Combat (V)

The monster bird glared at the group of hunters, pain and anger in its stare. Its gaze was particularly fixed on Lukas. If it weren’t for his ruthless attack on its right eye, then it wouldn’t have been badly injured by the attacks launched on it.

The monster instantly recognized the largest threat in the team from that single attack. It knew it had to kill Lukas as soon as possible; otherwise its chances of winning the fight would be reduced drastically. The silver haired hunter might not look it, but he was extremely dangerous.

Lukas noticed the change in the monster’s gaze almost immediately and frowned. The monster had picked him as a priority target which meant that most of the attacks would be directed at him.

Unknown to the monster, this change mattered little to Lukas. There was no way they were leaving the dungeon without killing the monster, so they needed to kill it, regardless of what the monster thought. Making Lukas a priority target didn’t change that fact.
