Chapter 5

For the first time, Riley start over with and unfazed look on his face while Jane was secretly smiling. She could not wait for the fool to be disgraced before everyone.

She stepped forward forcing the little crying puppy to look at her face.

"Carter, you wouldn't believe what this fool did. He tried to ask Claire out and when I told him that she was already taken by someone else, he told me to scream. 

You are a nobody and there is nothing that you can do to him." She added.

Everyone was stunned hearing these words. Even Riley was. He could not believe that she would go to the point of lying just to get what she wanted.

Even though most people that were in the place knew the truth, none of them dared to speak against the leader of the Pink Panther club and incur her wrath.

Carter's face was hot red with fury. One that was enough to frighten Claire. She stepped forward with a frown and a worried look on her face.

"Why would you say such a thing Jane when I was the one that made the first advance? I was just looking for someone to talk to and Riley and did nothing wrong." She emphasized.

"If anyone has done anything wrong. Then it's me."

Even after saying these words, Carter was still not moved.

"Oh yeah. He has done a lot for a poor little brat like him. I am going to show him why no one should offend the Linton family." He roared with anger.

Claire shivered quickly running forward. 

"Please, Carter. Please don't do anything stupid. This way I broke up in the first place. You can't keep trembling on people. Just let this one go. And I promise, I will try to come back to you." She pleaded.

Hearing these words seemed to make his heart soften a little bit. Carter stared at Riley and said.

"Because of her, your punishment isn't going to be light. So just kiss the floor and apologize to me and I will forget that this ever happened."

Everyone was expecting Riley to go down on his knees, Alexa and the grin on his face increased even more.

"This is going to be just perfect. I should take photos of this scene and show it to everyone." The thoughts made her bubble up with joy.

However, the next action of Riley caused everyone to be stunned at this. He pushed Claire away from him until he could feel the warmth of her body.

"And so what if I wooed her and she is with me now? She broke up with you, so isn't that supposed to mean that you should stay away from her?" He inquired. 

The air around the place froze in an instant but Riley didn't pause at what he was going to do as he continued with what he was saying.

"Or are you so dumb that you need someone to look up the word broken up in a dictionary for you?"

Even Claire had her feet frozen. She had thought that she would be able to bring down Carter's wrath if she returned to him. But now, they were all doomed.

Carter, who had never had anyone speak to him in such a manner before, was already shaking with anger.

"I want to make this clear.  Did I hear you? Did the school's errand boy just speak to me in such a manner?" He inquired.

"Well, there goes my suspicion. He is also deaf and dumb!" Riley said casually.

Carter could not hold back the rage that was rising in him anymore.

"Aren't you afraid that his family is going to come after you?" Jane almost yelled.

"The Lintons? Does such a name even exist before me? Maybe as a minute group cause, I never acknowledged them. 

If they have balls as large as that of the sun. Then they could even try." Riley replied with a cold look on his face.

Carter could not control the anger that was rising in him anymore.  He tried to give Riley a slap across his face.

However, his hands were way too slow. Riley held his hands high up in the air, giving him a reverse of the slap.

The sound of it could be heard throughout the plain. The errand boy has just slapped the most popular kid at Moreland University.

Not only that, the slap has torn his lips. Most people had their hands firmly placed on their lips and blood dripping down from their mouths.

"You slapped me?" He muttered still trying hard to believe the words that had just happened.

"That isn't enough? You want more that's going to take your brain back to factory settings?" Riley frowned.

At that moment, Claire's feet were already floating like jelly. She was terrified of her bones and there were ripples all over her skin.

She wanted to go over and plead with Carter. However, Riley stopped her. Preventing her from making any move.

"You shouldn't apologize to scumbags like him," Riley replied before shifting his gaze over to him once again.

"I would love to see what he would be able to do to me." His face knitted.

Most people that were gathered around the place were yet to snap out of their gaze.

It was obvious that after all the years of running errands while Carter had to be treated more like royalty, he was far stronger.

Carter brought out his cell phone from his pocket and placed a call. When he heard that his lady had been flirting with someone else, he had already hired a private thug to deal with the guy if there was any need for it.

After placing the call, a group of cars stormed off to the place. There were a good number of people there.

Seeing this, they naturally drew backward trying to avoid the troubles that seemed to be shoving from the scene.

When the men stepped out of the car, there was something prominent about them. It was the scorpion tattoos on their bodies.

Most people didn't know them. However, those of the higher upper class who were around knew about this group instantly.

They were known to be one of the most powerful groups that had terrorized the city for years. Even the government had not been able to place them under wraps.

Those who knew were already telling their friends. Claire and Jane already knew about this group and her heart raced.

She turned around quickly towards Riley with a frightened look on her face.

"This is all my fault... I don't even know your name. I am sorry for putting you into this mess."

"Right now, I know that you are trying to protect me even after everything that I have done already. But I don't think that you know how deadly this group is. I think that we should apologize to Carter. Maybe this time he would be able to let us off his hook." She almost broke out.

Riley was still unconcerned and rather he said.

"You don't have to be sorry. And don't worry about him. I just want to see which trick such a small fry has under his sleeves to pull." Riley returned.

Bea gritted her teeth. She already knew the looks that were on his face. It said that he had already made up his mind.

Seeing this man, especially with the big boss that was in front, a smile lifted Carter's face for the face time.

"Let's see how you are going to deal with this Errand boy." He announced loud enough for everyone to hear.

The boss stepped forward with a frown.

"Who is it that dares to slap Carter's." His voice sent a shiver of fear down the spine of almost everyone.

"And by that, you would mean me?" Riley responded coldly.

He wasn't afraid. There were a whole lot of guards that were going to step in quickly for him if need be.

The man with the heavy mass stared forward and goosebumps formed all over his skin with his eyes popping out from his eye socket.

He was almost out of breath and when he was finally able to snap out from his daze, he fell on his knees with a shiver and strutted to his words.

"Please, sir. Please forgive me  for daring to speak in such a manner that I just did." Everyone watched in astonishment as the unrevealed king of the underworld shivered in his pants before Riley.
