Chapter 24

“Good morning,” Eduard said in a formal tone.

“Good morning, sir,” Abby and Ryan said at the same time.

Abby couldn’t help but feel nervous as she faced Eduard. She bowed her head. She couldn’t look him in the eyes.

“Hi, Abby. How are you?”

Abby quickly raised her head.

“Hi, S— sir,” she mumbled. Her voice almost couldn’t be heard.

“Ryan, please do the orientation to Abby,” he said and then he went into his office without giving her another look.

“Abby, are you okay?” Ryan asked as soon as Eduard was gone.

“Y— yes,” she said as she nodded her head.

“Are you sure? You look like you are not. You are so pale,” he said.

“I am so sorry, Ryan. I am just really afraid. Do you know why I am the one who has been chosen?”

“Well, I think the CEO just likes to work with you, why?”

“I am afraid that he might make things hard for me because of our previous encounter.”
