One thing that Daemon didn’t lie about is the time limit. As soon as thirty minutes pass, the thing that’s stopping any signal and electricity from running in that building will stop. This limitation isn’t, by any means, the fault of Daemon’s ally, Cypher. No. In fact, Cypher can extend this hacking for as long as half a day’s worth of time.

However, there are various reasons why they didn’t do this. The first is because, anything longer than thirty minutes will get the attention of the authority that handles the school. Inevitably, this will lead to the signal being traced back to the source. Meaning that Cypher would be found out and, Daemon can’t have something like this happening.

The second is because, Daemon doesn’t actually need this much time. Not at all. Thirty minutes is more than enough for what he needs to happen. That is, to kill every member of Derek’s team – all five of them. Daemon didn’t show any mercy to these guys. Or perhaps he actually did.
