In an instant, the insects were all stained pale purple by the purple mist spread by the purple poison banner, and ghostly, demonic things began to slowly appear on their bodies. These things were later called "Devil Ghosts," which attached themselves to monsters' bodies, more resilient than plasters, and could greatly weaken all of the monster's attributes. The higher the skill level, the more obvious the effect; it would be absolutely terrifying in the later stages.

A large group of insects were stained light purple, and in an instant they were thrown into chaos, scurrying about in groups and rushing towards the valley entrance.

Ryan and Bloodshot blocked the valley entrance and launched an attack. Ryan was the main damage dealer, dealing high damage; a single fatal sword strike instantly killed over 300 HP of numerous insects within a 5-yard line in front of him.

Bloodshot used her afterimage sword technique, attacking three insects at a time, but the damage was slightly lower, only taking away about 100 HP from each insect. However, her defense was very strong, and her health was also high; the insects only dealt about 100 damage to her, while dealing over 180 damage to Ryan.

At this moment, Embe Dragon, along with Ember Fox and Ember Tiger, began unleashing a barrage of attacks. Fire Wall spells covered the valley entrance, the raging flames burning continuously.

Although the damage wasn't high, the flames were persistent, causing the insects to squeal and scream, unsure of who to attack. Some tried to rush out but couldn't get through. Others tried to push forward but were blocked by the insects in front, only to be burned.

Teagan was also busy, casting out one poison array after another, just in case the weakening effect disappeared.

The first batch of insects burned for a full fifteen minutes before they were finally all dead.

Ryan and Teagan leveled up to level 17 instantly—it was incredibly satisfying! After all, they were the lowest level, so they received the most experience bonuses. The three members of the Longcheng family and Bloodshot, while not leveling up, also gained a significant amount of experience.

Looking at the valley entrance littered with dead insects and covered in a sticky, green liquid, it was utterly disgusting. The insects had shriveled up immediately after death, like deflated balloons. The copper coins and green equipment they dropped were all soaking in the liquid.

There was no time for anyone to collect the loot; leveling up was the priority, which attracted a second wave. This time, Ryan ventured deep into the lion's den, risking his life, because Teagan's poison array had a limited range and he couldn't go any further.

Naturally, Bloodshot should have been the one to lure the monsters, as she was a guardian-type warrior. However, Ryan thought that as a man, he should be the one charging into battle, and it was inappropriate to let a girl lure the monsters.

This time, Ryan was in real trouble. A swarm of insects was chasing him relentlessly, their gaping maws wide open. Watching Ryan's blood and energy fluctuate wildly, it was a nerve-wracking experience for everyone watching. If he were to die by accident, how pathetic would that be?

Teagan had already set up the poison array at the valley entrance.

In the short time it took Ryan to turn around after escaping the valley entrance, the three mages had already laid down a wall of fire, and a large number of insects once again walked into the death trap.

The group continued burning the insects in this cycle for a full three hours. Dragon City Emperor and Flying Snow finally reached level 20, while Ice Heart Dance and Dragon City Sky Edge reached level 19. Ryan and Teagan were at level 18, and were about to reach level 19.

"Dragon, quickly give me the skill book and the magic wand." Ember Fox couldn't wait to ask Ember Dragon for those two items.

"Here, take them." Ember Dragon didn't hesitate at all and actually traded them to her.

Ryan and Teagan began to secretly speculate about the relationship between the two. The Ember Dragon was far too generous, giving away a level 20 blue magic wand and a level 20 elemental blue skill book so easily. Was he just incredibly wealthy, or had he lost his mind?

Ember Fox equipped herself with the Fire Spirit Staff and learned the Heavenly Fire Technique skill. Overjoyed, she chuckled and said, "Let's begin. I'll show you the power of this new skill."

Ryan said nothing and then attracted a large swarm of insects.

Teagan set up the Plague Poison Array, and Ember Dragon and Ember Tiger laid out a large-scale fire wall. At this moment, Dragon City Ember Fox began to unleash her ultimate move, Heavenly Fire Technique.

Then, Ember Fox raised her magic wand high with her delicate white hand. A red cloud appeared in the sky, followed by fluctuations in fire element. Then, like shooting stars, huge fireballs began to fall from the red cloud, much like the scene when the blue boss, the Skeleton Priest, cast this skill.

Then a series of explosions rang out, one after another, and the flames rose even more fiercely.

Fireballs landed and exploded, causing widespread damage. Almost all the insects were burned, their bodies engulfed in flames, and their cries were pitiful.

Everyone stared in disbelief, their hearts pounding. If this were used in a PvP battle, everyone within range would likely be killed, or at the very least left with severely damaged health.

One minute later, the skill ended.

All the dozens of insects died.

Ember Fox burst into tears.

"Fox, what's wrong?" Ember Dragon was puzzled. Why would she cry for no reason?

Ryan, Bloodshot, Teagan, and others were also quite dumbfounded.

"Waaaaah... What kind of lousy skill is this? It has a 600-second cooldown and used up all my MP."

So that's why Ember Fox was crying; she felt it was such a bad deal.

