Chapter 8. Unlucky day!

“How can he still be alive?”

Li Wei feeling anxious. Jian Zhang’s presence would definitely ruin her plans.

“Calm down, Your Highness,” said Li Wei’s trusted maid, Qiu Fa.

Li Wei still couldn’t calm down. Genji is beyond hope. And the second son, Wen Zhang, was not too dependable at all.

Her second son’s reputation was too bad. He was always getting into trouble with cases of abuse against women.

What must Li Wei do to maintain her plan?

“We only have one hope, Your Majesty.” Feng Chai spoke up. He is the minister who supports Li Wei.

“We have to change Young Master Wen’s reputation in order to nominate him as Crown Prince.”

Li Wei agreed, but how to tame her wild son? There was no other way. Li Wei had to force her second son to become the crown prince or all her dreams would be gone before they came true.

"Your Highness need not worry about that. Let me take care of the second Prince's matters."

“What if he brings trouble?” Li Wei looked at Feng Chai.

In the forbidden forest, south of Night Flower town.

Jian Zhang jumped from one tree to another, hunting for the mystical snake, which was bigger than Jian Zhang’s body.

The monster’s snake hissed. Its head raised in an intimidating manner towards Jian Zhang.

But Jian Zhang who was already starving directly hit the snake’s body with one punch. A powerful punch that tore the snake’s body apart into a large hole.

Black blood spurted out from the snake’s body, Jian Zhang unhesitatingly gulped down the snake’s blood. His hunger can only be satisfied with the blood of mystical beasts.

“Who are you?!” The booming sound that chased away the crows made Jian Zhang turn his head towards the source of the sound.

A man pointed a crossbow at Jian Zhang. His hardened face was clearly visible because of the bright moonlight.

‘Ah, shit!’ Jian Zhang cursed inwardly. He recognized the man’s face.

“Who are you?” the man walked closer glancing at the dead mythical beast with a large hole in the body.

How could such a powerful animal be destroyed like that? Only chosen humans or demons can do this. And was that man a human or a demon? He needed to make sure of that.

The young man walking behind was the holy priest, his name was Xian Wu. Meanwhile the man in front of him was his uncle, Cheng Wu, a war commander in the Zhang kingdom. the most feared figure because of his strength that has reach level 6, the highest level in the country of Zhang kingdom.

Jian Zhang chuckled. He turned his back to Cheng Wu, thinking quickly. Until the only way is to run away. If Cheng Wu knew he was a demon, it was certain he would kill without a second thought.

“I think you understand what I’m saying, so answer quickly before this bow shoots you in the head!” he threatened.

In the past few days, Cheng Wu often encountered demons that entered the royal territory, so he finally made a patrol near the forbidden forest. But for this one, he felt strange. No demons prey on mystical beasts. The demons are only like fresh human blood.

Jian Zhang spun his body in slow motion, his hand picking up some of the snake’s flesh. And the moment he came face to face with Cheng Wu, Jian Zhang immediately threw the bloody flesh in Cheng Wu’s face.

“Uncle!” Xian Wu shouted worriedly. Meanwhile, Jian Zhang used this opportunity to escape.

“Chase that shit, demon!” Xian Wu ordered his men.

Three men with level 3 martial power chased after their target.

Jian Zhang ran as fast as lightning. He was deeper and deeper into the forest, where no one dared to cross the line. Not even a level 3 martial arts expert was allowed to enter the forest.

The three men froze in an instant. They didn’t dare step into the forbidden forest that gave off a terrifying dark aura.

“What should we do?” he asked his friend.

The two friends fell silent. They couldn’t break the rules.

“We’d better get back. It’s quite dangerous to be here!”

They agreed. When they turned around, one of them found a dragon jade.

Dragon jade that only members of the royal family have.

“We have to give this to Commander Cheng Wu!”

Royal palace, all ministers gathered to discuss the demands of Jian Zhang.

“We’d better give Jian Zhang what he wants,” said minister Shen. “I’m afraid, if this gets out around the emperor, giving an unfit place for the Empress. The reputation of the kingdom will definitely be down. We must also remember that empress Xue Fen was from the Fen kingdom.”

Perhaps everyone had forgotten Empress Xue Fen’s identity. She was the princess of the Fen kingdom, a kingdom that the Zhang empire had defeated. Because of an agreement, the two kingdoms united through marriage.

However, all that the Empress got was humiliation and injustice. Her status might be empress, but no one would think of her as empress.

“Do you want the prisoner to have the best place?!” Minister Bai quipped.

“Watch your tongue, minister Bai!” Minister Fengying Qiao warned. “If the Fen kingdom finds out about this, then we should be prepared to take all the risks. I guess it seems you really want war like the old days.”

It has been decades since the war between the two kingdoms has stopped, if it comes to war only because of one uneducated mouth.

Wouldn’t that be very detrimental to the Zhang empire?

Gao Zhang, who was sitting in his royal seat, rubbed his aching head. Why did his son who should have died come back?

“I hope your majesty will think this over carefully,” minister Fengying suggested.

The meeting suddenly ended.

Jian Zhang who entered the kingdom in secret had to clean his body full of blood near his father’s favorite lake. The black blood that polluted the lake made the fish living in the lake die instantly. But Jian Zhang didn’t seem to care at all. After cleaning his body, he stepped carefully. Jump over the two meter high fence then walk on the roof.

“Stop!” The sound of a man’s scream finally stopped his steps. Jian Zhang sighed.

Why was he so unlucky today?!
