Logan whistled as he walked out of the hospital, feeling rather elated.

Finally, he managed to teach that idiot a lesson. He was sure he was never going to know he was the cause of all that had happened to him, and that made him feel even better.

As for the matter of the medical plan, he wasn't sure if he would be able to do anything about it. He would have no other choice but to come up with a new one.

Well, this shouldn't pose any problems to him now, right? He had ancient medical knowledge, and his skills could be rivaled by none.

As long as he practiced enough, it was only a matter of time before he would rise to the top. Thinking about this, Logan took in a deep breath and pushed the matter to the back of his mind.

First, he had to get home to his mother and see how she was doing. Then, he would plan what the next thing was.

“Isn't there anyone who knows how to swim here?” a loud yell came, pulling Logan back to his senses.

“Someone please help, or he will drown!” the voice yelled again, and Logan turned in the direction of the voice.

At the other side of the road, a crowd was gathered, pointing and watching something.

A young woman stood at the center of the crowd, yelling, asking if there was anyone who knew how to swim.

Seeing this, Logan frowned slightly and moved closer to the crowd. Getting there, he froze slightly at the sight before him.

Just right beneath was a flowing river. Splashes were seen; a small figure struggled to swim, but to no avail. At a glance, one could tell the figure couldn't swim.

No matter how much he struggled, he kept drinking the water in big mouthful gulps, and it was evident he would drown soon.

“Someone please help!” the young woman screamed again, her eyes darting amongst the crowd, panic written all over them.

But no one dared to step forward; it was as though they were all afraid of something.

“I think it would be best if you just go ahead and prepare for his funeral!” one of the onlookers muttered, and the rest nodded, all agreeing with themselves.

“Even if he's able to hold on for someone to come rescue him, the crocodiles in the water wouldn't wait for him,” another person added, and the rest nodded.

“Just pray his body doesn't get eaten, but I don't think he would be able to survive it!”

“Yes, you should go and prepare for his funeral!”

Hearing the conversation, the woman's expression changed, panic written all over her face. As she shivered, her legs shook.

Logan's expression also changed. From the looks of it, the figure was a little boy. As for how the boy had fallen into the river, he couldn't care less about that.

Also, the boy seemed to be losing his grip and was already drowning. Even if the crocodiles didn't get to him, he wasn't going to make it before help came.

Thinking about this, Logan moved closer to the river and, without a second thought, dived in.

“Hey, what are you doing?”

“Even if you know how to swim, you might not be able to save the boy!”

The onlookers yelled from behind, but all went past Logan as he had already dived into the river.

Swimming as fast as he could, Logan soon reached the little boy, who had already fainted due to the large amount of water he ingested.

Without a word, Logan grabbed the boy and swam back to the bank of the river.

Pulling the boy, who was only about ten years old, out of the river, Logan quickly laid the boy on the floor, then pressed gently on the boy’s chest.

“Cough!”

Soon enough, the boy coughed out water, waking up almost instantly.

“Yay!”

At the same time, cheers erupted from the crowd as they clapped.

“Edwin!”

The young woman also ran forward, quickly hugging the little boy.

Vroom!

Rows of cars suddenly arrived at the scene. Men dressed in black suits rushed out of the cars, followed by an old man with a walking stick, hurrying over.

Seeing this, the crowd hurriedly made way, not daring to say a word.

“Scarlett,” the old man called as he rushed towards the young woman, panic written all over his face.

“Father,” the lady called and quickly stood up, rushing towards the old man and hugging him, bursting into tears in his arms.

“Father... father, I'm... I'm sorry, I nearly let Edwin die...” Scarlett sobbed as she managed to say.

“It's fine, Scarlett; at least he's fine now,” the old man muttered gently, patting the lady's back.

“Yes, Father, someone stepped in and rescued him at the last minute,” Scarlett nodded, raising her head and turning to Logan’s direction.

“Escort her to the car,” the old man commanded, then walked towards Logan.

“Young man, thank you for saving my grandson; please accept my bow,” the old man said, bowing low to Logan the moment he got to him.

“There's no need for that; I just couldn't stand and watch him drown,” Logan panicked, seeing this, and quickly helped the old man up.

“To thank you properly, here's five million dollars; please accept it from me,” the old man didn't give up and immediately pulled out a bank card from his breast pocket, offering it to Logan.

“There's no need for that. I didn't save him 'cause of the money, so it's fine,” Logan shook his head, rejecting the bank card.

At the moment, the crowd's faces were green with envy. Who in their right minds would reject this?

The old man frowned slightly, observing Logan. The latter seemed to be cheaply dressed, yet he didn't accept the money from him.

Could it be that he wanted more?

After all, he knew how wicked the heart of the human was. As the patriarch of a powerful family, he had seen the ills of the world, so he assumed Logan wasn't satisfied and wanted more.

Thinking like this, he placed his hands into his pockets and brought out another card.

“Young man, here's another card; it contains ten million. With this card, that's fifteen million. Please accept it as a token of appreciation from me!” the old man offered, his words sounding like a clap of thunder in the ears of the onlookers.

