Keeping Distance

Today is the day Ernest can return home. He's really want it when in the hospital since the beginning. However, due to the assistance of Hellen next to him, Ernest was eager to recover quickly. Of course, many tasks were abandoned and many things he had to do.

"Ah.. Finally we can go home too," said Hellen while folding Ernest's clothes into his bag.

"Thank you, Hellen. You've taken good care of me so far. Ah, I want to marry you soon," said Ernest, who made Hellen laugh.

"Then marry me!" cried Hellen, jokingly.

"I'll do that as soon as I can! " Ernest said with a confident look.

Ernest and Hellen looked happy that day. Eventually, Ernest was able to get out of the hospital, which left him unable to do anything.

"Ernest, do we need to contact your father about this? He seems to be happy when he knows you can come out today," asked Hellen.

"No need, Hellen. Just take me home. I have something to teach you, both for me and for himself," said Ernest.

"All right, then come on!" asked Hellen as she reached out his hand.

Ernest looked at his arm for a moment. He then smiled and held the arm happily. For some reason, he felt safe near Hellen. As if, he found a mother figure in the girl.

After taking care of various administrations, Ernest finally managed to get out of the hospital. They're now on their way home to Ernest's. On the way, suddenly Hellen asks her a surprising question.

"Ah, Ernest! I remembered about the job offer at your restaurant the other day. Does that still apply to me? I think I need it now," said Hellen suddenly making Ernest swallow his salivary with difficulty. Shit, it looks like he was wrong about that time!

"Ah, for that! I don't think I need an extra worker right now. But, I promise I'll give you a much better job than that. How? No problem, right? I don't mean giving you false hope, it's just that for now the part I offered you when it was filled. But, I promise I'll find a place far more worthy than my restaurant soon enough!" said Ernest convincing Hellen.

"Ah, like that... well, I understand. I'm sorry, yes, I'm impressed to pressure you," Hellen said.

"It's not like that, Hellen. Take it easy, about finances I'm ready to help you whenever you want. You... belong to me, right? So, what do you need to talk to me. I'll try that, including your new job!" Ernest said making Hellen smile.

"All right, I get it. I trust you for everything ," Hellen said confidently.

They arrived shortly afterwards at Ernest's house. Ernest's father was surprised, of course, by the sudden return of his only child.

"Oh, my God! My son! Why are you allowed to go home and not tell me?! Are you really well?" Lewis asked, surprised by Ernest's arrival who just got out of the car with Hellen.

"I was allowed to go home. Since you didn't come back to visit me in the hospital, I chose to go home without telling you, I thought you didn't care about such a trifle," Ernest said casually.

"Hey, what do you think, young man! Why can you think like that? Well, forgive me for being busy and not being next to you. Hellen, thank you for taking good care of it. Come in, I'll make you good food and a cup of warm tea," Lewis asked, but suddenly Ernest's statement surprised himself.

"I won't be long, Dad. I'll just bring my stuff," Ernest replied, make Lewis in shock.

"Packing up your stuff? Where are you going?! " Lewis asked not to believe it.

"I decided to split up with you. I wanted to live independently. Didn't I grow up, Dad? There's no problem, but I hope you understand," Ernest said, making Lewis not believe.

"Do you really hate father and never accept father, Ernest? What are you doing? Do you have the heart to let your parents live alone while you are the only treasure I have?" Lewis asked.

"I didn't go far, Dad. I just wanted to be able to live alone because soon I will definitely have a family with Hellen. Don't worry, either Hellen or I will visit you often here, why are you so scared?" asked Ernest again trying to appeal to his honesty.

"Ah, like that, forgive Ernest's father. I got carried away in panic because you suddenly came home and wanted to leave me. We'll talk about everything inside, okay? You must have not eaten yet, let's eat first and we'll talk together!" Lewis tried to distract himself.

And they come into it. Of course, Ernest went to his room to pick up his things. While Lewis prepared warm tea to serve to Hellen.

Lewis sighed and looked at Hellen, "Has he really planned this before, Hellen? I was very surprised by his decision," Lewis said while looking at Ernest who seemed busy looking for his things.

"It seems that way, I also don't know when he planned it. But, is it a bad decision? I think it's a good decision because Ernest is an adult, sir," said Hellen giving advice.

"Yes, my son is very mature even. He loves a girl who even look like his mother," Lewis said with a smile to Hellen.

"All right, what shall we talk about again?" asked Ernest suddenly sitting before Lewis with neat things in his bag and suitcase.

"Where are you going? Is that a place so far away?" Lewis asked curiously.

"I thought it wouldn't be far from here, Dad didn't have to worry. I'll be fine and I'll definitely give you money in every month. You don't have to be afraid I won't give you money to run your days," explained Ernest.

"All right, whatever you decide, I'll support him, take care of yourself, son! Let me know if you need anything," said Lewis in the end.