Ember Fox was right; Heavenly Fire Technique was a skill that consumed a huge amount of MP, and its cooldown time was extremely long. After learning the skill, she was so happy that she didn't read the skill description. Only after the skill was cast did she realize how terrible it was.

Everyone was both amused and exasperated.

Ember Dragon advised, "So what? This skill is so useful. Even with a 3-hour cooldown, it's still worth it. Besides, if you run out of mana, you can just drink a potion to restore it."

Ember Fox was still crying when she asked, "What if we encounter a group PvP?"

She meant that if they encountered a group PvP, it would be a waste not to use this skill, as they would definitely be itching to use it. However, if she used it, her mana would be completely depleted, meaning she wouldn't be able to use any other skills, and if an enemy got close, she would surely die.

"It's okay. In a group battle, just hold back and use it at the crucial moment. Using it recklessly will definitely get you killed."

"Hmm, that makes sense."

"Then stop crying, will you?"

"Who told you I was crying? I was just ruminating."

"..."

Everyone was driven crazy after hearing this; this girl was really torturous.

Teagan cursed and swore all the way back. When they got back to the camp, the goblin overseer was still lingering by the black pot. The purple poison on his body had disappeared, but his blood and energy had decreased by more than 2,000.Teagan said, "Let's change tactics. I'll set up a poison array here, and you, beautiful lady, can lure the boss over. I know it's a bit risky, but it's the only way.""I'll lure it myself." Ryan couldn't bear to let Bloodshot, a girl, lure the boss.“That’s even more dangerous for you, I’ll go instead.” Bloodshot was very courageous and insisted on going by herself."Be careful," Ryan warned."Hmm." Bloodshot nodded, carrying the Ghostly Blade and holding the battle shield as she approached the boss. When she was about 3 yards away, the boss noticed her and roared as it charged at her. Bloodshot had already cast all her buffs, increasing her defense and health by 10%, which was more than enough to withstand the boss's attack. The boss chased after Blo

Ryan was too unconcerned to listen to Teagan's boasting, so he said, "Stop talking nonsense, aren't we fighting a boss? Let's go, and level up quickly after we're done.""Hmm. Let's go, the boss is probably inside, eating. Look, there's smoke coming out of there." As he spoke, Teagan pointed to the goblin camp not far away.Actually, they received this quest quite by chance, because the old NPC wouldn't appear until all the nearby goblin warriors had been wiped out. However, the players who had come to level up here in the past two days had moved on to other areas before the goblin warriors were cleared out. Therefore, no one had accepted the quest. The three followed the direction and entered the goblin camp a few minutes later. To their confirmation, there was a boss wandering around inside. There was also a dilapidated black pot on the ground with a fire burning underneath, and a human skeleton was cooking in the pot. When they looked at the boss's attributes again, they were stunn

Before long, the three arrived at the Goblin Plains. There were hardly any players left there; those of sufficient level didn't bother leveling up there, having all gone to explore new maps in the level 2 capital city. Those who weren't high enough level either dared not come, or were unaware of this place."Let's get started, and try to reach level 20 as soon as possible." Teagan returned to his usual self, his resentment having mostly subsided. But ever since that night, he had formed a grudge against the Ember Clan, and they would never speak to each other again."Take your time, don't rush. I believe we'll get what we want before dawn," Ryan said with a smile."Thanks for your encouraging words, but I've attracted a monster." With that, Teagan threw out a poison talisman, which attracted a giant earth spirit warrior.Ryan and Bloodshot teamed up and easily defeated the attacker in a few swift moves. However, they didn't gain much experience from the fight.Teagan muttered as he fo

  • 14. Separate Ways

Ryan and Teagan teamed up with members of the Ember Clan to farm the Strange Insect Valley. They farmed until late at night, and Ember Tiger and Bloodshot only reached level 20. Ryan and Teagan were at level 19, still 50% short of level 20.By this time, most of the giant insects in the Insect Valley had been wiped out, and Ryan had to run out for at least three to five minutes each time he lured them back. This was because the remaining giant insects were located in the deepest part of the Insect Valley, and luring them back was extremely dangerous. It was nearly 1 a.m., and when Ember Dragon saw that Ember Tiger had reached level 20, he prepared to disband the team. He had long since given up on grinding, because without the experience bonus from killing monsters above his level, his leveling speed had been greatly affected. However, he had to wait for Ember Tiger to reach level 20 before he could leave; otherwise, Ember Tiger wouldn't be able to go to the newly opened level 2 main

  • 12. Let's Level Up

Ryan understood Teagan's meaning, but it was impossible to predict the future based on the beginning alone. Therefore, he did not agree to Teagan's request to switch careers and become a professional gamer. If he could continue to earn a large sum of money in the near future, then he would have to make the switch without hesitation. At this moment, Ember Dragon, Ember Fox, and Ember Tiger returned, and they even formed a party with a female warrior wielding a battle shield, but they couldn't find a priest. The female warrior was level 18, her game name was Bloodshot, and she was fully equipped with green gear, all level 15. Although it was quite average, she seemed to have some skill. Most importantly, Bloodshot's dance was quite captivating. She has a graceful figure, a full and proud bust, long and beautiful legs, fair and delicate skin, and long, jet-black hair that falls over her shoulders. It goes without saying that Bloodshot is a guardian-style warrior.