(The next day)Logan yawned as he woke up. Stretching his body, he glanced at the time and froze."Shit, I'll be late!" he screamed, jumping out of bed and running into the bathroom to take a bath.Soon enough, he was done. Wearing a set of new clothes and grabbing the card on the table, he dashed out of the house.Yesterday, after taking the card from Bruce, he had gone to check the balance and nearly forgot how to breathe.Bruce had given him thirty million. Could the old man be planning something? He had rejected the first fifteen million; now, the old man had forced another thirty million on him.Well, that was all good. With the money, he would be able to buy the materials needed to upgrade his physique.Currently, his goal was not to have a heaven-defying physique; rather, it was to have a normal one.Once he had one, he would think about upgrading it.As for his cultivation, there were a whole lot of things he needed to do. Well, that would come later.First, he needed to make

  • Heaven and Earth Devouring Scripture

Logan's eyes shot open, and he looked around with a smile on his face. This place was just perfect. He would begin now.It turned out the solution he had found just now was a cultivation technique called Heaven and Earth Devouring Scripture. It allowed the user to absorb any kind of energy and then convert it into pure Qi for their own use.The villa and the items all had a huge density of evil energy and curses around. All he needed to do was abandon the previous technique he was using and start using this one. This one was even way stronger than the one he had chosen. According to his memories, it was the top one and a forbidden technique.Because of its nature, even if trash like him got their hands on it, they would become an immortal in no time. Now, what if a genius with a perfect physique got their hands on it?Another bizarre thing was that it worked well with any kind of physique, regardless.According to what he remembered, it was created by a genius who was annoyed by the s

  • Problem

Logan and the other guard, on the other hand, walked towards the back of the villa. The guard shook, feeling his soul tremble as the chilly wind bit his skin. But all of a sudden, a warm energy radiated within, canceling it out.Apart from that, the lights in the surroundings flickered constantly, and strange sounds came from all directions. This alone was enough to terrify someone. But somehow, not only did he not feel scared, he felt a bit confident, though he knew deep down he could hear his instincts telling him to run."Alright, it's okay here," Logan suddenly spoke, his voice pulling the guard out of his thoughts."Drop those junks here," Logan continued, pointing at a spot. The guard froze, his eyes nearly bulging out of his sockets. What the heck was he calling junks? Every single thing he was holding cost at least a million. Most of them were rare antiques the old man had collected himself. The others were for the young lady, as she loved collecting small items like figurines

  • Talisman

Hearing this, Bruce's expression brightened, and he quickly explained the situation.Hearing this, Logan frowned slightly, shaking his head. It seemed like whatever the other party wanted, they couldn't wait anymore."Alright, first, let's start with your daughter and grandson," Logan stated, pushing open the doors of the villa.Though the curse was more important, treating Scarlett and Edwin would be far better. Both of them had been injured, and if he wanted to deal with the curse first, it would take some time.Though he would be able to treat them afterwards even if their best treatment window had passed, what if they died before then? The curse's aim was to kill, so it was better to treat them first."Treat Scarlett and Edwin?" Bruce froze, hearing Logan's words."Yes, of course," Logan nodded, glancing at the old man."Or don't you want them treated?" He raised his brows."I...""Here..." Logan couldn't be bothered to argue with the old man and threw him his ID.Seeing it, Bruce

  • The Curse

Logan, on the other hand, also couldn't care less. He had a whole lot of other things he had to do. There was no way he would care about someone, especially since the other party didn't seem to believe him. Also, there was no need to fume over it.Pushing all of these to the back of his mind, Logan stopped a cab and headed back home.In no time, hours passed, and soon, the sun set. Darkness crept in like the thief it was, stealing away the remaining rays of light and plunging everything into darkness.Logan, on the other hand, stretched his body as he walked out of the house. After getting back today, he searched his memories and chose a formidable cultivation technique to practice.Without it, he wouldn't be able to use other talismans, and even using low-level talismans would become difficult over time. There were other benefits to cultivation. It was not just for activating or drawing talismans. In fact, if one cultivated just to be able to draw talismans, they would be undermining

  • Remove That Bracelet

“Huh!”The crowd froze hearing this as they couldn't believe their ears.Fifteen million for saving a boy? If they knew this, they would have jumped into the river earlier without any hesitation. After all, in the entire Roseville, only a few families would be able to pull out such a large amount of money.“I'm sorry, old man, but that goes against my principles,” Logan's voice came, pulling everyone out of their thoughts. But at the moment, Logan’s voice sounded like a clap of lightning to their ears, and they couldn't help but glance at him rather incredulously. What the heck was the young man thinking? Rejecting fifteen million? If it were not for the guards present, they wanted to rush forward and beat the heck out of him.The old man also frowned slightly, observing Logan, who had a gentle smile.“I...”“If you're thinking about adding to the amount, then you should just discard it. No matter how much you offer, I won't be accepting it,” Logan shook his head, interrupting the old
