“It seems you want to do this the hard way instead. I am just here to talk. If you give me what I need, I’ll leave and not hurt anyone here. Do you understand?” The voice said again before grabbing the doorknob and wanting to pull it open, but something like an electric spark surged through and repulsed his hand.

“A barrier on a shabby store?” The voice said with a hint of amusement, but right after, a cracking sound echoed, and the next thing, the door was being ripped off its hinges regardless of the barrier around the whole place.

Noah was stunned. He knew how strong his grandmother's protective barrier was, and it had been there for several years, yet a strange-looking man had appeared and ripped through it like it was child's play.

There was only one explanation for this, and that was the fact that whoever this man was, he had to be very powerful.

Swooooh!

Wind whistled through the door frame. The outline of a shadow appeared by the door as the moon was shining in the sky. The f

  • This is my last wish

Michael smirked as he noticed both ladies were about to attack him from both sides. Do they think they stood a chance against him or what? Their weakness alone had a very stinking smell to him, and yet they clung to hope, thinking their attack could do damage to him. He couldn’t wait to see the look on their faces by then.“Such a foolish set of people!” He didn’t attack or take a stance to evade their attack. Instead, he even compromised, and pulled his legs off Noah’s head to the floor.“Die!!!!!!!!!!!” Lily attacked with all her might. Her grandmother had taught her cultivation so she wasn’t weak. In fact, she was even more impressive than her brother, and today she was going to prove it by saving him. She punched out, but when her fist landed on Michael, it felt like she had stumbled across a concrete wall. She could have sworn it was his face and punched, yet, it felt so hard that even her knuckles cracked.Bang! She stumbled to the back, stunned. Her eyes widened in shock as s

  • Like lambs I can use

“Ahhhhh!” Noah groaned in pain as he realized he had let his guard down and let this man take advantage of the situation. First, the grip on him was so powerful that if he had forced himself out, he might have broken his jaw in the process. Then there was his grandmother, whom he loved so much. Seeing her being kicked away like that when she was already old and struggling filled him with rage and he subconsciously flared up. Who could have thought that would be his downfall? The poison began to take effect at a fast pace. His pupils constricted and there was a burning pain coursing through his lungs. It came with hotness like a scorching fire was poured in his skin. He had the urge to rip his neck open and scratch inside his throat.“Ahhhh!” The pain continued before it progressed to the next phase, and that was numbness, then palpitation before cardiovascular collapse. His body became like a log of wood down there on the floor.Though the poison might not kill him, it did make him

  • You are scaring the kid

Meanwhile, in a country named Marvin, far south and seemingly very close to country Vee.Inside a wooden shop that looked so old, there were rows of herbs, medicines, and a lot more that were arranged all around. The stench of mixtures of herbs and strong medicine hung in the air. If someone who wasn’t used to it came in at the moment, the strong smell might knock them out. However, an old woman who was seemingly almost seventy years old, looking frail and wearing a pair of glasses, was on the other side of the counter brewing more medicine with a mortar. Her face had a serious expression as she concentrated on the activity without even blinking, as though if she did, then whatever recipe she was making might not be as effective as she wanted.“Grandma, are you sure you won’t abandon this store so we can move into the city? There’s no one coming to buy herbs from us anymore!” Just then, a young lady in her early twenties walked in. Her hair was tied in a bun, she wore a pair of jea

  • So you are useless?

He couldn’t help but remember how August had punched him right in the face, stopping him from drinking the elixir. If he had succeeded, then even August might be dead right now. That kid was lucky. His anger drove him to have a sharp instinct.“He is still alive,” Raven said with a frown. “What? I thought you were stronger than him.” Michael was slightly surprised. Raven might be among the top strongest people he had under him in the sect; compared to the people above him, he was still weak. However, someone like him should be enough to take care of that kid, as he had long crossed the grandmaster level decades ago. What went wrong?“I’m sorry, but he is slightly stronger than I expected. I could have died if I had stayed any longer.” Raven had to confess even though he hated the outcome.“So even with two elixirs, you are still useless?” Michael growled. His words sent chills down Raven's spine as though he had been showered with a bowl of ice water. He didn’t need anyone to tell h

  • I confirmed it with my eyes

Both Alpha One and David looked at each other before looking at the phones on the table. One was David's, while the other was Alpha One's phone. However, of the two, only one had a lit-up screen showing an incoming call. The caller's name was also visible. It was August. Both of them gulped down hard. At least with this, they were able to confirm that he had survived whatever battle he had faced over there.Quickly, Alpha One picked up the call and set it on a loudspeaker.“Hello, boss,” he called out.“What's the situation over there?” August's voice came in from the other side. It was calm, yet they could feel the pain and anger in it. They had known him for quite a while and were able to tell what he was feeling or going through from listening to his voice. “We have purged out the enemy for now.” Alpha One sighed. “How about on your side?” He asked.Silence came in from the other side. Alpha One looked at David and shook his head. They didn't need to speak to be able to realize wh
