Chapter 1

“If you won’t allow me to marry Johnny, I will stab myself to death!”

Chaya took a knife off the tray in the presence of her parent before Johnny raised his head in disbelief.

Logan dropped his eyeglasses and motioned Chaya to put down the knife gently.

“Don’t come near me,” Chaya said and took two steps backward.

“Oh, dear. Don’t do this to yourself. Your mama loves you,” Eliza said.

“You won’t cooperate with me, would you? If you love me, do what I said.” Chaya raised the knife above her head, waiting for her stunned parents to say yes.

Johnny dashed towards Chaya and held her hand before Logan cautiously ejected the knife.

Eliza hugged Chaya’s leg and sobbed. “Why are you scaring me, Chaya? You are free to marry anyone. Please don’t kill yourself.”

Logan let out a heavy sigh and dropped the knife back to the tray. “It’s fine. You can marry him. But I’m sure you would regret marrying a poor man.”

Logan then hurried towards his room.

“You hear that? Your father also agrees. Please don’t hurt yourself.” Eliza watched Chaya hugs Johnny with tears dripping from her eyes.

Eliza took the knife off the tray and hurried out of the sitting room, wondering about her daughter's weird behavior.

“Thank you for stopping me,” Chaya said to Johnny.

“I don’t deserve this, and I don’t expect our relationship to reach this point. Honestly, people would disgrace you if they see you with me. I’m a poor man with just only my dream,” Johnny said, staring into Chaya’s crimson eyes.

“It’s okay as long as I’m your dream.” Chaya kissed Johnny and wept on his neck without caring about his smell.

Little did Chaya know Johnny was beyond who she thought he was. He was the heir of the Esposito, the wealthiest man in Florida, USA.

Thirteen years ago, everyone was startled when they learned Esposito died of a heart attack. Valentina didn't believe her husband had died of a heart attack because Esposito had shown her his good x-ray results before the incident happened.

The x-ray wasn’t there to be found, for someone had stolen it with Esposito’s expensive boxes of silver, diamond, and gold on that day. And the person was Lucas, the Esposito's brother.

Lucas murdered Esposito with the help of his friends and Esposito’s security men. He bribed Doctor Richard and bribed the reporters to report the wrong news.

Lucas then escaped from being suspected or caught, but he can’t escape from the eyes that saw him from under the bed and from the ears that heard his voice.

Johnny Esposito was the living witness.

Even in Johnny’s somniloquy from his deep sleep, he can tell how his father died. It happened after he entered his father’s room to take money for the poor, and then he heard strange wicked talks coming from the corridor.

He had to do something; he had to hide under the bed to prevent them from slaughtering him.

That same day, Johnny followed Kai to Georgetown after they knew Lucas wanted to kill Johnny because Johnny was the only heir.

Kai was the only security man Johnny trusted among his father’s security men. And Johnny followed Kai without informing his mother, which makes Valentina think her son had been murdered secretly, too.

Seeking revenge for his mother's tears, Johnny went back to Florida to make her happy and reclaim his rightful inheritance.

During his decade in Georgetown, Johnny learned martial arts and astrology from Kai's grandfather. He must use these skills to avenge and protect himself in secret, following Kai's instructions to keep his face concealed.

There’s one last rule Kai gave Johnny after Kai got a house-boy job for him at Logan’s mansion. Johnny must not love. Kai explained further that if Johnny fall in love, he would fail his mission, and his loved one might later bathe in blood.

Here is Johnny, entwined in the embrace of Chaya, a lover girl and the girl he was trying hard not to fall in love with.

Quickly, Johnny took a step away from Chaya as Logan walked in.

“I got something for you, Chaya.” Logan dropped an envelope on the floor.

Chaya picked up the envelope and found some money there.

Logan raised his voice. “You are no longer my daughter. I don’t allow you to take anything with you except your riffraff husband. Don’t even take any cloth. Don’t touch my car. Just walk out of my house now.”

“Logan?! You want to do this?!” Eliza hurried in and knelt before Logan. “For God's sake, don’t disown my Chaya. She has no one to help her. Please, darling, she has nowhere to go.”

“She can go to hell, then. Yes, a stubborn and disobedient bastard like her deserves hell.

“Nicholas was only my legitimate son and the heir of everything I am controlling. Your Chaya or whatever must not step into this house again. I will also inform Dad about her stubbornness. I’m sure he would support my action.”

Eliza looked at Johnny. “Are you happy he wants to disown my Chaya? Can’t you beg him?”

Johnny was about to kowtow before Logan when Chaya stopped him and said,

“Let’s go anywhere. I will be fine as long as am with you.”

Logan slapped Chaya. “Never come to my house again!”

“I will go.” Chaya couldn't force his tears from reaching the brim. “I will never come back. I already know you hate me from the beginning. You don’t hate me because I disobey you. You hate me because I’m a girl. It’s Nicholas you loved. He always disobeys you, but you still treat him nice. I don’t care to care about why I don’t care!”

Logan grabbed a stool and was about to slam it on Chaya’s head when Johnny pulled the stool from his hand, threw it to the wall. Johnny then grabbed Chaya’s hand, leading her out.

Eliza sat on the floor in sorrow while Logan was kicking everything in the sitting room.

“My daughter betrayed me because of bullshit. They shall pay for this. Especially that riffraff. He dares to steal my daughter’s heart. I will teach him this life is not a walk in the park!” Logan threw a stool on the TV.
