Xavier was silent and would not do anything he was told. He had no idea what was currently in front of his eyes.

"Who's talking?" asked Xavier to himself.

"What do I get if I choose?"

Xavier asked one question, which he had because he didn't know the system world.

"Power?" asked Xavier again, incredulously.

Xavier, still in doubt and disbelief, began to move his hands. Press the number buttons on the monitor right in front of his face.

Xavier's breathing was ragged. He had just woken up from his sleep. This was because the dream he felt seemed very real to him.

"Sigh!!!"

Xavier breathed a sigh of relief, as it was all just a dream. Then he took another deep breath and let it out slowly. After that, he got out of bed. Out of the room, look for his mother's whereabouts, who is usually already in the kitchen at this time.

"Mum. Is there anything I can do to help you?"

Emma turned her head, seeing where her son was. 

"Are you awake?" asked Emma at last.

Xavier just nodded. Then he sat on the old wooden chair not far from where his mother worked in the kitchen.

"Go back to sleep. Or study! Do you have final exams? What about applying for a scholarship to Zlodon City?"

Xavier answered his mum's questions one by one. He also told his mum that he would be successful in the future with everything he has.

"Yes, dear. You must be optimistic about your abilities. Change your fate with the hands you have."

A few weeks later.

Xavier came home happy. He was carrying a piece of paper that the school had given him earlier during dismissal time.

The paper stated that Xavier had passed the selection for a scholarship to a major school in Zlodon. As such, he was also guaranteed living expenses as long as Xavier could maintain his learning achievements.

"You poor bastard. All you're looking for is freebies!"

"Shortsighted!"

"The smell of rubbish!"

The scorn and bullying Xavier received haven't changed even though he has proven that his brain can compete, even superior to the children of the rich.

Xavier remained silent. He did not want to reply to the taunts with words or actions that could deter them. He adjusted the position of his glasses, which had faded frames and lenses.

A few days later, Xavier finally did go to the city of Zlodon. The dream city of everyone who wants to change their fate and circumstances.

Like most people, Xavier wanted to change his family's situation by getting an education at the big school in Zlodon. He seemed to forget all about his poor circumstances.

Excitedly, Xavier set off for Zlodon, armed only with his tattered clothes and worn-out shoes.

Xavier is not concerned about that. He thinks that his smarts can make up for his lack of looks.

Unfortunately, Zlodon's life in the big city was not what he had imagined. One's appearance is highly scrutinised. Even something as small as a hairpin can become the talk of the modelling class.

People glorify a model or a trendy, branded, and expensive way of dressing.

Xavier was bullied even worse in his new school than in his town. That is the city of Eimcester.

At this school, Xavier, who was already at the high school level, was criticised not only by his peers. In fact, from student guardians or parents.

They, the parents, were worried about Xavier's unhealthy appearance. His thin, dry body, with clothes and shoes that were no longer fit, made them feel uncomfortable and ill-feeling, and they had to stay away from Xavier's presence.

That's how they treated Xavier. None of them wanted to be friends or come close to Xavier. They feared that Xavier would carry a virus or disease so that they would be infected later. 

They also needed to remember that Xavier was a top student who could get a full scholarship and a guaranteed life in a big city like Zlodon.

Unfortunately, Kylian's gang, which is a collection of the children of the rich and officials, doesn't like Xavier with all the circumstances surrounding him.

They plan to make Xavier unable to see the world anymore. Moreover, they must understand when their female friend appears to be talking to Xavier. So they beat Xavier up when he got home from school at night.

"Mercy! Mercy!"

The screams of mercy that came out of Xavier's mouth seemed to be the music that made them want to kill him even more.

Xavier only replied to some of them. He only covered his face or certain parts hit by the punches and kicked from the people who ganged up on him this time.

Xavier's consciousness began to fade. He had also fallen face down and had no idea what happened to his belongings. Namely, the textbooks that were in his shabby bag.

Fortunately, the bag was close to where Xavier was at the moment. All of them, of course, had no interest in a hobo bag. Since they were rich kids, they could buy anything they wanted.

"Suck it!"

"You should just go to hell!"

Xavier's helpless state did not stop them from teasing and insulting him.

They were still kicking the legs and body of Xavier, who was lying helplessly on his stomach.

Xavier's consciousness began to slip away. He could not see clearly, as his body was already very weak.

What Xavier experienced was a joke for all of them. But they all didn't know what would happen a few seconds after they closed their mouths. Because suddenly, a whirlwind came without cause, and it was unknown where it came from.

Xavier began to do things he had never tried on the system that had been with him all along.
