Chapter 6 - The Mighty gets Mightier

“Nathan Ford!”

“Nathan Ford?”

Everyone who knew his history was terrified, some believed he was dead.

“He is alive?”

“He was disgraced as a drug dealer”

“Elena’s ex is at her engagement party, juicy!”

“He is the only King of War the US had, he is history”

And many comments were just around the scene but Nathan replied calmly.

“Disgraced? Dead? That’s the bedtime story you were told but I can personally correct that” Nathan said as he stared at Uyors steadily who tried to keep a neutral face but was shocked beneath his understanding.

‘How did Nathan fucking Fords become a chairman?’ was the question Uyors couldn't answer in his mind.

He took two steps closer in Uyors’ direction but Damien sneered and rushed closer to Nathan.

“How dare you crash my engagement, hiding behind masks? I must report to the actual NFT Chairman because you are an imposter” Damien yelled furiously but Nathan gave him a death stare and said;

“For three years, you’ve all whispered about NFT- Nathan Ford’s Tech, a faceless empire shaking this country. I am the chairman you’ve been drooling for, every contract and project you begged for, passed through my hands” 

The crowd gasps as Mr Pearson's face almost lost color and Elena’s hands trembled. The man she left because she didn't want social stains will stain her socially today!

“Face me, Ford, without your men,” Damien said as he yanked off his blazer and threw it aside.

“Damien, no” Elena panicked, if this was really Nate then Damien might be dragged out on an emergency hospital stretcher. 

Nathan turned in the 3 O'clock direction and blocked the punch. His hazel eyes hardened and he said to Damien “You’re just a spoilt boy playing war.” 

Damien snarled and signaled his father’s soldiers to attack and the crowd screamed. Nathan’s men didn’t flinch, they just tapped devices on their wrists and scrambled their comms. These soldiers aren't worth combat, Uyors wasn't leading them in unique techniques.

“He’s jamming their systems,” someone from the crowd said, surprised.

“I’m definitely getting a device from the NFT Limited” another man from the crowd said as everyone was amazed at the advanced technology.

NFT’s security disarmed Uyors’ army, humiliating them effortlessly. There are gasps and applause from the crowd. Nathan moves very swiftly and punches Damien’s ribs, his nose, and his ribs again, with no chance for Damien to retaliate. The combat techniques didn’t leave him at all.

Nate held him by the collar and said precisely with an icy voice, loud enough to still the room “Consider this mercy, the next time you raise a hand, I won’t stop at broken ribs”

Mr Pearson forced a laugh finally and said “Nathan this is absurd, I am sure we can talk”

“Absurd? The only absurd thing is that a man like you thought I would jump into the grave you dug. You thought you could erase me with lies and poison”

Nate said, his voice huskier as Pearson stared in shock, with his eyes wide open.

“Well, here I am, wealthier than your fortune, stronger than your alliances and far beyond your reach” Nathan said as his face showed that he spoke from a place of pain.

Kelvin chuckled as he took a few steps closer to Nate.

“Our soldiers lack proper tactics, imagine we were faced with real-life danger, they would all die, the young soldiers obviously do not have a competent leader,” Kel said 

No one dared say this hard truth on the streets of the US! But Nate and Kelvin didn't mind because Uyors was destroying the future and skills of these young soldiers.

“Who are you to evaluate my job?!” Uyors rose to his feet furious! He could not take it anymore. “I will not allow you veterans and thieves to ruin what we worked hard to build here,” he said, trying so hard to maintain his composure.

Nathan laughed sarcastically and said, “Grandpa Uyors, a four-star general and acting Secretary of Defense says he works hard to teach the soldiers how to fail, take a look at them!” Nate waved his hands in the direction where the soldiers were disarmed in minutes.

General Uyors rose to his feet and laughed, he tried to hide the fear in him about this unveiling.

“Ex-convict! Are you here to beg for mercy? To join the army after doing drugs! You insolent…” 

“Sit down Uyors,” Nathan said coldly commanding the old man, who obeyed without even knowing when he did. 

“You have killed people and ruined soldiers but you couldn’t kill me. Now every secret you buried will be unearthed!” 

Tension explodes as guests murmur in fear. Elena stares at Nathan who didn’t spare her a glance. She was heart broken but she searched her tear glands to cry and none dropped.

She remembered that she wished to see him today but not like this. This Nate had a different powerful aura than the calm Nate she knew. Nevertheless, she thought him a better man than Damien who lacked courage or zeal to do anything.

Nathan signaled Kelvin as they made their exit as the ballroom erupts in chaos. Uyors is trembling in rage.

He imagined his next meeting with Nathan Ford to be one where he shot him in the chest and buried him as he bled out.

He was already planning with Pearson to get rid of NFT Chairman only to find out that the face behind the mask was Nathan, his enemy from day one.

“The Uyors were destroyed in their own den” Reporters were scrambling the interesting pieces of information together. Uyors roars in rage, even the late secretary of defense never humiliated him. 

Cameras flashed around to get as much information as possible.

Elena felt depression wasn't far from her and her dad went to hug her, taking her to their car to head home. The damage was irreversible, and the engagement was scattered in front of Washington’s elites. 

The broken engagement was not Elena’s problem, she would have been the wife of NFT Limited if she had stood by the love of her life instead he didn’t even act like she ever existed.
