saddened. Bikes were outside calling on passengers. Numbers of them approached her trying to persuade her to climb theirs. She wasn’t looking at their faces after spending some minutes there outside, he took a bike back home. It was a frustrated day. She didn’t know anyone that she could call on to help her.
